I just have to give some background on this here supremely comfy summer look. So dressing my bump isn't as easy as it seems. This was my third try on Saturday morning. Seriously, I've never been the kind of girl who stands there and stares at her closet and tries on multiple ensembles before racing out the door. I always just throw it together and go. It's a blessing for sure, but when it comes to dressing, I've always had a really easy time making decisions and not fretting at all.
Well, well...enter a baby bump and I'm like a 15 year old girl, sitting on the floor of her closet, screaming at her Mom that she has noooo clothes! Seriously, I think I tried on two different looks prior to this concoction, both of which Hubby gave the thumbs up on. But you know what, I just didn't feel pretty. So back to the drawing board for a look that can weather the Austin heat and also flatter my figure. Voila, a maxi skirt and crochet tank always does the trick in my book!
Denim Shirt: American Eagle
Crochet Tank: Mossimo from Target
Maxi Skirt: Forever 21
Camel Flip Flops: Kinos from Key West
Gold Locket Necklace: Maternal Grandmother's
Bag: Gustto (gift from Hubby)
Gold Earrings: Gift from my parents
Aviators: Urban Outfitters

And for those of you that love a good bump watch pic, Baby Boy Cullen is growing for sure! And how about that picture perfect lil' pup! Holy bonkers, she cracks me up! Granted, it was her Daddy taking the picture and she always has all eyes on him so it's no wonder she was staring right at the camera, he was behind the lens! I'm feeling really awesome lately and enjoying the joys of my second trimester and all the energy that comes with it.
This pic was snapped on Saturday before I headed out on a fun girlie/preggers day date with my friend Mel from I Heart Photography. We ate a massive breakfast, shopped South Congress in Austin and then hit up Barton Creek Mall too! Our lil' pregger legs were super tired after all that walking. I'm 21 1/2 weeks along in this pic, for those of you that like to keep track of that stuff. And for my non, in the know, readers...that's almost 5 1/2 months of a 10 month pregnancy! Thanks for your support as we embark on such a huge adventure and hope this inspires my bump-tastic readers to dress their bump proudly too!

How she wears it:
I recently told you that brightly colored pants are going to be uber hot for fall HERE. I actually own a pair of red jeans from Urban Outfitters and I love them (spy them HERE!) I love them! I wear them often and they are super comfortable and electric shock of color needed to vamp up any day and any wardrobe. Cuff them this summer and done them with white, cream and metallic pieces. Then sport them all fall/winter long too! A really transitional piece that I've had/loved for years...get yourself a pair below, under $100!

Amazing RWD readers, you're going to have to bear with me. It's just a huge change in my life, this here baby bump, so dressing it has become quite the task in and of itself. For those of you that are already Moms or are pass this point in your pregnancy, I know you get it. For those of you that are rolling your eyes, I promise you when you're in my shoes, you'll totally understand!
No joke, I have to work really hard to find outfits that not only work but that also look cute and are figure-flattering. The in-between/nothing fits stage is a tough one but I think I managed to scope out some closet faves in the last few weeks! Also read how I'm learning to improvise...ie: I'm actually sporting black work out shorts in the first pic! Read on for the details!
Sheer Black Shirt: Willi Smith (from Kohl's, I think)
Black Shorts: Champs (yep, those are cotton work out shorts)
Black Gladiators: Jessica Simpson from Dillard's
Gold Earrings: Gift from my parents
PS: I could've at least put on some dang makeup! I really do look so tired in this pic, ha!
Maxi Dress: Old School Old Navy
Oatmeal Cardigan:TJ Maxx score (I wear it all the time!)
Camel Colored Gladiators: Nine West
Turquoise Necklace: Maternal Grandmother's
Black Sheer Blouse: Xhiliration from Target
Black Tank Top: Splendid from Nordstrom Rack
White Shorts: Liz Lange at Target
Metallic Sandals: Antonio Melani from Dillard's
Watch: Michael Kors
Jewelry: the usual faves
Bold Racerback Tank: Old Navy (purchased at the same time as this tank HERE)
Jean Shorts: Liz Lange for Target
Gold Gladiators: Shoe Carnival in San Francisco (I think they were $8)
Gold Earrings: gift from my parents
Gold Cocktail Ring: BCBG
Gold Chain Necklace: Maternal Grandmother's
And for those bump watchers out there...here is a HALF WAY BAKED pic! This would be at about 20 1/2 weeks (aka: 5 months and a few days) and I was heading to a dear friends bridal shower. I love how maxi dresses still make me feel super feminine without feeling claustrophobic. I don't like anything super tight on my belly, but maybe that will change.
We found out this morning that our due date has been moved up to November 30th so we're farther along than we thouhght! Tomorrow marks 21 weeks so this pic was taken this past Saturday! Enjoy and thanks for all your support, sweet emails and amazing comments! I'm so happy you're enjoying this body changing and 'changed in dressing' journey with me, ha!

I'm not big with matchy-matchy, but somehow this bridesmaid-eque look is totally it for me. I love the idea of having a monochromatic look, straight down to your shoes. You can keep it simple/casual like Busy Phillips or go for the glam look like Blanchett and Lively.
So what do you think about this? Do you do this already? Is it something you'll try? I'm totally going to give this a go in the coming months. A red dress with red shoes will probably my first go-round and then I'll venture into other color palettes. Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Poesy chose pastel Chanel separates and silver platforms for the Paris premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Her style is infectious as it's two parts glam mixed with one part laid back sex appeal. We love this color combo and find that pairing it with white is also a really fresh approach. Check out the killer purple and silver pieces we've scoured the net for. All chiming in under $100 and many are even under $50! You heard it here first, now there's no reason not to try this fresh color combo this summer!

Summer really is all about the shoes. You have a perfectly pedicured set of tootsies and your gams are tanner than they've been all year. What better way to show off your assets than a great pair of kicks. They don't have to be dressy (though they sure can) and they can just be a pair of metallic flip flops (like my faves HERE) because summer is about kickin' back and going casual. Check out these 'stand out' 10 kicks that'll have your friends adoring your summer style for months! So basically if I could go on a 10 pair shoe shopping spree right now, this would be my top 10!
PS - They're all under $100, woo hoo!

Tank: Old Navy (under $4)
Skirt: Old Navy (under $7)
Metallic Flip Flops: Antonio Melani at Dillard's
Watch: Michael Kors
Necklace: Tiny Double Hearts - gift from Hubby
Earrings: Swarovski studs - gift from Hubby
Shades: Converse - gift from my Dad
Ok, so obviously my body is going through some, uh hum, changes and with that comes the task of learning to dress my growing bump! This outfit really does make me feel feminine, strong and on-trend. We were recently in the Houston area for a few days and popped into an Old Navy outlet-type store. Let me just say, deals were found. Can you believe this skirt and tank set me back only $10? Yep, a ten dollar ensemble...I'll take it!
A maxi skirt is that great summer piece that every girl should have in her closet. Versatile, functional and wearable to numerous occasions, I love a black version because you can dress it up or down with ease. This particular version is cotton and superbly comfortable! I love pairing maxi skirts with breezy tanks or one of my jeans tops. What do you pair with your maxi skirt? For more ideas, click HERE.
Check out the great maxi skirts and easy summer tank combos I've hand picked below...all under $50! If you don't have this combo in your wardrobe, grab a few pieces today. Seriously, it's that 'perfect on almost every figure' look and you'll be thanking me later because it's also such a comfortable outfit to don too! Enjoy!

Bump watch alert! So we found out yesterday (when this pic was taken) if we're having a boy or girl, so head on over and find out that answer HERE, if you're curious. Also, it looks like I might be a bit farther along than I thought. This was supposed to be at 18 weeks but the Doctor thinks I might be almost 20 weeks. So that might be a half-baked bun right there. He still needs to consult with my primary Doctor before any due dates are moved...but for now, we're happy to report a healthy and growing baby. Enjoy!

We loved this collection when we saw it and can't wait to show you some of our favorite pieces. Our love for Rachel Roy is undeniable because she's really a woman's designer. She knows our bodies, accents via her silhouettes and knows we want double-duty pieces for a wider range of wear. Her Fall 2011 Collection (it'll be here before we know it) garnered wide acclaim for stepping away from her eveningwear and finding her place in ready-to-wear daily pieces. Check out some of our faves below and click HERE for more Rachel Roy goodies!

This primarily all black ensemble sported by the uber fashion forward, Kate Moss, is a great reminder that not all looks require a pop of color or statement piece. We love how she's paired number black pieces together; a simple T, cuffed shorts, blazer, belt and wayfarers. Likely, these are all items you have in your own closet. We also admire how she mixed things up by donning brown gladiator sandals too! Check out the hand picked combos below...now you can make this look your own! LOVE THIS!

Love this look! Gorgeous and put together, actress Rose Byrne looks ravishing in this amazing combo. Pairing the perfect summer blazer over a floral/patterned jumpsuit ups the ante for on-trend satisfaction. We love how she kept her makeup/accessories super subtle and let the ensemble do the shining. She's a gorgeous new lady on the scene and we can't wait to see more of her after her Bridesmaids debut.

Sandals: from Italy (my faves)
White V Neck T: Victoria's Secret
Cuffed Baggy Shorts: American Eagle
Long Gold Locket Necklace: Grandmother's
Short Gold Cross Necklace: Gift from my Parents
Sunglasses: Fossil
Bra: Navy blue...sure, why not
I literally LOVE ankle wrap sandals. This pair hails from Italy and I swear I should've bought them in every color and two pairs of black. They've help up so nicely for all the years of wear/tear they've been through and RWD Hubby always says, 'I told you to get two pairs!' He did, I was looking at a camel and gold pair too...ugh, the regret! But I have hand picked some affordable ankle wrap/cuff sandals below for you to also don such a great summer show style.
Let me just point out that these shorts at my mega baggy, hang around the house shorts. I won't even divulge the actual size they are but I don't even care...they are comfy and cool and I love them. Well, these days, I'm so thankful for these (I also have them in khaki) because they are about the only pairs of bottoms that fit comfortably, ha! I actually love pairing them with tights and boots during the fall/winter months so make sure you have a great pair of cuffed shorts...you'll actually use them all year long, most likely.

And for those of you that love a baby bump update...here's the progress. We're moving along nicely and soon I'll be able to tell you whether or not it's a boy or girl in there! You can see the itty bitty bump poking out at the bottom of my shirt and right above my waistband. Yep, I'll be 17 weeks pregnant this Sunday so it's almost half time/half way baked! Hard to believe! Hugs for your support and love! It's a lot harder to dress a bump than I thought it would be, just fyi!
