BOTB - Belle of the Ball: Best Dressed at the 2011 Emmy Awards

Loved the Emmy Awards show last night! Did you watch? Jane Lynch rocked it, Kyle Chandler won and recognized Austin (and me, since yours truly has been an extra for a few episodes of Friday Night Lights) and all of the presenters had great (and sometimes comically awkward) chemistry. We love looking at all the gorgeous gowns both on the red carpet and when presenting. It's always funny how a gown can look gorgeous in action but lackluster in pictures.

Here's my fave picks from the show and you'll have to scroll to the bottom to see which gorgeous lady I awarded BEST DRESSED! Agree? If not, who is your top choice?

The VMA's are always such a good show. There's always something so fun, daring, hilarious and surprising during each year's VMA show. Last night's show definitely impressed but it was all about the fashion for us. We loved Gaga in Alexander McQueen...she rocked it! We also have to highlight Lo Bosworth, Ashley Greene, Kesha and Selena Gommez as stand out looks too. We love when gorgeous gals take a fashion chance and the VMA's are precisely the correct awards show to do, just that! Love these looks...bravo to our fashionable and fancy darlings!

BOTB - Belle of the Ball: Best Dressed at The 2010 Emmy Awards

Best dressed at the 2010 emmys

Dear readers...this was such a hard, hard choice. I've looked over tons of pictures and diliberated for hours trying to decide which beauty earned the coveted BOTB gold star. After much consideration and since there were more than five spectacularly dressed attendees that I adored, I decided to kick things up a notch and award a Belle and her six-deep court.

Each lady just oozed gorgeousness last night and really stood out on the red carpet for sure. Hands down, it was Julie Benz for me. She literally glowed in her white gown and her skin, hair, makeup and accessories were the perfect compliment. Let's dissect what they were all donning and just give you a bit about why they made our best dressed list, below.

The Belle (center, Gold Star)

Julie Benz (from Dexter) - Julie wore a floor-length gown by Pamella Roland, Judith Leiber clutch, Jacob & Co. Jewels and Brian Atwood pumps. She was dressed perfectly from head to toe by her amazing stylist, Joey Tierney.

Her Court (left to right, top to bottom)

Kelly Osborne - Osborne looked sleek and sexy in a plunging black Tony Ward Couture gown with a geometric-pleated skirt. This dress was the perfect compliment to her new slim figure and gorgeous creamy skin.

Kyra Sedgwick - Striking in a burgundy Monique Lhuillier gown featuring hand-stitched organza strips, Sedgwick topped it off with perfect beach waves, a light pink clutch and ruby lips.

Lea Michele - Donning blue Oscar de la Renta and Lorraine Schwartz jewels, Michele is on the top of many best dressed lists for this great combo.

Tina Fey - Fey looked elegant in an embroidered silk organza Oscar de la Renta gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Hubby and I both gave this five stars and she was nearly our best dressed.

Heidi Klum - Really, this lady has had children? Klum looked bangin' in a super-short Marchesa gown and bold Lorraine Schwartz statement jewels.

Claire Danes - She sparkled in a bronze Armani Privé gown encrusted with Swarovski drop crystals and iridescent sequin beading.

BOTB - Belle of the Ball: Best Dressed at The MTV Movie Awards

Best dressed at the 2010 mtv movie awards

We actually tuned into the last hour of the MTV Movie Awards last night and enjoyed every second of it. I guess we missed some huge highlights but per their usual, I'm sure MTV will have the show airing daily for the next few weeks. I'll be sure to check the full show, in its entirety. With that being said, I had some time to spot some gorgeous gowns and well-dressed celebs in that hour. I can't really pick a Belle of the Ball, per say, so I've rounded up my fave looks above. I love all the bright colors, short and sexy hemlines and some sleekly spotted great kicks too.

I was actually proud of K Stew for looking halfway decent as I've just loathed her past fashion choices for the red carpet. My MTV girls Whitney and Stephanie looked really chic and those Hilton's donned some surprisingly rather low-key accessorized looks. Rounding out these top seven looks we chose Anna Kendrick in her uber feminine pink frock (looking nothing like her dowdy character in Up in the Air) and Miss Eva usually always rocks her curves so to see her in an asymmetrical t-shirt dress was a nice change of pace.

Below I've rounded up some gorgeous dresses for under $200. You already know we're on a dress kick starting HERE and learning how to better dress our body shape HERE. Dresses are the perfect one piece wonder for summer style. It's a chic piece and the crew here at RWD truly believes you can never have too many great dresses.

Salma Hayek looked ravishing in her red Gucci Premiere gown at the Cannes Film Festival. We've rounded up our other top contenders for best dressed and are totally drooling at the five gowns. We just wanted to mention that Hudson and Barkin have totally chosen gowns that rock their body types.

Since we've been focusing on dressing for your body type HERE and HERE, we just had to point out how fabulous these ladies look. Also, Beckinsale and Lopez look beyond ravishing in their gowns, as their ultimate choosing of a BLUSH palette continues to be a smart one that stands out. Enjoy!

BOTB - Belle of the Ball: Best Dressed at The Met's American Woman Gala

Related Posts with Thumbnails

We're highlighting our top fave looks from The Metropolitan Museum's Costume Institute Gala. The tagline for this years gala, 'American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity' seems extremely fitting as so many American women graced the red carpet with poise, perfection and donning lust-worthy looks.

Gorgeous women stepped out sporting all the top designer frocks and dripping in glitter, sparkles and gorgeous diamonds. This is the one party of the year where everyone pulls out all the stops. I've rounded up my best dressed list below and even highlighted why I think these looks just...work. Enjoy!

Jason Wu with Camilla Belle, in his design with Cartier jewels copy

Queen of the Ball - Camilla Belle in Jason Wu

Designer Jason Wu with Camilla Belle in his gorgeous design has taken my first place spot. She's also donning Cartier jewels that are understated and let this gorgeous red dress be the center of attention. Her darker locks, gorgeous coloring and perfect makeup and up 'do all round out this uber glam look. I'm a sucker for a red dress and the richness of this color is supremely perfect. I also love the cut and shirring on the bust and waistline...it fits her like a glove! Bravo to Wu and Belle...my best dressed designer and celeb combo of the night!

Her Court:

Blake Lively, in Marchesa, with Lorraine Schwartz jewels

Belle Blake Lively: Best Dressed Celeb

Blake Lively looking saucy and hot in Marchesa with Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Love those sweet lacy pumps too and her soft pink lips are a great compliment to that gorgeous blue hue. I'm loving that she went short and sweet because this lady has some gams that deserve to be shown. It's daring, fun, age appropriate and totally playful too. You know we adore her as she's been our Muse before right HERE.

Lily Donaldson, in Marc Jacobs

Belle Lily Donaldson: Best Dressed Model

It's hard to not look good when you're Lily Donaldson. Opting for Marc Jacobs, Donaldson sparkled in this beige number. I love her modern choice of necklace and I also love that sweet bangle arm band too. Her sparkly eye makeup and laid back beachy waves are uber sexy and her statement making cuff on her left arm is a great addition too.

Vogue's Anna Wintour, in Chanel Haute Couture, with Bee Shaffer, in Balenciaga Edition

Belle(s) Anna Wintour and Bee Shaffer - Best Dressed Mother/Daughter Duo

They both got it so right, didn't they? I love Wintour in Chanel Haute Couture on so many levels. The color, the cut, the shirring, the long military blazer and the razzle-dazzle of it all. I'm also digging her dark and sultry lips too. And yes, it looks like she's donning another one of her fave necklaces (HERE) in a new color. Oh Anna! Her daughter Bee donned a perfectly fitted Balenciaga Edition gown in a sweet pink. Her milky skin and gorgeous dark hair look perfectly paired with this gown. I also adore her huge drop chandelier earrings that we pointed out at Zac Posen HERE.

Naomi Watts, with Fred Leighton jewels, and Liev Schreiber, in Tom Ford

Belle & Stud Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber: Best Dressed Couple

Supremely gorgeous in bright pink, Watts usually always gets it right! Sweet gold accents and a side-swept 'do make this gorgeous asymmetrical piece stand out. Her handsome date and partner, Liev Schreiber looked dapper in Tom Ford too.

Francisco Costa with Zoe Saldana, in Calvin Klein Collection, and Diane Kruger, in Calvin Klein Collection with Fred Leighton jewels

Belle(s) Zoe Saldana and Diane Kruger: Best Rendition of 'American Woman'

Francisco Costa of Calvin Klein must've been in heaven between these two gorgeous ladies. Both clad in Calvin Klein, Saldana and Kruger play the part nicely in their gorgeous gowns. Their Fred Leighton jewels and sophisticated flair don them the winners of best interpretation. Don't even get me started on some other fashion faux pas of this theme (uh humm, Diane von Furstenberg...really?) Kudos to this trio for not taking it too far but really looking regal in their gorgeous full coverage frocks. Sexy, understated and supremely gorgeous...love these gowns.

I adore my best-dressed list and Maggie knocked it out of the water. LOVE IT!

Also, the runners up are a strong group of contenders and all fabulously fashioned. And per my usual, I've added an extra category and just wanted to give props to those women who showcased daring and different looks. Some were a hit, some were a miss but they all took a chance which always rocks in my book. Enjoy!

BOTB - Belle of the Ball: Best Dressed at The Grammys - Beyonce, Katy Perry, Heidi Klum and Rihanna

Related Posts with Thumbnails

Best dressed at the grammys

Oh boo hoo, we missed the Grammys last night! We were busy catching up on our LOST seasons before the next one begins. I regret to say, that I actually totally forgot. But that doesn't mean I can't tell you who I think deserved the best dressed award...Beyonce takes the cake, in my opinion. Although no one showed up in bright PINK like Kruger at the Golden Globes...there seemed to be an attendee dress code memo that circled Hollywood.

Beyonce, followed up by a bevy of beauties in nude colored gowns, stood out in her intricately appliquéd fishtail Stephane Rolland gown, Casadei heels and gilded Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. I mean, talk about a head-turning look. Katy Perry looked smashing and ladylike in her gold-dusted, nude Zac Posen gown that I absolutely adore. She topped off her look with a drool-worthy Judith Leiber jeweled elephant clutch. Heidi Klum looks amazing, post childbirth, in her short and sweet nude embellished Emilio Pucci mini-dress and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. She makes mommy-hood look so easy.

Rounding out my top four, Rihanna looked fierce as can be in her white Elie Saab gown with feather and chiffon details, Neil Lane diamond earrings, rings and bracelet. Did you watch last night's show? Did it rock? The snippets I've seen are quite spectacular. Truthfully, I didn't like the dress that my usual fashion fave Taylor Swift chose. I'm sure she'll be up for more awards so she can make it up to me then. Bravo to all four gorgeous women and enjoy!

BOTB - Belle of the Ball: Best Dressed at The Golden Globes - Cameron Diaz, Diane Kruger, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Garner and Sandra Bullock

Related Posts with Thumbnails

Best dressed at the 2010 golden globes

Although the awards are still airing here in Austin, TX...I already know my lineup for best dressed at the Golden Globes. Hands-down, without a doubt in my mind...the lady who sashayed in donning Barbie pink stole the show. Someone tell me why and how Diane Kruger can do no fashion wrong...ever! The lady rocks my world, as far as fashion is concerned. She's only been featured on RWD like a million times (HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE are just a few!) Joshua Jackson is one lucky fella but he also has some supremely awesome fashion sense too so they are just a fashion pair created in runway heaven.

The other four ladies who grabbed my attention tonight at the Golden Globes are flanking Kruger's side above. Cameron's eye's popped in her crimson satin Alexander McQueen with strong shoulders that showed off her bad ass biceps. Girlfriend is a walking billboard for arm workouts.

Although there was a sea of soft-shaded gowns, Garner's beaded lilac Atelier Versace totally wowed me and Drew Barrymore, also donning Atelier Versace sparkled and shined in her nude version. Lastly, Bullock's deep purple Bottega Veneta chiffon gown is to die for, such a gorgeous shade on her. Bravo to all the award winners and contenders...and extra big golf claps to these five gorgeously clad attendees. Enjoy!

BOTB - Belle of the Ball: Best Dressed at Independent Spirit Awards - Laura Dern, Jessica Alba, Elizabeth Banks, Michelle Monaghan and Cameron Diaz

Independent Spirit Awards - Best Dressed

I usually take Sunday off, but seeing as how today is the 81st Annual Academy Awards show...I'll be glued to the television anyway (for you) and decided to take yesterday off instead. But first, I wanted to make sure to highlight the Independent Spirit Awards (yesterday) and the best dressed attendees. I love the Indi Spirit Awards because I honestly feel like the ladies always step out in looks that are casual chic but also represent their ladies personal style. So, take a glance above and I'll tell you why I chose these top five!

Laura Dern (love her and her hubby) looks Rockstar chic in her leather bomber and black dress. I usually steer clear of black, but Dern's addition of key accessories, great hair and that bomber make the look such a laid-back 'do' in my book. Next up, Jessica Alba looks supremely lady-like in her PALE pink gown. Her NUDE HEELS are the perfect compliment to allow the dress to shine and the gorgeous mother just radiates beauty in this color.

My pick of the five was, hands down, Elizabeth Banks in bright ORANGE. The hair, the eye-catching shoes, the makeup and minimal accessories create an ensemble of perfection on Miss Banks...loves, loves it! Rounding out the top five is Michelle Monaghan and Cameron Diaz. Lovin' that BLUE color on Michelle but can't say I'm sold on her kicks. And Cameron nearly made numero uno out of the five because this dress is such a show-stopper and...I love some STRIPES. Golf claps for all five ladies...enjoy!

BOTB - Belle of the Ball: Best Dressed at Sidaction AIDS Benefit Gala - Milla Jovovich, Vanessa Paradis, Carla Bruni, Mischa Barton, Diane Kruger and Dita Von Teese

Best dressed at parisian gala

Recently, more than a few stylish women gathered at Paris'Pavillon d'Armenonville and showed off some serious goods. The Annual Ball brought out numerous stunners and well-dressed ladies. My Best Dressed of the above 6? I'd have to say it's a three-way tie in my book. I love the color of Carla Bruni's YSL cobalt blue gown and Milla Jovovich never disappoints in silver (Elie Saab). Lastly, Diane Kruger in Nina Ricci takes a cue from the Spring runways sporting floral and high/low hemline that oozes sex appeal! Who was your favorite? Enjoy!

BOTB - Belle of the Ball: Best Dressed at the Critics' Choice Awards - Eva Longoria, Taraji P. Henson, Elizabeth Banks, Angelina Jolie and Penelope Cruz

Best dressed at critics choice awards

So award season is officially upon us. Yesterday was the PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS and today we have the Critics' Choice Awards Belle of the Ball. Elizabeth Banks was today's winner in her stunning ensemble! Moving from the bottom up, how about her wrapped chain ANKLE CUFF sandals? Drool-worthy for sure, they are a sight for sore eyes amongst a sea of classic pumps. How sexy are they? Love them. Not to mention her yellow satin deep v-cut Reem Acra gown and ladylike Jimmy Choo clutch (so versatile). The hair, the makeup...très chic, indeed!

Rounding out the top five, we have Eva Longoria in a TURQUOISE Monique Lhuillier gown and nude heels, AGAIN, let the gown get all the attention. Taraji looks gorgeous in her soft gold mini-gown. Her skin glistens and the actress from The Curious Case of Benjamin Button has me curious as to who the designer is...any takers?

Up next, Angelina Jolie...always the long, etheral, sexy goddess gown wearer, she looked the part of royalty in her assymetrical Max Azria silver-hued gloriousness. Capping it off with a Hervé Léger by Max Azria clutch and Stuart Weitzman heels, this leading lady has won over numerous fashion critics this morning. Last, but certainly not least, Penelope Cruz wears one of my favorite shades of blue in her sapphire Yves St. Laurent form-fitting gown. Speaking of YSL...stay tuned! I'll soon get a peek at more from this designer, up close! Vote for your favorite below and enjoy!

BOTB - Belle of the Ball: Best Dressed at the People's Choice Awards - Debra Messing, Olivia Wilde, Marisa Tomei, Katherine Heigl and Jessica Stroup

Best dressed at peoples choice

Are you surprised at my choice for Best Dressed at the People's Choice Awards last night? Well, Jessica Stroup was right on Marisa Tomei's nude heels, in my book...but Tomei's simplicity and elegance won out in the long run! Her red strapless Donna Karan stunner paired with non-competing nude heels and clutch let the dress really shine. The icing on the cake...that drool-worthy teardrop STATEMENT necklace that I'm more than positive garnered some serious compliments and questions throughout the night.

As stated before, my second pick would have to be Miss Jessica Stroup in her multi-colored, floral Hervé Léger bandage dress. Golf claps go to Katherine Heigl for NOT wearing a dress and looking surpremly elegant in her Dolce & Gabbana pantsuit. Rounding out the top five Belles of the Ball are Debra Messing in Donna Karan (nude heels again) and Olivia Wilde looking ethereal in her long white gown. Take notice of Olivia sporting the same dazzling cuff on each wrist...yep, we've mentioned that look HERE. Would you have handed the Gold Star of Style to any of the other likely contenders? Vote below and enjoy!

BOTB - Belle of the Ball: Best Dressed at the 2008 CMAs - Jennifer Nettles, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Kellie Pickler and Julianne Hough

Best dressed at the cmas

You already KNOW I'm a country girl at heart, so there was no way I was going to miss the CMA's this year. I adore newcomer and true young talent Taylor Swift. She's awarded my Belle of the Ball this year because her ombre sequin gown took my breath away. Side-swept bangs, minimal accessories and perfect makeup rounded off the look and she looked like lady-like royalty for sure.

The other four contenders came in closely behind. My next fave has to be Jennifer Nettles...when she walked on stage I was ooooohing and aaaaaaahing, though RD Hubby wasn't really impressed with this choice of frock, garnering an "it's ok" from him. You know how there are just those dresses that are gorgeous and feminine and make you feel empowered. I'd feel that way in this dress...with its cutout sleeves and oversized sequins. It's this girl's dream, come true (in dress form!)

I love the bold color choices for Carrie Underwood and Julianne Hough (yes, the same Julianne from Dancing with the Stars). Both women, with their golden tans and blonde locks looked just ravishing for sure. I give golf claps to Hough because she took a chance with all those ruffles and I really love the result.

Lastly, Kellie Pickler looked smokin' in her glittery number. Talk about a body-con gown, my goodness. Kellie is looking great and really chose a gown that showed off all her lovely lady humps! Daring and a show-stopper, Pickler definitely created some added male attention in this number...enjoy!

BOTB - Belle of the Ball: Best Dressed at the 2008 Emmys

Belle of the ball - emmys 2008

So, just as I promised...I deliver! Here is RD's Best Dressed lineup from Sunday night's Emmy Awards Show. Taking the Golden Star of Beauty is Olivia Wilde in Reem Acra. As soon as I saw Wilde, I gasped at her beauty and then was stunned at not only her teenie, tiny waistline in that gorgeous gown...but I also love the color and her hair and her elegance and that SWEETHEART neckline..oh yes, I could go on and on! I hope you find Wilde as well deserved as I did...just a classy princess!

The other stunners were Evangeline Lilly in her Elie Saab gown. Love the color, love the shimmer, love her hair and accessories (drop earrings). Emilie de Ravin didn't make many Best Dressed Lists but I don't really care. I love this look! Not only is her Matthew Williamson frock just looking so much more comfortable than many of the other gowns, but the color nearly matches her gorgeous blue eyes. Yep, BLUE was a red-carpet common during this year's Emmy Show but Ravin pulled out all the stops with this look. Ladylike, great movement and stellar color choice...Ravin caught my eye for sure!

Brooke Shields also looked ravishing in her fuschia pink Badgley Mischka gown. Though I polled RD Hubby for his likes/dislikes, he put this look down firmly and quickly in his NO pile! I digress. I'll have to go against the family on this one! Shields pretty much looks GREAT in everything, but I do love this choice. The addition of her BROOCH, killer clutch and massive earrings all boost the glam level up a notch and I'd totally feel regal in this ensemble.

Last, but not least, we have another BLUE lover, that was also previously shown, but I just can't leave this gorgeousness off my Top 5! Christina Applegate in Reem Acra (woo hoo, go Reem Acra - two gowns in my Top 5) was such a 'chance' gown but she pulled it off with grace and elegance. Not to mention, her recent bout with breast cancer but Applegate was all shimmers and shine at the Emmys. Congrats to all five gorgeous gals as you made my Emmy watching that much better!

BOTB - Belle of the Ball: Gowns are Silver Lined at American Country Music Awards

Silver_lined_gowns_at_academy_of_co

I'm such a country girl at heart! I was pleasantly surprised to be flipping through channels last night and VOILA - the ACM's were rearin' to start! Yee-haw! As usual ladies were decked out in diamonds, big hair and sprakly ensembles. Above, some of my favorite gowns were all silver-lined. Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland fame takes home RunwayDaily's Gold Star of Style. But don't let that take away your attention from the other four stunners!

Sara Evans looked SMOKIN' hot in her short and tight gown...all the silver was actually perfect and not overbearing at all! Carrie Underwood's silver FRINGE goodness was so ACM appropriate. Plus her gorgeous golden locks and killer tan really let the gown sparkle and shine! The always adorable and uber pretty Taylor Swift sported an empire waisted goodie and Nicole Kidman (I know, she's NOT a country star...but she's married to one) also rocked the orange carpet in a shorter silver frock that perfectly accentuated that growing bump.

Ok...I can't hold back and I must share one of the highlights of last night's show. ACM's are always filled with laughter, bantering and some memorable moments. Taylor Swift stole every...single...attendees...attention during her live performance. For lack of any other term...I'll stick with FIERCE as a descriptor! Check it out HERE! RunwayDaily hub was actually watching with me (NOT a country fan) and I must say, he turned over to me and said, "Wow, that was awesome!" She rips off her jeans and hoodie for her first 'stunt' to expose a LBD...and then about two minutes later, into the song, lil' Miss Swift is singing in the RAIN! No joke...she gets soaking wet and all I have to say about this is, "If I was a rock/country super star...this is exactly what I'd do!" Check IT out!

BOTB - Belle of the Ball: Real Life Couples - 2008 Costume Institute Gala at the Met

Ahhhhhhh...at last night's Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art churned out some gorgeously clad couples that stole the show! We've already mentioned one-half of a couple (uh hummm...TomKat) that didn't make the best fashion decision, HERE...but the tables have turned and we're ready to give credit where credit is due!

Glancing above, working left to right, from bottom to top...I'd like to take a moment and point out WHY each couple's look is purely ravishing:

Tom Brady in Tom Ford and Gisele Bündchen in Atelier Versace are my King and Queen of the Gala! He looks stunning and actually branched out in the hair category (love some slickness) and Gisele and her near perfect body chose a gown that truly reminds us WHY she's the top paid model in the world. But...take note - can't we just get a steamer for the bottom of it?

Donald Trump, probably in his own label and Melania Trump in Vera Wang are up next! The Donald looks exactly how he always looks...so I'll just say this duo shines bright because Milania looks like a modern-day Barbie in her pretty pink gown. Love it! The earrings and bracelet aren't too shabby either!

Now for the obvious fan-faves, Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson! Diane is wearing Alberta Ferretti...but look closely! Her lil' pink nails and killer pink kicks take the look up a notch and remind us WHY her wardrobe is oh so covetable, yet again! J.J. and his tri-colored/layered suit is also not the norm but he wears it regally!

Next up, we have more Alberta Ferretti clad goodness. New parents, Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez didn't let changing diapers and late night crying get in the way of their gorgeousness. The duo chose classic styles for the soiree! Lopez's Ferretti gown is supremely draped for her figure and the color, cut and bling all look fabulous!

Christy Turlington Burns in Escada and Chanel jewels with hubby Ed Burns, in Giorgio Armani. Can we just get a pause for this one...ahhhhhh, Ed Burns! Love me some Ed Burns. Mmmmmm...ok...thanks! Christy also looked quite the baby-'doll' in her radiant red, empire gown! But sorry Christy...Ed always wins in my eyes!

Newcomers to high fashion, Eli Manning and Abby McGrew were just to precious not to post! You can tell they feel a bit nervous and not so used to the red-carpet flash! But they pulled it off nicely and her killer accessories and soft hued gown make the duo a glam match!

Paula Patton and Robin Thicke are the sort of couple I'd want to sit by for the evening! Her killer curves, gorgeous tan skin and side-swept hair make this golden-goodness of a gown come to life...and NOT look too costumey! As for Robin...I am a huge fan and gotta give a man mad props who will sport this attire and still look amazingly handsome!

Leslie Moonves and Julie Chen are up next and Julie nearly made my best-dressed list! Seriously, the only other woman that can hold a candle to her ensemble is my Mom, who rocked a similar form-fitting mermaid gown at our wedding 2 years ago and looked just spectacular (R.D. Mom sported turquoise gorgeousness...NO WAY would you ever see any of us in black at a wedding). Back to Julie...love the look, love the accessories (subtle) and love how you can just SEE in Leslie's eyes that he is one proud man of his hot wife!

Saving one of the best couples for last, Giorgio Armani-clad David and Victoria Beckham looked like British royalty...except on a sexier scale! I truly can't believe how much V.B. covered up (she's NOT afraid to show some skin) even though it was all pretty much see-through. Her high collar and up-'do is a fresh change and we don't even need to go into WHY David Beckham always looks pretty dang good! Enjoy!

BOTB - Belle of the Ball - 2008 Oscars: Katherine Heigl, Amy Adams, Heidi Klum, Jennifer Hudson and Anne Hathaway

Best_dressed_at_the_2008_oscars_jen

Ahhhhh...there is just soooooo much to love about the Oscars! First of all, I get to seriously revel in the mere idea of EVER sporting some of the biggest/best jewels, adorning the neckslines and ear-lobes of numerous celebs! The stunners always glimmer, impress and shine brightly on the TV screen and make my eyes twinkle. Ok, ok...enough about the jewels. I also love imagining myself in one of the more regal gowns, with train trailing behind me and practicing my former Prom Queen hand wave ("Elbow, elbow...wrist, wrist! Elbow, elbow...wrist, wrist!") Ok, enough about me...onto those gorgeous celebs and WHY we've deemed Heidi Klum our hottest red-dressed lady-love...and there were SOOO many gorgeous "reds" to chose from!

So myself and R.D. Hub were invited to a fun-filled Oscar Watching Party at a friend's home. Seriously, though R.D. Hub is always one to watch ANY five-hour awards shows with me (golf claps for his greatness)...I must say that I did find it quite intriguing to see what the other women in the room thought about certain jewels/gowns and who the guys 'ooohed and aaaaahed' over! One thing's for sure, we all seriously LOVED the entire ensembles that were sported by Katherine Heigl and Anne Hathaway. I actually heard the host say, about Anne Hathaway, "Wow, she's pretty...she really is quite pretty!" Sometimes it just takes men a bit longer, wink! Luxurious and rich in red, both leading ladies oooozed style and sophistication in their red-hot choices! Red, as you can see above, was the COLOR of the night. But these three featured best-dressed lady-loves, ROCKED some seriously stylish red!

Amy Adams was featured ONE TOO MANY times, singing and dancing to her Enchanted tunes...but we weren't so impressed by that = B-O-R-I-N-G! She did steal the heart of the little one watching at our party last night...but hells bells, it's not like the majority of the viewing audience is under 1 years old, right? We are VERY impressed by her perfect choice of gown color (emerald green = matches her eyes) and gold itty-bitty clutch. Amy looked ravishing, so she found an easy spot on our Top 5 for Oscar ensembles!

Onto Jennifer Hudson! Though this look might not be a fan-fave with everyone...if you watched the show last night, you would know WHY I've chosen former Oscar winner. In her white Roberto Cavalli gown, Miss Hudson walked on-stage to present an award with complete confidence, poise, and elegance. You could tell SHE was wearing the gown...NO, that gown was not wearing her. She honestly made this gown look good! Loved her in white, too!

And, last but not least...drum-roll please! Heidi Klum looked beyond stunning, gorgeous, regal, sexy, sophisticated and downright beautiful! Red, the color of the night, came alive on ther awesome hot-body-karate! I do not find myself wanting to walk in others shoes (LOVE my own life) very often...but this look on Heidi Klum last night, ummmm...has me wanting to actually BID ON HER DRESS, too and pretty much be her for a night! Yes, in my mind...Heidi Klum stole the show!

So that's all I have for you on the dress-front...but I DID make a small collage featuring some of my PERSONAL fave moments from the Oscars Award Show below. What are they? Below, clockwise from upper left; the seriously adorable and talented 11 year old actress, Jamia Simone Nash, belting out a tune from her recent movie, August Rush. Then we had Robert Boyle receiving his honorary Oscar and was he EVER a long-winded fellow. The camera kept panning over to his OWN family, who were all yawns and totally uninterested. Awwww...poor guy! I know it's mean but many members of our Oscar watching party were humming the Oscar 'it's time to leave the stage' music. Laughter erupted because you know everyone in our party, and at the Oscars for that matter basically wanted to say, "Buddy...you're time is UP!"

Then there's the talented writer, Diablo Cody, of JUNO fame...girlfriend almost pulled a Britt-Britt on us, showing her bits-and-pieces! It was a near-miss...but she recovered and nothing slipped! Phew! Next fave, Jon Stewart called Markéta Irglová back onstage to finish her speech as she got cut off by that same 'leave the stage' music. She's from the gorgeous movie, Once (ummm...let me get a pause; if you haven't seen, you MUST!) and her speech was nearly as precious as she is.

Lastly, the most heartfelt and endearing speech of the night came directly from gorgeous Marion Cotillard's perfect pout for her Best Actress award-winning role in La Vie en Rose. She just slipped by on our Top 5 Best Dressed Belles of the Ball...she was absolutely stunning, as well! What a show...what a show! Enjoy!

BOTB - Belle of the Ball - 2008 SAG Awards: Amanda Bynes, Vanessa Williams, Rebecca Gayheart, Kate Beckinsale and Marcia Cross

Best_dressed_at_the_sag_awards

I just adore all the gorgeous gowns that flock to the red carpet during the SAG Awards. For some reason, I feel celebs tend to be a bit daring, brazen and BOLD for this Annual Awards Show. Glancing at the above picture, it nearly looks like the Spring 2008 Couture Collections we mentioned HERE. I must say, it so makes me smile that it's not just a sea of white, black and pastel colored gowns. I've searched through the numerous pictures all over the internet and have whittled it down to my 5 Best Dressed Ladies; Amanda Bynes, Vanessa Williams, Rebecca Gayheart, Kate Beckinsale and Marcia Cross.

Amanda Bynes and Marcia Cross chose teal, empire-waisted gowns. And as you can see for yourself, this cut seriously works magic for an array of different ages and body types. RunwayDaily has so much LOVE for an empire waistline...and the color just screams, regal!

Then there is Vanessa Williams (who I've seen in real life and her beauty honestly took my breath away) and Kate Beckinsale in their canary-yellow, BRIGHT gowns. Even though their skin tones are on either end of the spectrum, both gorgeous gals pull off this color with ease and paired the gowns with simple accessories in order to let the yellow SHINE oh so brightly!

Last, but not least, there is Rebecca Gayheart who is awarded RunwayDaily's Gold Star Award! Her look is perfectly in-step with all the supremely LADY-LIKE looks we've mentioned for Spring. May I also mention that wearing red on the red carpet is always "hit or miss" and very hard to pull off...but Rebecca got it right in more ways that one! Her loose side pony-tail, subtly curled, killer drop earrings and dainty bracelet create a sizzling and sophisticated ensemble that looks more 'old Hollywood' glamour than anything else. She radiates confidence in this color and her smokey eyes are the last touch that makes this a look that everyone should try to emulate at their next big event! Well done Rebecca...your elegance is captivating, for sure!

PS - May you stumble upon more SAG pictures on the internet, I must also let you know that America Ferrera was a close contender in her gorgeous dark grey gown!
