First Look: Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton Channels Mad Men

Louis vuitton - fall 2010

Readers, do you know I've never seen a full episode of Mad Men. I know, that's just purely pathetic. So many of my girlfriends scream when I say that. And, do you know, I did a Michael Kors post HERE and was actually quoted in the Wall Street Journal about this post? Yes, that was fantastic and beyond exciting! I'll be blowing up the quote and framing it as a piece of art in my home office for my new art wall (explained HERE on CasaCullen - our sister home designer blog).

So back to the post at hand. Marc Jacobs rocked the runway for Louis Vuitton and totally channeled Mad Men and everything feminine, flirty and lady-like and I loved every...single...look. Glance above, each ensemble is created using pieces that you probably already own. A full skirt that hits below the knee - check! A lady-like cardigan that fits properly and is not one of your boyfriend versions, as of late - check! Arm length gloves - check! A sweet bowler-shape bag - check! Kitten heels with bows - Check! And yep, I think these have officially arrived as Fall's hottest go-to show, more HERE at Stella McCartney. Lastly, some great Mad Men era reading glasses or shades - check!

So yes sweet readers, I actually own every single one of those pieces. Now, let me leave you with this, I wouldn't go venturing out donning every single one of these pieces together just yet. People might think you stepped off a movie set. But I would start mixing in your full skirts and kitten heels or some arm length gloves and 3/4 length cardigans. So start playing around with these pieces now and you'll be all set to be ahead of the trends come fall. I've got some great speedy-savvy-stylin' below to get your gears crankin'! Full skirts coming in under $150 and awesome accent pieces under $100. Enjoy!
