Oh boy...can I just say Nick Arrojo is one of the nicest, funniest and charming men I've ever met! His charisma is captivating and his humble attitude toward his HUGE success is what truly makes him so appealing to nearly EVERYONE! Oh, and welcome to seeing what RunwayDaily (me) actually LOOKS like! Hope your not disappointed...cause me and my FIERCE new 'do are totally badass!
So RunwayDaily has been known to do a bit of modeling in her lifetime (great side moolah for me) and I recently landed a BIG hair show gig, here in San Francisco. After being one of four 'chosen models' it was time to meet with Nick for prep day...I was more nervous about my HAIR than meeting him, ha!
Yes, he was, as expected, BEYOND easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable (knew this from watching "What Not to Wear"). Knowing I was in great 'hair-cutting' hands...he convinced me to trust his skill and be open to cutting MORE THAN the alloted 10 inches we had originally agreed on. Shaking, and shaking hands, I left the studio knowing the next day my hair would most likely be UP TO MY EARS...eeeeek! Obviously, not my best night of sleep! My entire modeling portfolio is chock-full of the "long-haired" RunwayDaily...I was scared of the new 'do for sure! (Notice the nervous laughter in the before picture, above!)
But low and behold, the next morning I awoke knowing my 'personal look' was about to take on a very drastic change. Nick told me that I'd now have hair I could "style" and really look in the mirror and say to myself, "That's FIERCE!"
Out on stage, in front of hundreds of on-lookers, Nick Arrojo worked his magic and much to RunwayDaily Hubby's dismay, chopped off TWO HUGE pony-tails with ease. He then talked about the donation I would make to LOCKS OF LOVE and held them up like two little lifeless ferrets! Seriously...I can still see him standing there in front of me...with my two chopped off 14 inch pony-tails in each hand, smiling down at me, so proud...and chatting about how this HAIR would be made into a wig for a child with cancer! Yes, it was a grand moment indeed! (Notice the sheer enjoyment in the after picture above with my new cut...and the combo pic below shows MY HAIR being chopped on the jumbo-tron!)

Bonus...he even asked, at the end of the cut...for RunwayDaily Hub to give him a "thumbs-up" from the audience! I saw his awesome thumb stick WAY up in the back...and a SMILE from ear to ear...his approval? Cha-ching...he's all smiles!
Nick Arrojo was honestly a hair cutting genius...layering my hair and using a razor (a first, for my virgin hair). No color was/has ever been added to this gal's locks...so it was just the drastic cut I was booked for. Am I happy I did it? Satisfied? Hells to the yeah! This gal's head feels seriously, 20 lbs. lighter...and the ease of throwing on all my FUN hats and just racing out the door has already cut back my 'preparation' time in half, makes it that much more worth it!
But the most rewarding aspect of the entire modeling gig, was honestly NOT meeting Nick and the wonderful payment for booking the show (which was all just fantastic)...no, no, noooo my dears! It's imagining a gorgeous young woman (similar to the recipient below) that will be given, via wig form, my donated locks from this amazing program, LOCKS OF LOVE! I can only imagine the joy these children/teens receive upon wearing a new and completely stylish hairpiece! It's my second donation to Locks of Love...and I just wanted to share that nearly EVERYONE can, and should, donate once in their lifetime.
So go extreme...I'm so glad I did! Fun new 'do for spring and summer...and hair shouldn't define 'who' you are anyways...it should only be an accessory to our style! And this, my loves, is precisely what Nick said to me that HAD me convinced! I'm only hoping there was someone else in the audience, that day, who decided to also donate. Or, please DO email me, if one of you makes the decision to go under the chopping block for Locks of Love, too! Enjoy!
