First Look: Famous Fashion Designer's Wardrobe Choices

Fashion_designers_out_and_about

(Designers featured above, upper left and clockwise; Georgina Chapman, Nicole Miller, Vera Wang, Manolo Blahnik, Rachel Roy, Erin Fetherston, Matthew Williamson, Tory Burch, Carolina Herrera, Catharine Malandrino)

Do you ever ponder what some of the most well-known designers even look like? Might you be thinking about the ensembles they choose to BIG-time events? Well then look no further!

Featured above are ten amazing and well-known designers. Do you recognize any? Can you name them all? As the Holiday Party season wraps up, I've stumbled across many-a picture of a Designer, or two, galavanting around town. I am always drawn to designer's choice of clothing and whether or NOT they are sporting their own designs.

For inspirational purposes and for a chance to basically peek inside the lives of the rich, creative and of so magnificently wardrobed...I'd like to take a moment to point out what I just LOVE about each look/designer.

Above, upper left and clockwise:

- Georgina Chapman of Marchesa in her own design and looking positively ravishing...t-strap heels and chandelier earrings are the perfect accessory for her gilded BIBBED look (click the jump, I've already featured the gown from her Runway Show).

- Nicole Miller of her namesake actually can LOSE this dress, but I've loving the STATEMENT NECKLACE and the slight heathered look in her black opaque tights have me yearning for a pair, pronto!

- Vera Wang got it oh so RIGHT with this ensemble. Her killer Prada kicks/tights combo is perfection. Her long knit, sequined sweater-VEST just dazzles and her STATEMENT NECKLACE...two words for you on that note: tres chic!

- Manolo Blahnik. Yep, that's all this man needs...just a period! His shoes have their own cult-following and I've got to give his YELLOW tie some attention. He's amazing, just...ahhhh-maze-ing!

- Rachel Roy pretty much always looks ravishing to me. Her perfect skin, dark eyes and always supremely accessorized looks draw me in. This lady-love knows how to shine!

- Erin Fetherston had this haircut before anyone else (yes, even Suri and Katie). Erin's style is always resurrected vintage and undeniably feminine! Her long red gown stands out against her light skin and bright blonde hair.

- Matthew Williamson presents some of my fave pieces every season. His whimsical and coastal inspired looks always catch my eye. His casual suit and sneakers allow us all to deduce he is a man who values comfort and wearability.

- Tory Burch (looks like a bobble-head here, but that's beside the point) has been launched into the celeb-wearing stratosphere in the last few years. Her beach-friendly, embellished tunics created the original inspiration behind all those 'other' ones that are currently sitting dormant in your present closet. Her gilded flats have been copied by everyone from Steve Madden to Payless. Her pieces do resonate in the lives of the rich and middle class. She a struck a serious chord in women's fashion and has built an empire in no time...so can I just say, I've got the utmost respect!

- Carolina Herrera looks just ravishing in her grey fur and long skirt combo. This woman knows how to dress like royalty and her pieces make you feel like, just that!

- Catherine Malandrino in her own design is one of my fave designers for dressing a woman with some killer curves. You can obviously see she's the perfect 'model' to show off her shape-enhancing pieces. Her use of killer draping techniques and breathtaking craftsmanship make each lady-like piece like a work of art!
