This is a look I absolutely adore on every level. It's menswear and preppy but sexy and understated all rolled into one. I mentioned lace up oxfords two years ago on my birthday (HERE) and just want to reiterate that they are supremely fashionable, functional and cool as can be.
I've posted some pics above...three celebs and three gorgeous Chictopia Fashion Darlings. I've got to give props where they are due, so moving left to right, you can check out more of these ladies lovely looks via these links; Chica0770, Slumberdoll and Deathbyplatforms.
When sporting your lace ups, I'd recommend adding at least one more touch of menswear to the look. Like many of these women above, a blazer was that essential addition. It could be a fedora, a plaid shirt or a great vest...I'll let you make the call.
One thing you must do, is feast your eyes upon the lovely pickin's below. So many great deals on lace up's there's no reason you shouldn't adopt this trend. Forever 21 has some great choices for uber inexpensive prices. Enjoy and lace 'em up already, fashionistas!

A flurry of black and white has emerged on the recent fashion scene and I just had to share. Black and white looks are classic, easy to pull off and well...many of our wardrobes are already overflowing with the pieces to emulate the looks. Ranging from saucy LBDs to hot sequin shorts to a perfectly fitting sheath...if you're in search of some great ideas for holiday dressing, RWD has got you covered.
Take, for instance, Katharine McPhee's laid back look (upper left, all black). I love her hair ribbon, bomber jacket, sleek leggings and black T combo and the dark eye makeup. The entire look can be thrown together with ease from pieces you probably already own.
I also totally dig Eva Mendes's ensemble. That lacey white dress, slouchy and sleek blazer and all black accessories have me eying a look I'm sure to try over the Holiday season. I also love her dark grey eye makeup too. So should you be wanting to mix & match some new pieces in your wardrobe, these gorgeous gals might provide the perfect image inspiration you need to get going. If not, I have some fab pieces below, all under $50, for you to add into the mix. Enjoy!

I absolutely love to pour through all the pics of the Glastonbury Festival, each year! (One year, I promise, I'll actually be there!) Except for the constant staple: a pair of Hunter WELLIES...everyone seems to don uninhibited fashion that they just threw on and voila, a total masterpiece is made. European fashion, I feel, is always a few steps ahead of American fashion. Whenever I'm in Europe, I ultimately come home with numerous accessories that actually 'get big' in the US about a year later! So naturally, I'm quite 'cool' way before everyone else, per say. So yes...European fashion is something I love to emulate, watch and soak in, both from afar and right in the midst of it all!
I've chosen three different topics to cover that I found easy to emulate in your everyday life...and also just images of looks that I genuinely liked. We even included some cutie testosterone in the bunch, today. First up...plaid garbs ran the gamut. We've mentioned plaid to you before, HERE, and think it's something you might want to Buy Now for Fall. Next, how about layering on a bright pair of Wayfarerst? Some serious POPS of color were exhibited in eye-wear at Glastonbury. Don't be afraid to branch out and away from your blacks, browns and tortoise shell...it's summer, go BIG and BRIGHT!
Last up...you already know I love me some Little Black Shorts! Adorable denim cutoffs (remember, we loved Alexander Wang's version on his Fall Runway) are what stole the show at Glastonbury this year! And what better way to sport this style than showing some fabulously toned and tanned summer legs! Even if you're not headed to any grand music festivals anytime soon...these are great ideas to mix into your Summer Wardrobe and maybe some ideas for that July 4th BBQ tomorrow! Enjoy!

Lately, I've been noticing the red carpet has been flooded with an assortment of plunging necklines. Glancing above, you see a bevy of beauties absolutely aglow and looking ravishing in their particular versions. I honestly LOVE every single look and think each lady wears the plunge with class and elegance, which is hard to do. A plunging neckline can, dare I say, look a bit trashy if not done correctly. So how to wear it? To help you better understand, I've added some key looks from the Fall 2008 Runway Collections, below.
Then glancing at Zac Posen's and Christian Lacroix's looks you'll see one is a classic suit and the other a full skirt. Both are donning black tights, to keep the look more streamlined and show only minimal skin. THIS is how to wear a plunging neckline. Let the plunge be the skin-baring part of your ensemble and keep the rest conservative and classic...that's an easy DO! I've added some speedy-savvy-stylin' below to get your plunge-addiction going. It's a great alternative for a SUMMERTIME DRESS but will also carry over nicely into your Fall wardrobe too! Enjoy!

Pearls are a go-to item for all your Spring/Summer LADY-LIKE ensembles. Back in January, we made pearls one of our Top 5 Timeless Accessories, HERE. Many ladies receive pearl necklaces for different achievements in their life, or wait...is that just a Southern 'thang?' I got a gorgeous necklace and bracelet combo for my college graduation. So, should you have a strand or two hanging around in your jewelry box, possibly un-used...it's time to re-invent your pearls and wear them with everything! Keep your other accessories minimal, as the three lady-loves did above, and let those pearls glow gorgeously, so pretty and polished!
Above, we see Ashlee Simpson in a flirty LBD and NUDE HEELS that are perfectly accessories with a double strand of pearls...I think Simpson's are Chanel but less expensive versions are available below! I like how one strand is almost below her waist and the other is the perfect complimentary link! Take notes, this is a golden example!
Next up, we see Katherine Heigl looking just smashing, again in nude heels and limited accessories so as to not compete with her pretty pearls. She donned a triple strand, same-length necklace that fell in between Ashlee's two lengths. Which do you prefer? I think both Simpson and Heigl's necklaces could be worn at the same time, for a more LAYERED look, too!
Lastly, we have Sarah Jessica Parker sporting smaller accessories and a killer FLORAL frock. As you can see, her strands drape nicely with the longer being the same length as Heigl's and the shorter being the same as Ashlee's smaller loop. Parker's pearls are a bit bigger than the other ladies but they still look refined and chic.
I've added some speedy-savvy-stylin' for you below, just in case your jewelry box is void of pearls or your ready to invest in another classic piece of timeless jewelry. Also, don't be afraid to play with different color pearls. The pink, black and grey pearls have always really caught my attention so I might just have to add one more pearl necklace to my personal collection.
Are you daring? Then pair the unexpected with your pearls. A rocker-T or a casual everyday ensemble will provide the perfectly juxtaposed pearl-wearin' canvas. Bottom line: pearls dress any look up, just a notch, and if you've seen SATC The Movie...I'm sure you remember Carrie sleeps in her pearls! I don't know if I'd ever go that far...but go for it, if that's the sort of be-dazzlin' nightwear for you! Enjoy!

We've been telling you about this for a while...layer on some gold chains...puhleeeese, my lay-dees! First spotted/reported HERE, via the Givenchy Fall 2008 Runway. Then, we later spotted the layers on Sarah Jessica Parker, HERE! So, when Madonna recently stepped out looking like she just left the Givenchy Fall 2008 Show, we just had to show you how to incorporate this trend into your daily wardrobe, pronto.
RunwayDaily has actually been sporting multiple chains for over a year now...and will earnestly admit that some funny looks were given, at first. But it's usually those that get scared venturing outside their predominately Gap/Banana clad wardrobe (love the brands, but I them mix with other pieces too). It's a risk, that's certain...but if done right, layered gold chains can look Rock Star cool. Wear them with confidence and know you look like a bad-ass! Let me show you how to get it just right...for day and night!
(Click for More Info and Where to BUY!)
I've provided you with a day and night look, above, that can quickly put all your chain layering questions at ease. Starting with the three necklaces...first, a long chain that hangs at the thinnest part of your waist, next a medium length necklace(s), ours is really 3 to 4 chains in ONE. Lastly, add a shorter layer than has some sort of charm on it. This will give the layers some depth and will not overtake your entire ensemble. Keep the layer of clothing under the necklaces very monochromatic and simple. Notice I chose a yellow sun-dress with a simple SWEETHEART neckline and a long black MAXI DRESS with simple CAPPED SLEEVES.
I also wanted to make sure to show you that the ONLY items you'll need to trade for day into nighttime would be your DRESS/SHOES! Maybe you'd want to switch out sunglasses for a chic SCARF,too! But voila for a transitional and functional new trend. Enjoy experimenting with this one...let your chain hang low for ANY soiree or day shopping! Enjoy!
