I've spoken to you about Little Gold Gowns before but a bevy of gilded gowns reached a whole new level at the 2008 Costume Institute Gala on Monday night. Flocks of celebs, designers and models galavanted down the red carpet donning looks of golden glory!
Featured above, top to bottom, left to right; Mary-Kate Olsen, Byrdie Bell, Michelle Trachtenberg, Amber Valletta, Mischa Barton, Taylor Swift, Donatella Versace, Lily Donaldson, Lauren Hutton, Jessica Stam, Michelle Monaghan and Margherita Missoni (her style we've coveted before, HERE).
Which look sparkled the brightest for you? Which lady-love earns your Gold Star of Style? I'm drawn to Taylor Swift, Amber Valletta and Jessica Stam. They are looks that I adore so I just couldn't pick ONE for you! I'll be back with my Belle of the Ball and her court (Best-Dressed) from Monday night's Gala! Enjoy!

Walk of Shame - Phenomenon in which a person must walk past strangers or peers for an embarrassing reason before reaching a place of privacy. Most commonly, the morning after a night out at a bar, dance club, or party.
I seriously have to giggle about this one! And by the way, if you had NO IDEA what the "Walk of Shame" was...then you seriously did NOT party hard enough in college or you were a cutie-goody-goody-two-shoes! Either way...your liver is thanking you now, so don't fret! Did I endure a "walk" (or two) in my college years, you ask? You must know by now that a lady never tells! Enjoy!
P to the S: I'm also a proud-gal Sorority member! So no hard feelings there, either...k?

We're all probably guilty of buying ULTRA-cheap Wal-Mart flops at sometime in our life, for ourselves/friends/family. If you knew they MIGHT do this to your feet, would you? DEFINITELY not! Sensitive viewers should maybe not LOOK above, or just a quick glance!
I just wanted to share this fashion news clip that my dad/uncle forwarded to me! I'm extremely brand-sensitive, to tell you the truth, when it comes to my flops; Havaianas are my best summer friend! I discovered the Brazilian-brand YEARS ago while living in Australia and literally own over 10 pairs! L-O-V-E them...and can assure you this would never happen!
With all the recent mayhem over Chinese-made goods, reports are linking the skin rashes and chemical burns to the type of paint used on the Wal-Mart thongs! NICE...scary for SURE! You can read more on the entire story HERE and HERE and please do share with family/friends! Those are NOT the pretty, polished and pedicured Spring Feet that we strive for!
On a much more POSITIVE "shoe-designer" note...try to guess which famous designer is appearing on OPRAH today (pic below)? Give up...the face below is the main man behind the cult-worthy, celeb-crazed shoe line; Chrisitan Louboutin! His trademark red-sole is being reproduced on numerous lines and BOY is he MAD about that! Want to know the story behind the red-sole, it's super surprising! I would have never guessed, sooooo....CLICK HERE for more on that!
P to the S - Don't BUY Wal-Mart Flip-Flops and MAKE SURE to check out Oprah and her 'Face Behind the Name' show, TODAY!

Grrrr....why did she do this? My girl, my fave, one of the women I personally look to for fashion inspiration has made a serious MISTAKE here...what a fashion faux pas this is! At last night's 12th Annual Victoria's Secret Fashion show at LA's Kodak Theater, Victoria showed up in something that is hard to explain, and even harder to look at. But I gotta point out, my girl must be a reader because she also is showin' some bra...which is a bizarre new trend I mentioned in this recent post. As much as I keep saying this trend is FUGLY, I'm thinkin' we might just need to get used to it. Beckham is always such a ravishing, trend-setting and stylish celeb! This go-round, I've got to say, she just doesn't make the RunwayDaily 'cut' for her choice of ensemble...I'm sure tongues are wagging and well, her hot heels and cute brown pob at least are always a DO!

Ok...I love me some Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld but this just makes me angry, grrrrr! In Chanel's Spring 2008 show in Paris, Lagerfeld chose to add these anklet-pouches to a bevy of models in an array of colors. I can't help but point out their obvious similarity to the frequently talked about monitoring bracelets that graced the ankles of numerous celebs this year. Court ordered to wear, would I ever think this is fashionable? HELLS-TO-THE-NO! I do not, in any way, respect that these three women below HAD to wear these bracelets for reasons of uncontrollable alcohol/drug intake and other reasons. Maybe it's the traditionalist in me, but Karl, come on, be creative in other ways than condoning under-age drinking (a la Lohan) and monitoring bracelets. The rest of Chanel's Collection was captivating and trend-setting beyond belief...but for you Karl, next time, when the idea arises to channel something that stands for breaking the law...I think you should take the higher road and simply..."Just Say No!"

This is amazing actually...I still can't believe it. My glory story on this subject: so about a year ago, I was leaving home to visit my parents and my wonderful husband informed me that the 'ban' had been lifted on lip glosses and I could now carry them 'worry free' without a ziplock-bag around them! WOO HOO! I packed up all 20 (no lie) and threw them in my carry-on...I have four words for you: THEY...TOOK...THEM...ALL! Every last gloss, boo hoo! So, I have dealt with airport confiscation before and am NOT too keen on it! But this I can actually understand. British authorities seized Tokyo-based Australian fashionisto Jason Coates black patent-vinyl Marc Jacobs gun-shaped handbag charm. Poor guy, he must've been SUPAH sad to part with his fake glock (did I really just type that). Lesson learned, leave all gun-shaped charms at home before flying!

Milan Fashion Week is starting and these bilboards are all over Milan!!!! Wow, right? Seriously, this ROCKS!!! Do you find it too graphic? I do, just an itty-bitty-bit...BUT, I love that Italian photographer Oliviero Toscani is NOT afraid to push the limit and truly convey what a horrible disease anorexia is and what it can do to people. We all know the issues the fashion industry has always had with anorexia...I tip my hat to Toscani, graphic or not.

OMG(awsh)!!!! Maddison Gabriel - here is this precious 8th grader in Australia...probably dreaming about Zac Efron, owns 20 different flavors of Lip Smackers and well...is yearning for school to be out for summer (it's Australia, remember...opposite seasons!) The crazy Ozzy's (yes I DO know first-hand...spent a year there, post college) have officially made her the 'face' of Gold Coast Fashion Week and for OBVIOUS reasons, much scandal is being attached to it! Child exploitation, much? Grrrrr...I find this utterly ridiculous, no matter how freaking cute she is...she's just a BABY in the modeling world! Come on, at least let her be a teen, she's 12 for goodness sake! Oh Maddison Gabriel, your beauty does exceed your age, but love, just wait a few years...you're a guppy in a big bad shark pond and your parents shouldn't be so ready and willing to throw you in!!!
