Olsens twins unveil their influence book

We told you HERE first...the point is back! Pointy toed heels were making a statement on all FOUR feet of the adorable Olsens as they launched their new book Influence at Barneys, on Monday night. Though many of you may have retired or donated your witch-like goodies...if they are in the way back of your closet, bring them out for some more mileage as they were all over the Fall runway! Enjoy and ps, I totally want their book too!

Image Creators: FotoMOJO - Fashion Photography Genius

Chrisford

Fashion photographer Christopher Ford uses mojo to get the hottest fashion shots. Ford, a Los Angeles fashion photographer, became known as “Mojo” for his uncanny ability to create a vibe or a chemistry where ever he goes. Ford picked up photography as a serious hobby in 2003 then left his legal career and moved into professional photography in 2004, establishing his namesake, fotoMOJO (www.fotomojosm.com) in San Francisco, CA. Though Ford’s work has always been inspired and influenced by fashion, he claims he isn’t himself a fashionista.

“I just recognize good fashion when I see it,” says Ford, 39 and with his own trendy style, wears spiked hair, aviator sunglasses, and a long-sleeve collared shirt, only half tucked into a pair of hip-hugging, gingham checked trousers from H&M. “But, good fashion, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.”

His style is nothing less than unique with a perspective that details color and texture, while capitalizing on dramatic shadow depth. It leaves a visceral and lasting impression that viewers connect with, and each piece of work he creates becomes a deeply personal portrait. “Clothing is art; it has a life of its own that reflects the personality of the designer. You can feel it.” Says Ford, speaking of the method to his photographic wizardry.

Modeelectrique

In early April, 2008, Ford orchestrated “Mode.électrique - A Couture Editorial”, a feature editorial exposé of The Pink Line by Baily Rose, a Denver, CO “street couture” designer (photo above). He placed four models on the rough terrain of a San Francisco Bay Area power plant to create what he pens, “a Euro-style fashion editorial with a French influence.” Ford’s science fiction creations on mode.électrique appeared in print ads and clothing labels for the line.

David Durkee (www.daviddurkee.com), long-time friend to Ford, provided production assistance for the mode.électrique project. Durkee said, “the set was brilliant, and the talent worked very hard. We traveled a distance, and it was freezing cold, but the team pulled together to bring Chris' big ideas into reality and he got the great shots.”

Merlin

Driven by his passion, Ford relocated his studio to Los Angeles in September, to be closer to California’s fashion and entertainment industries. Within three weeks of his arrival, he was commissioned by celebrity fashion designer, Merlin Castell (www.merlincastell.com) to produce a set of publicity photos for the designer (featured above and below).

Castellred

Ford admits he has a special place in his heart for haute couture, and Castell certainly resonates in the arena. Recently featured on the Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency show (Oxygen / Tuesday nights), Castell and his designs have appeared on Eye on LA, The Insider, Premier Impacto, Dancing with the Stars, on red carpets at just about every gala Hollywood event, and in print in Bello, Vicious and many others. His lavish designs are made-to-order and have been sold direct, at Saks Fifth Avenue, as well as in high-end boutiques.

"Although my clothing was first for men, women were buying it. It was amazing, so I had to move into the heavy competition, designing clothing for women," states the Honduran born designer, Castell.

In spring, Castell will launch his new clothing line which includes a dress that can be used for a formal dinner or turned into an elegant garment for a cocktail party...and you KNOW I can't wait to see that!

Castell and Ford have already begun collaborating photo shoot concepts for the Spring collection. “I am very excited to work with Merlin again, and this time, exploring his beautiful designs with my camera,” says Ford. “After only a few weeks, I’ve been commissioned by a fashion icon - that’s big, very big. The energy drives me to push harder, and it just tells me that if you really work hard, despite tragedy, the possibilities really are endless.”

How to Wear It: Runway Inspired - Cropped Jackets and Long Gloves

Cropped jackets and long gloves on the fall 2008 runway

So, Fall is officially in full swing and as the cooler temperatures drop in your area, you might be wondering what to do with all your Spring and Summer Cropped Jackets? Well, fear not. Put those babies to good use. Layering a Cropped Jacket over some long gloves is a really chic alternative to a common pea coat or blazer. Also, should your entire ensemble be black and grey, add a pop of color with some eye-catching gloves.

I've added some speedy-savvy-stylin' below, with everything (yes, EVERYTHING) under $50. I'm sure you have a cropped jacket in your wardrobe, but splurge on some long gloves too and you'll have a Runway inspired look in no time. Check out some of the Fall 2008 Runway looks above for inspiration...this is a look I will definitely be sporting all this Fall. Enjoy!

Personal Peek: Chic Halloween Decor and an Easy Costume Idea

Halloween - orange and black looks from the runway

I absolutely LOVE Halloween...and it's only one week away! This year, RD Hubby and I have decided to throw a Halloween Party and we just can't wait. One problem, last weekend we were supposed to get much of our decor shopping done but our sweet baby ZOLA got sick and ended up in the puppy hospital. So, she's finally a rambunctious and funny puppy again after a week of R&R...so we feel she can join us on our shopping trip tomorrow. I've jump started my creative surge with some fun additions via some speedy-savvy-stylin' below.

We are also on the search for some original costume ideas. We're going to hit up vintage and second hand stores...along with the usuals (ie: Target, Wal Mart). We're really struggling this year for costume ideas...some that have been thrown around the RD Household; Wayne's World, Braveheart and His Lady that Died (not my fave, think Hubby just wants to look tough in a kilt), The Incredibles, and Wizard of OZ (as we have our 'Toto' now).

Well, if you're really as confused about what to be as we are...you can always opt for a super cute orange dress, as seen in some of the Fall 2008 Runway Collections above. Don't just wear it alone...add some black Jack-O-Lantern cut outs and voila...you're one cute lil' pumpkin! Enjoy and remember, you only have a WEEK...eeeeeek!

Wanting/Wishing/Wearing: Crafty and Bright - Knits for Fall

Crafty knits on the runway

I'm loving the Fall Weather for many reasons, but one key reason is the resurrection of all my chunky knits. I have quite the assortment but some of my newest fave are brightly colored and fearlessly fun. Taking a cue from these five Runway shows above, bright colored knits in stripes, prints and designs are sure to be HOT this Fall.

For a change, steer clear of the blacks/browns/greys that we all commonly purchase and do be sure to try on some crafty colors for a change. Your mood will be uplifted and a soft and luxurious bright knit can transition well into Springtime. Some speedy-savvy-stylin' below, just to get your knit shopping juices flowing. Breeze through them as you can even purchase the EXACT cropped sweater at DKNY, above. Enjoy!

Fab Fall Fash: Bustiers - Beyond Sexy

Celebs in bustier

So, we're obviously on a cleavage enhancing kick these last few days. Chatting about showing some brasserie YESTERDAY, a la Heidi Klum, and now the feminine and beyond sexy bustiers that have been popping up on my recent radar. Checking out the looks above, you cannot deny that all five of these women look smokin' hot in their uplifting frocks. Elizabeth Hurley's look is a bit much for my taste (reign those girls in).

On the contrary, seeing Ashley Olsen and Paris Hilton (neither having a huge chest) looking exquisite and pretty in bustiers makes this an option I'm ready to try! Check out my speedy-savvy-stylin' below and don't be afraid to wear a bustier(ed) goodie outside of the bedroom this Fall. Believe me, it's destined to heat things up...enjoy!

Fashion Risktaker: Heidi Klum's Signature Style - Peek a Boo Bra

Heidi klum - see through shirts - peek a boo bra

I know we've mentioned how hot and sexy we think peek-a-boo bras are HERE. This is a serious fashion risktaker as it's really hard to get just right...can come off a bit trashy, if you get my drift. Heidi honestly can't do much wrong, in my eyes, when glancing through her many amazing fashion choices. The mom of three always looks so smoking hot and stylish. I must say...this is a style I might start sporting. A black bra and a metallic SHEER shirt or a white bra underneath a sheer red or black blouse. Throw on some LIBRARIAN SPECS and you'll look too smart and chic for your own good. Lovin' this look and something tells me, Rd Hub will approve too! Enjoy!

Reader Fave/Rave: Trinity F is Craving Long Legged Leggings

Celebs in long leggins

I have some long legs and tend to buy ankle leggings. They always tend to creep way up and eventually turn into cropped length after a few washings. There's nothing that annoys me more...grrrrrr! So, Trinity F who has a few more inches on me, is in desperate search for some long legged leggings. I think I am too! I'm sick of cheapie leggings that don't last and have only a few wears. As usual, I've added some celeb shots, above, to get your fashionista brain a tickin' for legging ensembles!

Trinity F mentioned possibly wanting the type that bunch around the ankle, so I've given her some great options to spice up her Fall/Winter Wardrobe in this area (I've already learned HERE that RD Hub doesn't like ankle bunches so keep that in mind if a man's opinion matters to you). Leggings aren't going anywhere, anytime soon, so it might be one of those staples that you spend a bit more on this year. When I was recently flying back with ZOLA BELLE, I wore leggings on my two long flights and was I ever pleased that I did. They are so comfortable, cozy and warm.

My fave from the speedy-savvy-stylin' below are the European Culture Leggings by Yoox for $60 and the Romeo & Juliet Couture Black Jersey Cheetah at Bluefly for $28. Both options would get some serious wear and rotation in my Fall/Winter wardrobe! I truly do think that longer leggings (all the way to the ankle) are much more flattering than the cropped or knee-length versions. If you already own a shorter length, just pair some knee-high boots over them. Maybe even ponder splurging on a killer pair of long leggings this season. You'll thank me later...enjoy!

How to Wear It: Fall Floral à la Leighton Meester, Lake Bell, Dr. Lisa Airan and Coco Rocha

Fall floral

As I told you before, Summertime Floral was just HOT and now Fall Floral is soooo cool! But how to wear it? Don't even think that your Fall Floral has to be only dark and dreary. Adding some Fall colored accessories can downplay even the brightest Floral frock. Please check out the four gorgeous Fall Floral looks above! Leighton Meester chose a floral in a subdued and nude palette along with her POINTY TOED nude heels. The pop of color comes from her fantastic waist-cinching red belt. Love it!

Next up, the ever present Lake Bell shows up how to look hippie-chic but still wear the trend with style. Her bondage heels and metallic cuff are great additions, along with her free-flowing locks and killer little clutch! This is probably my fave look of all four, most like my own personal style.

Next up, Dr. Lisa Airan is just glowing (she better be, she's a world famous Manhattan dermatologist) in her pink/red combo! You know a great fitting PENCIL SKIRT is one of our Top Ten Wardrobe Essentials...and hers is just that! She's a bit matchy-matchy for my taste, but I know this is a look my Mom will just love!

Lastly, we have Coco Rocho who makes everything look lady-like and pretty. Her blue floral and navy heels are so classic yet trendy at the same time. I like this combo and am on the search for the perfect Navy heel...Coco, can I borrow? Those are fab! Enjoy!

Reader Fave/Rave: Jamie D Needs Fashionable Pregnancy Options/Hints

Pregnant celebs and signature style

You know we already adore BABIES (especially little ones named Minnie) and well, even though RD and RD Hub haven't had their own little bundle of joy just yet, we ARE getting a Yorkshire Terrier this weekend...does that count? Ha! Regardless, we both find pregnant women very gorgeous but I can totally understand how being pregnant would really limit your wardrobe options. Committed reader, supporter and great friend, Jamie D, recently shot me an email and said she was having 'issues' with her wardrobe. This is a reader I personally know so take my word for it, she has an amazing collection of clothing!

With that being said, I know Jamie already has some great basics to work with and she can easily add a few key additions to spice up her looks. I've compiled 10 great looks via some of my fave stylish pregnant celebs above, complete with quick hints underneath each image! You can never, ever go wrong in all black, à la Angelina Jolie, Nicole Richie and Halle Berry. Add a pop of color with a SCARF, comfy heels/FLAT BOOTS or a statement making bag!

Jamie D, embrace your adorable bump and please don't shy away from gorgeous gowns...a quick glance at Mila Jovovich and Christina Aguilerra will prove these leading ladies feel good on the inside and sexy on the outside! Make sure to utilize those items already in your wardrobe too. Striped cardigans, flowy dresses and solid colored separates are key. I've added some speedy-savvy-stylin' below to get all my expectant fashionistas on the right track. No one said it would be easy...but I'll have you know that your fashion sense doesn't have to get run-down, too! Enjoy!

What to Buy Now: BCBG Max Azria - Fall 2008 and Spring 2009

BCBG Max Azria - Fall 2008

BCBG Max Azria - Spring 2009

As you already know, BCBG Max Azria is one of my favorite labels. Wearable clothing, feminine feel and affordable luxury is why it reigns supreme as a great option for me. Not to mention, the tailoring and craftsmanship create clothing that last forever! Designer Max Azria is always one to set/follow trends, but many pieces in the BCBG Collections are timeless and effortlessly chic. I have so much love for this label.

The Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 Collections are featured above. I wanted to show you some of my favorite looks from both Collections and how to make your Fall looks transition easily into Spring, too. I love the idea (first look for Fall lineup) of layering a cute Summer dress over a sheer blouse. How easy is that? Plus, those fun and flirty Spring/Summer dresses get more wearibility and rotation into your Fall/Winter wardrobe.

Well, of course I scouted out some adorable SALE pieces for you, below via my speedy-savvy-stylin. There should be NO REASON for you to not have a killer BCBG piece added soon. How about the Korinna sandal for $24.50? So perfect for Fall/Winter! Enjoy!

Paris Fashion Week: Chanel Spring 2009 - Video, Pictures...Make It Yours

(Click Play - Chanel Spring 2009 Runway Show)

Does any fashionista not like Chanel? No, really...anyone, anyone? I'm sure there are some out there...but at least they must readily admit to respecting the empire that Karl Lagerfeld has sustained and recreated, tine and time again. I would have died and gone to heaven had I been at this show, above. Lagerfeld's designs echo femininity in all the right ways and frankly, Chanel is one of the most recognized names in luxury and haute couture fashion. Knockoff galore, everyone seems to want their little piece of Chanel...but I'm a supportive of purchasing only the real deal!

Moving on...it's no wonder that Chanel's Spring Collection was heavy with tweeds, bows and lace. A few eye-catching accessories were quickly noticeable by moi; the Chanel Shopping Bags recreated in leather were stupendous and the dual-tone tights (almost looking like trendy knee-highs) are a new creative spin on Chanel's Fall Double-Sided Tights. Take a peek at the looks below and know I was literally picking up my jaw because I yearn to wear the long, charcoal empire gorgeousness on the bottom right.

Chanel - Spring 2009

Yes, Chanel comes with a price tag that many cannot afford and will never own. But adding a little Chanel-inspired fun into your everyday wardrobe is actually rather easy. By mixing in sweet bows, pretty ribbon, classic tweeds and lace tights...you've literally done the trick! I've added a little Runway to Reality for you, below...I wanted to make sure and show you that a Chanel 'look-alike' can be had for affordable prices, too. Enjoy!

Personal Peek: RunwayDaily's Dream Birthday Shopping Spree for Fall

Ok...so guess what this weekend has in store for me? It's not only my Birthday on Saturday (woo, woo...we LOVE some Bdays in the RunwayDaily household) but it's also my last weekend with just RD Hubby! Is he going somewhere? No! Am I expecting? Ummm, def no...I've left that up to my SISTER and friends, for now! Then what is going on, you must be wondering? Next weekend we add a teenie, tiny Yorkshire Terrier puppy to our family. One word for you about how I'm feeling is...pure...EXCITEMENT!

Soooooo, our last weekend...just the two of us. My honey definitely has a relaxing weekend already planned for me. I've learned my Bday starts off tomorrow with a mani/pedi...ummmmm, that's the BEST way to start any day, cha-ching! Good work, hot hubby!

But...I was just doing some online shopping and wishing/dreaming that money wasn't an issue at all. With the economy completely NUTSO, I've actually been hitting up more thrift/vintage stores and buy less stuff in general. If I was able to splurge with no limits, this would likely be where I'd lay down my dough!

Meet my DREAM Bday Shopping Spree, above. Hey...a girl should dream, right? Enjoy and I'll be taking the weekend off so I'll have some mega Fashion Week udpates for you on Monday. Have a great weekend...I know I will! Oh and huge PS - RD just tipped the scales at 200,000+ hits! Golf claps, golf claps...a very BIG deal!

Male Bytes: Female Fashion from a Man's Perspective - Nikko Villanueva Byting Daisy Lowe, Hayden Panettiere, Maria Menounos and Rihanna

Nikko byting daisy lowe and hayden and maria and rihanna

It's Hump Day and you know what that means? RunwayDaily loves to jump start your mid-week lull with our fan-favorite category: Male Bytes! What a great way to kick the last half of the week off on a magnificent start. Today's Male Byter is a man with a style that is impossibly to miss. This is a guy that is always dressed to impress and is so fashionable that I find myself taking notes from his pairings.

From fringe jackets, killer boots, skinny jeans and Hot-for-Fall plaids...this fellah is an eye-catching 'gent! The second I met Nikko, I knew he'd have all sorts of advice/praise/put-down's for our Bevy of Beauties, above! So, without further ado...let's hear what Nikko's thoughts are on the ensemble choices of these four captivating starlets:

Daisy Lowe: "I love her outfit! Her pants look spray painted on, HOT! The colorful shirt breaks up the black and white combination. You can't go wrong with dark lipstick and black nail polish, if you do it right. It's obvious the girl has skills. She rules the school!"

Hayden Panettiere: "Forget about the outfit!!! Her face looks like a pile of pancakes, yikes! The girl at the make up counter got a little too happy with the foundation. Jeepers Creepers I think I'm going blind!!!"

Maria Menounos: "I love this outfit. It's very elegant. I can't get over her red shoes, HOT! The red splash of color ties her outfit together. The belt works "for her"...it reminds me of a present waiting to get unwrapped!"

Rihanna: "I love the dress, but the jacket needs to GO! I mean she needs to take it off right now! She'd be better off rockin an umbrella...ella...ella!"

Nikko, you're such a great asset to our Male Bytes category! Thanks for taking the time to lend us your fashion opinions...I'm seriously in agreement with almost 100% of what you said! I think we might just have to feature you again. Right to the point...and in this fashionista's eyes, you're sooooo right in so many ways. My lovely readers...do I even have to tell you to enjoy? I think not!
