Fashion Risktaker: Fanny Packs at Coachella

You know you wore a fanny pack at least ONCE in your lifetime...come on? No fibbing! Well it seems, the former 90's accessory craze is slowly creeping back for it's second go-round! I will willingly admit that when we were in Italy I nearly splurged on one at Gucci, a small and lady-like version, until I realized the ONLY place I'd be caught dead wearing it was indeed...ONLY in Italy! So I skipped over it and put those Euros to good use on some gorgeous Italian leather purses...that still kill my shoulders to this day!

One thing's certain...Sydney Baker and model Stephanie Braniff (above) really do look quite stylish and put-together in their fanny packs. The lady-loves, spotted concert hopping at Coachella, via Style.com, are giving their shoulders a rest! I'm totally loving that Miss Braniff slung hers to the back, but both their ensembles are pretty stellar, indeed.

One thing that fanny pack 100% has going for it is the total avoidance of a cramped shoulder. This is the one thing I commonly get when carrying some of my heavier leather purses (uh humm - Kooba and Gustto, that's YOU) but the weight isn't quite enough to make me hang those gorgeous 'girls' up, just yet!

I will say that a certain woman in my life made me truly believe that fanny packs are purely elegant. I was a nanny in Cape Cod during my college summers and my "Nanny-Mom" rocked some fanny pack, on a daily basis. Nanny Mom was about 5'10" and BEYOND naturally gorgeous...she made the fanny pack look amazingly...cool! Yes, C-O-O-L! So yes, I think this is something that has serious fashion potential! With that said, maybe for your next hike, shopping trip or concert, you will get up the nerve to now sport a fanny pack with complete stylish pride! Come on, I dare you!
