Male Bytes: Female Fashion from a Man's Perspective - Chris Marine Byting Jessica Simpson, Reese Witherspoon, Vanessa Minnillo and Heidi Klum

That's right...another killer addition to one of RunwayDaily's hottest and most talked about category; Male Bytes! It's Friday and what better way to kick off your weekend than some opinions on female fashion from a man's perspective.

Our amazing addition is from Mr. Creative - Chris Marine. A musician in New York City, Chris is a newlywed with an apparent gift to pick out what's really 'hot and not' for celeb ensembles. Honestly, I am beyond impressed with what he DID notice...ummm, Reese's yellow bracelet, for ONE...to his asking about "where" Jessica Simpson's feet are under her WIDE-leg jeans! Classic, I tell ya! Read on and believe me, the last thing Chris's take on female fashion will do, is disappoint! He's been one of the first readers to actually 'like' all four looks and find the positive in each ensemble...so cheers to that, Chris!

So, without further ado...let's hear Chris's gripping thoughts on our gorgeous four lady-loves; Jessica Simpson, Reese Witherspoon, Vanessa Minnillo and Heidi Klum! Here's precisely, word for word, what I heard back from him about the three stunningly clad starlets:

Jessica Simpson - "Holy enormous snot colored bag Batman!! She seems to be in her “out and about” clothing. I really like her hair pulled back by her shades like that. Her hair color, classic dirty blonde, can’t really go wrong with that in my book. Her enormous hoop earrings while a little Rose Perez are still working with her more casual ensemble. I like plaid stuff but this is hardly a flannel. I think the plaid jacket, while covering her impressive figure is still flattering because of its slim fit. Tight jeans…nothing wrong with that, although I find it a bit strange that she has no feet. Maybe a shorter inseam, maybe a more tapered leg. I really like her wrist band. Her necklace(s) long with seafoam green jewels or whatever, looks good to me as well, but not necessarily needed. Now, about the mother kangaroo pouch complete with baby kangaroo…now that’s a bag. Is this how lady power-shoppers who shop all day without a trip to the car carry their spoils?"

Reese Witherspoon - "Ah yes. This is what I’m talking about. Reese is looking amazing here. I love the beach babe, blonde locks, the short bang look totally works for her. Not all women in my opinion can pull this off, but she has a narrow moon shaped face so the bangs do not create an outline effect rounding out her face. Some people might say that the black is boring but this Audrey Hepburn-esque ensemble is anything but that in my opinion. Call me crazy but I love the subtle clash of colors between the almost Easter purple top and the dark violet heels. I know they hurt you girls, but you look damn good in them, as you know. She ‘s looking a little pale though, but I honestly like the contrast of her white skin with the stark black majority of the outfit, and as I mentioned above the subtle clash of the top, shoes, and the accent of her yellow bracelet that I am noticing now. Her eye makeup is a bit heavy, but it serves as an effective outline against her white skin and brings out the blue in her eyes. No neckwear to speak of, no need. This look is all about little subtleties. I feel it was well thought out. I think she pulls off simple, mod elegance with tasteful-clashing highlights. It also helps that I’ve heard her sing June Carter songs, and talk with a southern accent. You can take a man out of the south…but, well you know the rest."

Vanessa Minnillo - "OK. First off I find Vanessa to be very attractive. I don’t watch much TV so I’m not familiar with who she is, but I am familiar with hot and I believe that is what we have here, (moment, now over). She chose three bold colors that I feel you can’t really go wrong with. Red and white go great together, so does red and black, black and white, etc. Some fashion types might say it was a safe choice, but with her great dark skin tone it looks amazing. The red and black hair clip goes great with the fire engine red purse and matching red lip color, and the contrast with the black and white, almost jungle print dress is definitely hot. I like the pulled back, but styled in front hair-do. Very subtle earrings, nothing dangly. I feel like this is a somewhat modern approach to a classic idea. Overall, I’d call this a classy ensemble; it’s not necessarily breaking any new ground, but when you got it, you got it babe. I could do without the Reebok backdrop."

Heidi Klum - "Ok. I suppose I’ll break this pretty lady down from head to toe. Hair: not everybody could pull this off, but I have to say she does. She has great hair, the coloring seems to match her skin tone quite well, and she definitely has the healthy, tanned Hollywood vibe going on. (I realize she is German). I think she let the dress do all the talking. I can’t discuss her earrings without getting into this metallic little number. Every accessory she has on all tie in from the butterfly bracelet, to the tiny silver purse to those silver open toed heels which I am a total sucker for. She is clearly at some famous people function and she’s a tall (5/9&1/2 to be exact) and a very well proportioned fashionista. I think she looks amazing. Now, I must also defend myself in saying my critiques are only my opinion; from a heterosexual male’s (the enemy’s) perspective, but for me I wouldn’t really want my lady wearing something like this. Big picture, she looks hot, I mean it’s Heidi Klum. She looks like a super hot, silver-alligator from the everglades of the future, in a really good way."

Ok, so you have to admit there were MANY-A-QUOTE in here that you were giggling at. How about stating that Jessica Simpson's bag is how lady-power-shoppers carry their spoils? L-O-V-E it! I know Chris' Mom and seriously KNOW that this is a woman that knows how to shop...so I just want to give her a virtual high-five on this one...she raised him well! Thanks Chris...you brightened RunwayDaily's day...and numerous other readers...your wit and keen eye made for a wonderful Male Bytes addition! Cheers to Friday, everyone!

Milan Fashion Week: Belted Furs

Belted_fur_at_milan_fashion_week_em

How unbelievably glamorous is this? It's taking something that's undeniably timeless (fur) and giving it a trendy spin. Belts have launched over into wardrobe essentials and are not merely just a trend anymore. Belting everything is one of the chic ways to say, "I know fashion."

Now, the Runway is marrying that easy to emulate trick (belted waistlines) with something fluffy and FUN! Yeppers, I'm pretty much in l-o-v-e with this look. Appearing above at Emilio Pucci, Marni, Fendi and Gucci, belted furs delivered a serious tone of elegance and glamour! I adore the pop of pink, peeking out underneath the furs, at Emilio Pucci and Marni. And how about that killer belt at Fendi and the wrap around studded one at Fendi. Each created such a show-stopping feel!

Belted_fur_at_milan_fashion_week__2

Here's five more looks from the Milan Runway shows. I'm totally digging the vest at Emilio Pucci with the short-sleeved TURTLENECK underneath. I love the color combos going on at Maurizio Pecoraro; navy, olive green, turquoise, light pink and dark brown...who would've thought? They seriously 'work' when combined together, in this particular look...just brilliant! Dolce & Gabbana's long vested version would keep your whole bod WARM and COZY during a cooler Spring or harsh Fall. And the Fendi fur is just to die for...gorgeous!

Belted_fur_at_milan_fashion_week_do

One last grouping of five Runway looks for you and just to reaffirm that this is a trend worth taking notice of. I know it seems we're all putting our fur away in the 'fall/winter' drawer, but there is NO BETTER TIME to buy fur than now...the end of the winter season. Take a look above at the Marni ensemble and notice the oversized fur vest and PATTERNED TIGHTS. The pencil skirt juxtaposes the bigness of the fur allowing the look to 'work' and not overtake the model. The Dolce & Gabbana look is totally "a bit too much" for my taste and the bright red version at D&G would be quite the daring approach to this trend.

I've included some speedy-savvy-stylin' for you, below! It's Friday, I was feeling sweet...so I've done FURS (all under $250)...I'm telling you, NOW is the time to buy! Don't wait until Fall when the prices soar sky-high. Naturally, I've included both real and faux fur. I've also included some stellar belt options too...all under $25! So, you have no excuse...on a chilly Spring night, layer it over a cute lil' ensemble and then the look will be transitional into Fall! Come on, it's leap "day"...leap into this furry-belted Milan Fashion Week goodness, asap!

Milan Fashion Week: Pretty in Paisley Floods the Gucci, D&G and Burberry Prorsum Runways

Gucci_fall_2008_paisley_on_the_runw

Paisley is such a classic print. It's been around for honestly EVER! It's supremely ladylike, sophisticated but FUN all at once. It's a print that everyone can sport. For more petite women, it will not TAKE OVER their tiny figures. Yes, it's truly a very versatile print. And being just that, numerous design houses showed ensembles with a touch of paisley, and more. Some showed entire ensembles covered in the print and others only hinted from a paisley scarf wrapped around a fur coat (Burberry Prorsum) to a sheer paisley blouse with killer skinny-trousers (Gucci).

Paisley is easy to find and purchase...but just something I think you should keep your eye on for Spring/Summer and obviously into Fall. Make it a subdued hue and it will transition well into your Fall wardrobe colors. Or go bright and bold and wear that goody all Spring/Summer long! One thing's for certain, Gucci, D&G and Burberry Prorsum are fashion houses that strive to set the trends and do so, year to year...so take note, shop the looks via my speedy-savvy-stylin', way below...and hop on this here, Paisley Bandwagon, pronto!

PS - I know you just LOVE that I've thrown in some cutie suits to get you inspired for that SUMMERY BRONZED HOT BODY KARATE! Everything is under $150 and I seriously have the wallet out and am ready to purchase the O & G Chiffon Paisley Blouse. So cute and transitional. Just imagine it with a jean vest over top? So boho-chic!

How to Wear It: The Long Vest - Featured at New York, London and Milan Fashion Week

The_long_vest_is_extra_long_and_flo

I just can't get enough of this hot new trend! I do deem it one of the bigger trends that will take notice this Fall. But why wait till then, eh? Get on it now! I've really done my research this go-round, lady loves. And plan to have you RACING away from this here, post, just to go get yourself THE LONG VEST of your dreams!

Featured above, I've collaged three looks from Jeremy Laing, Alexander Wang and House of Holland. All three are sporting a long vest with trousers. Some WIDE-LEG, others skinny as can be. I love that the vests are extra long, loose and flowing. Easy to emulate as two of the three vested looks are layered over a t-shirt. There's some speedy-savvy-stylin' for you, way below and I want you to take notice of the BDG Boyfriend Sweater Vest which would be a perfect option for perfecting the trouser/long vest combo!

The_long_vest_over_dresses_and_skir

Now just above, we have three other, more highly sophisticated versions of the long vested look. Seen at 3.1 Phillip Lim, Dolce & Gabbana and Marni, the vests were paired with longer dresses and skirts. They were then layered over turtlenecks or collared shirts and all tied up with a killer leather belt! Please tell me you immediately took notice of the DOUBLE-WRAPPED BELT at 3.1? I have you trained, very well, my love! Yes, LADY-LIKE indeed...pair any sweater vest over a FULL SKIRT and TURTLENECK (or tank in the summer) and you're an easy target to be called, "One chic and preppy, princess!" Which speedy-savvy-stylin' vest catches my eye for this category? I'd have to say the Style&Co. Deep V-neck version and at $14.95, what a steal!

The_long_vest_over_a_mini_dress_and

Last, but not least, we have three more versions from the Eley Kishimoto, Lacoste and Dsquared² Runways that make the Long Vest beyond versatile. It's the piece that catapults even plain-jane outfits into stellar and stylish ensembles. Notice the pairing of a mini-dress and longer vest...love that at Eley Kishimoto. How about the "boy meets girl" version at Lacoste...do you love? If not, just remove the tie and pair the entire look with some spring-worthy STRAP-HAPPY PLATFORMS and you're all sex and sophistication at once!

So there you have it, my amazing fashionistas! So simple to emulate and very easy to carry over from spring to summer to fall. I can guarantee you that you won't be the first lady-love you know to just wear a vest...but you might be the first to make it extra, extra LONG! Enjoy!

Milan Fashion Week: Zippers Hold Strong on the Runway and Victoria Beckham, Kate Beckinsale and Heather Graham Show Their Zipped-Up Style

Zippers_on_the_fall_runway_in_milan

There is something very, very sexy about zippers! I gather it's just the immediate gratification due to the ease at which the clothing can be removed from those sporting the piece. They add a touch of bad-ass to all ensembles...yet the look is HARD to pull off. It can come off as white-trashy and prostitutional (yes, you can add those to your fashion dictionary) if not donned correctly!

I'm sure, if you breezed through your present wardrobe, you'd see many pieces with zippered fronts, sides and hemlines. Sport them, pronto! I'm loving some of the above looks, from the Milan Runway shows. Featured designers, upper left and clockwise; Versace, Daks by Giles Deacon, Emilio Pucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Dsquared², Iceberg, Dsquared² and Iceberg. My fave look of the bunch is the show-stopping red sweater-dress at Iceberg. I'd rock that beaut for sure!

Check out these three sexy celebs, below, who've already jumped on the zipper sporting bandwagon; Victoria Beckham, Kate Beckinsale and Heather Graham. Each accented her own personal style with a zipped-up piece, boosting the sex-factor of their total ensemble, for sure!

Victoria_beckham_katie_beckinsale_a

So, what do you say lady-loves? Zippers are a H-O-T statement maker and easy to find. No need to bore you with speedy-savvy-stylin' options...you can handle this mission for sure. Zippers adorning skinny jeans, cable-knit sweaters, leather bombers and tight minis are all viable options! Hey, maybe even check out some sassy under-garments for a cheeky surprise...and on that last note, you better believe, my lil' lips are zipped!

CYEBT - Can You Even Believe This? Dsquared² Models Do the "Walk of Shame" on the Milan Runway

Dsquared_models_do_the_walk_of_sham

Walk of Shame - Phenomenon in which a person must walk past strangers or peers for an embarrassing reason before reaching a place of privacy. Most commonly, the morning after a night out at a bar, dance club, or party.

I seriously have to giggle about this one! And by the way, if you had NO IDEA what the "Walk of Shame" was...then you seriously did NOT party hard enough in college or you were a cutie-goody-goody-two-shoes! Either way...your liver is thanking you now, so don't fret! Did I endure a "walk" (or two) in my college years, you ask? You must know by now that a lady never tells! Enjoy!

P to the S: I'm also a proud-gal Sorority member! So no hard feelings there, either...k?

BOTB - Belle of the Ball - 2008 Oscars: Katherine Heigl, Amy Adams, Heidi Klum, Jennifer Hudson and Anne Hathaway

Best_dressed_at_the_2008_oscars_jen

Ahhhhh...there is just soooooo much to love about the Oscars! First of all, I get to seriously revel in the mere idea of EVER sporting some of the biggest/best jewels, adorning the neckslines and ear-lobes of numerous celebs! The stunners always glimmer, impress and shine brightly on the TV screen and make my eyes twinkle. Ok, ok...enough about the jewels. I also love imagining myself in one of the more regal gowns, with train trailing behind me and practicing my former Prom Queen hand wave ("Elbow, elbow...wrist, wrist! Elbow, elbow...wrist, wrist!") Ok, enough about me...onto those gorgeous celebs and WHY we've deemed Heidi Klum our hottest red-dressed lady-love...and there were SOOO many gorgeous "reds" to chose from!

So myself and R.D. Hub were invited to a fun-filled Oscar Watching Party at a friend's home. Seriously, though R.D. Hub is always one to watch ANY five-hour awards shows with me (golf claps for his greatness)...I must say that I did find it quite intriguing to see what the other women in the room thought about certain jewels/gowns and who the guys 'ooohed and aaaaahed' over! One thing's for sure, we all seriously LOVED the entire ensembles that were sported by Katherine Heigl and Anne Hathaway. I actually heard the host say, about Anne Hathaway, "Wow, she's pretty...she really is quite pretty!" Sometimes it just takes men a bit longer, wink! Luxurious and rich in red, both leading ladies oooozed style and sophistication in their red-hot choices! Red, as you can see above, was the COLOR of the night. But these three featured best-dressed lady-loves, ROCKED some seriously stylish red!

Amy Adams was featured ONE TOO MANY times, singing and dancing to her Enchanted tunes...but we weren't so impressed by that = B-O-R-I-N-G! She did steal the heart of the little one watching at our party last night...but hells bells, it's not like the majority of the viewing audience is under 1 years old, right? We are VERY impressed by her perfect choice of gown color (emerald green = matches her eyes) and gold itty-bitty clutch. Amy looked ravishing, so she found an easy spot on our Top 5 for Oscar ensembles!

Onto Jennifer Hudson! Though this look might not be a fan-fave with everyone...if you watched the show last night, you would know WHY I've chosen former Oscar winner. In her white Roberto Cavalli gown, Miss Hudson walked on-stage to present an award with complete confidence, poise, and elegance. You could tell SHE was wearing the gown...NO, that gown was not wearing her. She honestly made this gown look good! Loved her in white, too!

And, last but not least...drum-roll please! Heidi Klum looked beyond stunning, gorgeous, regal, sexy, sophisticated and downright beautiful! Red, the color of the night, came alive on ther awesome hot-body-karate! I do not find myself wanting to walk in others shoes (LOVE my own life) very often...but this look on Heidi Klum last night, ummmm...has me wanting to actually BID ON HER DRESS, too and pretty much be her for a night! Yes, in my mind...Heidi Klum stole the show!

So that's all I have for you on the dress-front...but I DID make a small collage featuring some of my PERSONAL fave moments from the Oscars Award Show below. What are they? Below, clockwise from upper left; the seriously adorable and talented 11 year old actress, Jamia Simone Nash, belting out a tune from her recent movie, August Rush. Then we had Robert Boyle receiving his honorary Oscar and was he EVER a long-winded fellow. The camera kept panning over to his OWN family, who were all yawns and totally uninterested. Awwww...poor guy! I know it's mean but many members of our Oscar watching party were humming the Oscar 'it's time to leave the stage' music. Laughter erupted because you know everyone in our party, and at the Oscars for that matter basically wanted to say, "Buddy...you're time is UP!"

Then there's the talented writer, Diablo Cody, of JUNO fame...girlfriend almost pulled a Britt-Britt on us, showing her bits-and-pieces! It was a near-miss...but she recovered and nothing slipped! Phew! Next fave, Jon Stewart called Markéta Irglová back onstage to finish her speech as she got cut off by that same 'leave the stage' music. She's from the gorgeous movie, Once (ummm...let me get a pause; if you haven't seen, you MUST!) and her speech was nearly as precious as she is.

Lastly, the most heartfelt and endearing speech of the night came directly from gorgeous Marion Cotillard's perfect pout for her Best Actress award-winning role in La Vie en Rose. She just slipped by on our Top 5 Best Dressed Belles of the Ball...she was absolutely stunning, as well! What a show...what a show! Enjoy!

London Fashion Week: Oversized and Exaggerated Ensembles Garner BIG Attention and Will Ferrell Shows His Support

Oversized_and_exaggerated_pieces_at

So, a few days ago we mentioned that oversized coats made a massive showing on the runway at New York Fashion Week (Click HERE for the Story). We giggled and made fun of the ridiculousness of the entire look. Well, unfortunately, London Fashion Week was chock-full of the same exaggerated and oversized pieces. Oh no, right?

In my little mind, there is absolutely nothing about this look that is feminine, attractive or even worthy of praise. I'm not really sure what all the designers are thinking, on this one! One thing's true, it will be very easy to emulate...just borrow your Dad's, Boyfriend's, Husband's or guy friend's jackets and over-coats and voila...you're runway ready!

Please do check out the pic, below, of Will Ferrell. He recently showed up at the premiere of his new movie, Semi-Pro, wearing an oversized suit that he claims he borrowed from, none other than, Shaq! Always the funny man, Ferrell doesn't seem to be the sort of man to stay on top of runway fashion so I'm definitely chalking this one up to coincidence. Even Ferrell makes the look, whole-heartedly, laughable! Enjoy!

London Fashion Week: The 80's Called and They Want Their Onesie Back

80s_style_onesies_on_the_london_run

Sorry...but...there...is...nothing...flattering...about...a...leotard...ONESIE! Seriously, please do not come back as a serious/stylish trend this season, dear onesie! I'm ALL for using you as a layering piece...but NOT as the entire ensemble as seen above, at Louise Goldin. Oh wait, but maybe if I just add some little tykes football pads (left pic from Louise Goldin) it will make everything better. W-R-O-N-G!

House of Holland is the only, wee-bit acceptable version in this collage of looks, but that's merely because the jacket and lace-up boots just rock and the pattern detracts from the point that it's an 'exposed' onesie, indeed. Disclaimer on this: Do not leave the house...try this only at home!

Wanting/Wishing/Wearing: Latex/Pleather Leggings at London Fashion Week and Spotted on Rihanna and Nicky Hilton

Christopher Kane and Topshop Unique both showed Collections complete with RunwayDaily's item du jour; pleather/leather leggings! Seriously, they garner some serious attention when I sport them...continual questions, "Where did you get those? They are so hot!" As a result, they've had some serious wardrobe rotation, as of recent!

Are you wondering what I pair them with? Platform black heels, scoop neck black bubble hem dress and a tight black vest. I've also worn them with a big camel-colored sweater and booties. One thing's a must when sporting such a bad-girl look...hold yourself with confidence, wear them with pride and seriously strut your stuff. You'll look irresistibly COOL in these skin-tight goodies, just like the two gorgeous gals below! Go Rihanna and Nicky Hilton...work those pleather gams!

Project Runway: Episode 12 - The Reunion Show and Christian Wins Fan Fave

Project_runway_reunion_episode_pict

Oh boy...oh boy! The last episode of Project Runway aired last night...and you know what that means? The finale is THAT MUCH CLOSER! It was the "Reunion Episode" with the entire cast of designers, judges and THE host chatting about fave memories, good laughs, extreme moments and this season's killer designs!

Please check out the still clips, from the episode, above. Love the group shot...with crazy but sweet, Elisa all chatting about her serious WEIRD-ness factor (top pic). Then the four amazingness's (yep, just made that one up)...Nina Garcia, Michael Kors, Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum, love these four oh so much! Seriously, this show ROCKS because they all add such extra spice and appeal! But I have to say, the bottom clip actually makes me crack up! If Chris and Rami didn't switch common facial expressions for this, then I have no idea what is going on! Mr. Expressive himself, Chris March (he's from San Francisco) is all stoic and reserved...while Rami, who's expressions usually resound under the former description, is making ONE HILARIOUS face! Love it! Love them! Can't wait to see WHICH ONE shows at Fashion Week for the finale!

And if you were even pondering who MIGHT be this year's fan-fave...ummm, none other than MY FAVE took the cake...and moolah, home with him! Golf claps to you, Christian!

London Fashion Week: Printed, Patterned and Painted Tights Make for Stylish Runway Gams

These tights are just so much FUN! Seriously, so many of them sauntered down the London Runways during Fall Fashion Week. I know many of the ensembles are a bit daring and hodge-podge...but imagine some killer printed tights with a monochrome ensemble? H-O-T! For instance, imagine this...a show-stopping, mini LBD and the MUSTARD colored snake-skin tights, featured above, at Jaeger London. Now that would be one SMOKIN' look for a night out on the town.

I'm a tights gal for sure. In my drawer I boast some purple, cerulean blue, light grey, black with itty bitty white dots and an array of fun fishnets...but PRINTED/PATTERNED tights have not found their way in RD's wardrobe, yet. Oh, I can assure you...they will! I'm aboslutely eating this look up and can't wait to sport a pair of floral printed goodies this Spring/Summer and then maybe a pair of earth-toned paisley's for Fall! Enjoy!

Copy-Cat(walk): Chris Benz Inspires Big Hat Love in London on Jaeger London's Fall Runway

Oh boy...we got another Copy-Cat in the HOUSE! Jaeger London showed an entire Fall Collection complete with over 15 floppy, look-alike Chris Benz Spring 2008 hats. Though the all-women Jaeger design team enlisted British milliner, Stephen Jones, to work his hat-making magic...I do want to point out the obvious similarities between the two!

Fashion combined with function is set aside when these exaggerated versions come to life...I'd be tripping everywhere if I actually sported one of these magnificent, full-brimmed, works of art. So, what do you think? Is the Copy-Cat strikingly apparent to you? Lastly, we all know many designers are inspired by their peers work on a constant basis...but do you think Jaeger went to far?

London Fashion Week: Cross Your Heart with a Side Slung Bag

Side_slung_bags_on_the_fall_londo_2

Love these bags! All over the Runways at London Fashion Week were side-slung bags. Other synonyms for these cross-hearted goodies; messenger, sling, saddle or cross-body bag! Whatever we want to deem them...one thing's for sure, they are CHIC!

Take a peek at the above collage and see the array of bag styles. Small and petite at House of Holland, a flat messenger version at Jaeger London and skinny straps at Eley Kishimoto and Paul Smith Women. I would actually bet some serious moolah that you have a big, right now, in the depths of your closet that can fit this side-sling mold perfectly! Or...do you have a bag with removable straps? Go to your local guitar shop, but a guitar strap then VOILA...hook it ON and cross your heart!

A few more looks from London Fashion Week to make sure, this new purse-sporting style, resonates with you! I do have to say, I'd steer clear of the furry versions, similar to the puff-ball at House of Holland (directly above) as it lends a feeling of raiding your 7 year old sister's closet! NOT cool!

Just keep an eye out for a luxurious leather messenger, a lady-like flat bag with a long strap or even a glittery nighttime clutch with removable strap can fulfill the need. I've provided some speedy-savvy-stylin' for you below. Just click on the thumbnail and you'll be directed RIGHT TO find out more about the bag and to maybe even buy! My top two from this grouping has got to be the Market Bag By Jaye Hersh or the Grand Canyon Saddlebag, with it's two 'must have' large front pockets! Love this look...this Spring and on into Fall...allow your bags to ride side-saddle!

Fashion Risktaker: The Oversized Coat Makes a BIG Showing at Marc Jacobs, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Michael Kors and Proenza Schouler

(Designers featured above, upper left and clockwise; 3.1 Phillip Lim, Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors)

The New York Runway Shows took on an exaggerated tone when the continual flow of oversized coats became apparent. At first, I saw the look at Marc Jacobs and just thought, "Silly Marc...how UN-flattering is this look on a woman's figure!" Moments later, glancing at looks from 3.1 Phillip Lim, Michael Kors and Proenza Schouler...I realized, a mini-trend is among us!

I must admit, I'm by no means crazy about this one. These women are stick-thin and the oversized coat STILL makes them look 'wide' and 'big.' Ewwww...who in their right mind wants that, except a clown. Honestly, I was struggling to explain the look to RunwayDaily Hub (he was also deeply engaged in some serious, futuristic sci-fi movie...so that might also be the problem). Men are visual creatures, so I just ran into his closet...threw his biggest blazer over my jeans and sweater and said, "Look, this is what is BIG on so many Runways!" (Pun intended) His facial expression said it all: "I'M...NOT...A...FAN!"

So, I'll leave this one up to you! If you're daring and bold...I recommend wearing the oversized coat under something super sexy and form-fitting. The juxtaposition of removing this large covering and then seeing something ravishing underneath might just do the trick...but for now, I'm earnestly staying on the other side of this BIG fence!
