Accessory Trend: Tapestry Bags a la Gucci's Hysteria Collection

Lilly donaldson for gucci hysteria collection tapestry bags

If you're an avid reader, you've already learned about my obsession with Gucci's Fall 2008 Collection - HERE, HERE and HERE! Yep, we love some Gucci Fall. Instead of highlighting the Fall Gucci garments, we're focusing more on their accessory collection, as it's already getting some note-worthy attention.

The Gucci Hysteria Collection may have already popped up on your radar and possibly made your early Christmas list...Christmas in July, anyone? The bags featured on their Fall Runway blew me away...and their campaign featuring Lilly Donaldson (above) is nothing to fret about. It ROCKS! Check out the youtube video too...the Ivory Tapestry goodness is shown about a minute in.

Many a blogger has also been chatting up this Collection, definitely increasing its popularity among the fashion-savvy and obsessed (check those out - HERE and HERE). Today we're focusing on the tapestry bags, as I forsee it as one of Fall's hottest, go-to items. Check the bags being worked on the Fall Runway below. And don't hesitate to make your own tapestry fashion statement, as I've provided some reasonable speedy-savvy-stylin' too! Enjoy!

Outfit Inspiration: Day to Night Ensembles à la Fine Art by Max's 'Bright Sky'

Bright sky

(Click for More Info and Where to BUY!)

So summer is winding down and you should all be uber tan, except for me and the lack of San Francisco sun and our Southern Hemisphere readers who are enjoying their winter months. Whenever I am tan, one of my favorite colors to wear is bright orange. It accentuates a glowing hue and makes the apples of my cheeks just a wee bit brighter. So, glancing through Fine Art by Max's website, I couldn't help but he drawn to his Bright Sky painting...and for $50 it's quite the steal.

Strong yellow, orange, purple and green tones jump out immediately. Following Bright Sky's color palette, I've given you the perfect example of how to make one T-shirt dress work for day and night time looks, above. The Vanessa Bruno layered silk dress is a great way to incorporate your summer-wear into Fall.

The addition of a low-slung brown leather belt provides a hippy/bohemian feel and remember, dear readers, always add a pop of color - this time with some COLORFUL TIGHTS. Metallic heels top off the nighttime ensemble, a prime wardrobe for a girl's night out. I also want you to make a statement with your lips, as dark red lips were one of the hottest trends in makeup on all the Fall Runways...so paint the town AND your lips a bold and statement-making, red! Enjoy!

Fashion Faux Pas: Solange Knowles, Jessica Simpson and Rihanna

Fashion faux pas - solange knowles, jessica simpson and rihanna

Ay yay yay...this isn't good! We love to give fashion props/GOLD STARS to numerous celebs that have style and grace and need to be rewarded for their great ensemble choices. Today we're featuring three ladies whose personal style choices just didn't meet our marks. Explanation below:

Solange Knowles - We love her metallic blouse, HIGH-WAISTED skirt, big BLACK BAG and killer booties. As for her tights, they just have to g-o! They'd possibly rock out with another, more casual ensemble. Maybe Solange should have traded in those crazy bright pink ones for some more modern opaque or a dark grey plaid version. Ugly is the word comes to mind when glancing at these leaf/rooster (?) printed crazies. Solange - trash 'em today, lady!

Jessica Simpson - Perfectly flowing blonde hair: check! Big white smile: check! Cute PLAID shirt: check! Three pieces of turquoise accessories: BLECH! Lingerie corset worn with jeans: BLECH! Though we love our TURQUOISE accessories, keep the look minimal. Don only ONE, with the exception to this rule being if you sport earrings and a cocktail ring. There so far apart on your body, it's not color overload. But honestly, wear only a solo piece of turquoise if you're even double guessing your look at all. As for the corset...Jess should have left this one for a late night with Tony and not worn it on stage. It's so sassy trashy!

Rihanna - Love the shirt, love the GLADIATORS...dont' love them together. If you sport loud and attention getting prints, make sure your shoes are toned down and don't compete. If you love to wear wow shoes, then make sure your ensemble is less noticeable and allows your shoes to do the talkin! Rihanna loves some WOW accessories (check out her hoops) but this outfit is a dud in my book. Imagine the look with all black gladiators, so sleek and allowing the printed top to glow. Or, how about a black tank with white vest...her Balenciaga sandals would then take the front seat! Enjoy and please don't make these same mistakes, my fashionable readers!

Gold Star Celeb Style: Nicole Richie, Audrina Patridge, Beyonce, Heidi Klum and Ali Larter

Gold star celeb style

Gold stars, gold stars...we love our GOLD STARS here at RunwayDaily! And you have to really earn a Gold Star. Today, we're highlighting five starlets and giving our girl Beyonce the big Golden Goodie. Each ladies chic look highlights different thoughts/trends we've mentioned in the last few months. We want to make sure we give you some prime examples on how to work your Summer fashions into Fall and flaunt your supremely stylish self all the time. So, let's take a second and evaluate why these five ladies caught our eye.

First up, Nicole Richie looks Cali-cool in her WIDE LEG JEANS and black tank top. She topped off the look with a darker FALL FLORAL blouse and a OVERSIZED BLACK BAG by Balenciaga (purrrr...love it...want it!) Then we have the uber adorable and sun-lovin' Audrina Patridge. She's oh so tan and that TURQUOISE/OCEAN BLUE dress makes her glimmer like the gorgeous Caribbean water. Her barefoot feet and tousled locks create a look that just screams relaxation and seems pretty easy to emulate, too.

Beyonce looks effortlessly classic and trendy in her casual daytime ensemble. Glancing, from the bottom up, her RED HOT HEELS and skinny jeans show off this ladies serious curves and raise up the sex appeal. Her LONG SCARF and GREY BAG are a perfect compliment to her casual T and neutral accessories. Love this look...maybe because it's SO similar to my own personal style? Hmmm...oh, I don't know...just really like what I see, A LOT! Lookin' good B...you're lookin' good!

Up next, one of my fave fashion mavens. The glorious Heidi Klum has pushed her OVER THE KNEE boots down and worn them slouchy for daytime. Her leather bomber jacket and dark accessories make this a really tough and rocker chick look...we all know Heidi has a sweet side so it's fun to see her bad girl exposed. Last, but not least, the ever classy Ali Larter works those gorgeous gams in some DENIM CUT OFFS and STRAP HAPPY heels. A flowy Summer BLOUSE underneath and an adorable CROPPED JACKET truly polish off this look and make this one ensemble I absolutely adore! Tres chic to all five adorable ladies!

Personal Style: "Fido Fashion" - à la Numerous Celebrity Dog Owners

Fido fashion - what celebs wear when they walk their dog

So, in addition to a new beautiful BABY in the fam...RD Hub and I are getting really close to adding our own lil' hairy baby...one that goes woof woof! We've already started checking out lil' puppies a different breeders and are getting the house all puppy-proof. It's more time consuming that you think. Naturally, when the itty bitty fur-ball is chosen and brought home, you better believe I'll post a pic for you.

Becoming a new puppy-mommy has me paying closer attention to some Fido Fashion. I'm not such a fan of the doggy clothing, but more what the human-folk wear when they walk their pooches. I thought the looks that I'd most likely emulate walking my cutie, here in San Francisco, would be Kate Bosworth and Rachel Bilson's ensembles. Casual and laid back...that's usually how I roll. Which looks most like you? Enjoy!

First Look: Killer Scarves from the Fall Runway Shows

Scarves on the fall 2008 runway - how to wear it

Woo woo, woo woo! I love me a killer scarf! Seriously, so chic and so accessible...scarves come in every shape, color, print and texture imaginable. This Fall, scarves were worn in ways that even I have never sported, but I wanted to be sure to share them with you...pronto!

Above, some scarf looks to wet your palette. Big and bulky was a surefire highlight on the runway. So warm and cozy, you can almost get lost in these scarves. Cross your heart is a scarf tying trick that I will be sure to emulate soon. Easy, breezy...just tie a big knot and pull the front flap over. LONG SCARVES are back again this season...but I just adored the tucked in versions, too. How chic is this? I can't wait to tuck my scarf into the lapels of my fitted blazers and then cinch it all together with a big belt...so stylish and put together! More to come, below...

More scarves on the fall 2008 runway - hot to wear it

Scarves were even seen wrapped tightly around the neck, in a fringed belted version and also in a triangular look that resembles the VERY CONTROVERSIAL keffiyeh (that I love to don). How about just wrapping until you're out of scarf and then tucking the ends? Love that look (above, bottom left). And not to worry your pretty lil' head...the scarves have that covered too, along with your LADY-LIKE shoulders.

So, as you can see, the scarf is a functional piece that I tend to love to use in numerous ways and not just as a Cali cool fashion statement. I've provided some stellar speedy-savvy-stylin' below with some great deals and eye-catching scarves. Even if it is blazing hot where you are, use an adorable scarf as a makeshift picnic blanket or beach cover-up! Enjoy!

A-list Accessory: Red Hot Bags Part Deux - Rachel Bilson, Mena Suvari, Jessica Simpson, Eva Longoria and Rosie Perez

Celebs and stars carrying red bags

Nothing strikingly new and overly exciting, but just trying to get my point across, dear readers. Red bags are still an uber fashionable look among Hollywood's elite trendsetters. They're a red hot and are a great way to add a pop of color. We featured the gorgeous goodies on 5 other celebs back in December 2007, HERE. Jessica is the only reoccurrence to the group that's featured here today. But her new bag puts her previous one to shame...I'm completely drooling over it!

You have so many choices, it's hard to know where to start. I've added some speedy-savvy-stylin' below and have broken it up into two price categories. Hey, when times are tough, a classic shaped bag on super sale is something worth splurging for...right? Most def. You have choices in the range of $150-infinity and those bags ringin' in under $150. At $63, the Big Buddha Tiny Dancer Bag has absolutely caught my eye and you might just see it featured on this ladies little shoulder through the coming Fall. Enjoy and here's to hopin' you find that perfect red bag that should last you into next Summer too!

Trench coats on the fall 2008 runway

There's just something so sleek and stylish about a great trench coat. Perfect for Fall but sooooo on sale right now! A rainbow of trenches sauntered down numerous designers Fall 2008 catwalk. Take a cue, there isn't a better time to stock up on a hot new trench for the cooler, coming weather...than NOW!

I was awe-struck by some of the choices in my speedy-savvy-stylin' below and even more ready to indulge when I noticed the low, low prices! Seriously, check them out. A Helene Berman White Linen gorgeousness for $112 (originally $378). And how about the DKNY Active Trench for $78.90? Um, that just might make it into MY closet, pronto! I love those pockets and, well, its...casual and 'active' look. I won't even mention all the Target goodies as one of those trenches will cost you less than two Frappucinos...not kidding!

In addition to the speedy-savvy-stylin' below, my RD inbox recently received an adorable FORD Model Video all about trench coats; such...perfect...timing! It features a very well spoken blonde model and all her takes on how to make a trench coat the most versatile piece in your closet. Honestly, I love some of her great styling ideas! She looks adorable in the opener in her flare trench, skinny jeans and metallic flats. I recently rocked a bright yellow trench over a lil' cocktail dress and just like she stated...I felt REALLY sexy! So enjoy and get to trench shopping...before those prices spike up and everyone's jumped on the bandwagon already. Believe me, it'll be a great transition coat before the killer winter weather arrives!

How to Wear It: White Hot Looks Took Center Stage at Lollapalooza

White looks from lollapalooza 2008

Summer concert series are underway and that has every fashionista scrambling for the coolest, most creative and wearable ensemble. Concert goers have this 'free pass' to virtually wear WHATEVER they want, no judgement. As the summer heat settles upon them...the layers always get fewer and the skin starts a'showin! Love it!

Here in San Francisco a blazing hot day is few and far between. But I've spent much of my life growing up in Florida and then living in Australia/the Caribbean...I KNOW heat!  And I know how hard it is to dress for those scorching hot days. Your best bet is something WHITE HOT! You know we adore some WINTER WHITE but above is an array of concert goers that added white pieces to their creative ensembles at Lollapalooza, last weekend. White is one of the coolest (temperature) colors to don, so for a hot day...it's a stellar option!

I just HAVE to point out the colorful look (above - bottom row, middle) and why I added it. Her adorable WHITE KEDS are something we've mentioned before and are such a stylish way to add a pop of white into your look. So fresh and so clean...aren't they? She's daring to wear them to a music festival...hopefully they left in the same bright shade as when she arrived! So, do me a favor and just add a bit of white into your weekend wear. Above, fun and playful examples for you to get inspired...enjoy!

Fashion Risktaker: Double Sided/Two-Tone Tights at Chanel Fall 2008

Chanel - double sided tights - fall 2008

Mark...my...words! I'm calling this THE next big accessory that Chanel churns out. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think it's going to be the next quilted bag...BUT I do think these double-sided tights are going to be one VERY copied accessory for the upcoming Fall/Winter seasons.  Do you dig? Seriously, I absolutely adore them. Would I sport them? You better believe it. I think they'll evoke either uber array of compliments or looks of complete confusion. One thing's certain, I'd walk confidently in them.

Do take notes, my avid readers, because I'll bet you some serious moolah that H&M and Forever 21 (and all the other retail giants that copy-cat Runway looks every season) will be ALL over this...in no time! So what do you say? Are you tempted to keep the double sided only to that tape that sits on that pretty lil' desk of yours? Not me...these are accessory I'm coveting as one of my winter staples! Love them! Enjoy!

Wardrobe Essential: Top Ten Buys for a Fashionable Fall - Perfect Fit Trouser

Number 1 to buy for fall - perfect fit trouser

Don't be sad...but this does conclude our Fall "Top Ten Buys" to be uber-fashionable!  Last in, and coming in at NUMERO UNO (meaning - muy importante) is the Perfect Fit Trouser.  Many of my devoted readers could have probably guessed this was going to be number one, as I've been singing her praises; HERE, HERE and HERE!

The trouser has taken on a whole new life-form in Fall's lineup of top fashion looks!  Honestly, this one was the most apparent trend because I can honestly say that 75% of the hundreds of designers showed at least ONE look donning a trouser.  Don't limit yourself to just the classic, wide-leg look...branch out, and fill a new trouser right up!

I'd be thoroughly upset if you don't already own a black pair from all those college nights out. Resurrect those and while you're at it, get your hands on a fresh new pair. Think plaid, brown, tapered, cropped and even pegged (aka - tight rolled at the ankle will do, a la KATIE HOLMES' recent obsession). But do tune-in tomorrow...do you hear me?  Check back tomorrow...I just might have a killer pair of Fall trousers waiting here for you! Enjoy...till then!

Gorgeous Green Gal: Tierra Del Forte for Del Forte Denim - Perfect Green Jeans

Gorgeous green gal - del forte denim are green jeans

We haven't chatted about any Green Good for a while.  Our last Green Gal, Summer Rayne Oakes, actually gave RunwayDaily a shout-out of thanks on her blog, HERE!  Cheers to that!  So today we're featuring Tierra Del Forte for Del Forte Denim. Probably a line that Oakes has even sported, a time or two. I've learned some amazing facts while browsing Del Forte's site.  Let me re-cap some of this green good...and who knows, it might just have you laying down your fave denim and picking up an organic pair of Del Forte's, pronto!

Non-Organic Cotton Goods:
- It takes 2/3 of a pound of pesticides to make one pair of jeans
- 1/3 of a pound to make a single T-shirt
- Five of the top nine pesticides used in cotton production in the US
(cyanide, dicofol, naled, propargite, and trifluralin)
   are known cancer-causing chemicals
- Pesticides have been responsible for birth defects, respiratory problems,
behavioral changes, infertility, sterility, and hormonal imbalances
- 60 percent of a cotton crop, by weight, enters the food chain in the
form of cottonseed oil which is used widely in processed foods,
and as cottonseed feed for cows

Organic Cotton Goods:
- Organically grown cotton has been produced without the use of
   chemical fertilizers and pesticides
- A field must be pesticide free for three years for the cotton to be
   certified organic
- (Organic field's) are safe for consumers, the farmers and workers who grow it
   and the natural environment
- Del Forte - "Organic is win-win for everyone. Customers love it,
ecologically responsible mills get rewarded, organic farms profit
and I get to feel good about the fabric I use."

How can we/you/me not support this?  And just a mention, the denim looks are ADORABLE, to boot! Glancing above, you can see the WIDE LEG cuties and cropped skinnies are a great way to add a pair of Del Forte's into your rotation. I earnestly hope this makes you think about your next denim purchase. It sure has shed a light on the situation for me. Even though most of our household products, cleaners and food are all organic...I just really haven't delved into organic clothing, as of yet. This might be the push I needed.  Enjoy and some speedy-savvy-organic denim-stylin' for you below!

Wardrobe Essential: Top Ten Buys for a Fashionable Fall - Your Best Belt Ever

Number 1 accessory for fall - your best belt ever

Have you been on the edge of your seat anxiously awaiting Runway Daily's Number ONE picks for Fall Fashion? I hope so. But, now worries as there's no more waiting to be had...the Numero Uno Accessory for Fall is, drum roll please...voila, a Belt.  But not just any belt. Oh no...this is, "Your Best Belt Ever."

What exactly does this mean? I'm one to say that I do not tend to spend over $100 for a belt. Honestly, the most expensive belt I've purchased must be around $50 and that was daring, in my book! But this Fall, I'm turning over a new leaf and expect the same of you. Belts have long been a fashion staple for an awe-inspiring ensemble. They ran rampant on the Fall 2008 Runways (above) and have been a key item in many of fave looks over the last few years.

So, instead of wearing the same belts you have in your closet, invest in a more expensive version...maybe even delving into the luxury category. The belt is here to stay!  It is the hottest accessory that you can add to your look for a polished and fashion-forward feel!  Enjoy and go get belted, pronto!

What to Buy Now: Nordstrom Anniversary Sale - Men's Oversized Watch

Nordstrom anniversary sale

We here at Runway Daily take serious pride in sharing awesome sales with you. It was R.D. Hubby's Birthday a few days ago so I was a happy girl...just a shop, shop, shoppin' away, all over town. Oh stop it, I was totally good and only bought stuff for him!

I stopped into Nordstrom to get some fancy-shmancy men's sunscreen and couldn't help but notice all the big RED signs blaring my favorite four-letter word, back at me; S-A-L-E! Woo hoo! I just had to make sure you knew how great of a sale this is, as all prices go UP on Monday, August 4th.

So put those stellar and comfy shoppin' flats on...get to your local Nordstrom and make a day of it! There were so many adorable shoes on sale, just couldn't wrap myself around a pair...just yet! Drool-worthy bags also stood out as I'm lusting for the GREY Elliott Lucca Pocket Shopper...one day, one day!

I've added some speedy-savvy-stylin' below because I'm not a watch-wearer (I literally never know the time or date) but all the gorgeous sale watches laid out nicely on the counter drew all the gabbing shoppers in like a flock of seagulls to a hamburger bun.  No joke...it was me and about 4 other women just ooohing an ahhhhhing over the sale goodies. We chatted about LEATHER BANDS earlier but there are some surefire steals in the metallic watch category.

Did I buy anthing?  Nope...I was a good girl and left with bags full of only guy stuff for the Hub's Birthday. And that type of self-control deserves its own pat on the back...doesn't it?  Truthfully, I know I'll be back before the 4th, ha! Enjoy!
