Givenchy's Fall 2008 Collection just knocked my socks off! Killer gilded accessories ran rampant atop monochromatic ensembles. Three key accessories made my eyes glimmer, so I feel it is my duty in life to share them with you. First up...the extraordinary layering of some seriously chunky gold chains:
(Click Thumbnails to be Directed to ShopStyle for Info & to BUY!)
We all have a large collection of gold chains, no doubt...but let's just say yours is only so-so! Please just take a look and breeze through my speedy-savvy-stylin' above. Yes, that's right...all chains are under $50 so there are no excuses. I'm not saying you have to layer as thick as they did at Givenchy...but don't be afraid to pair 3 or 4 together over a white ensemble for Spring and black for Fall. Up next...the Gold Gladiator Sandals:
(Click Thumbnails to be Directed to ShopStyle for Info & to BUY!)
You all should already know my upmost love of all things Gladiator (Here and Here and Here and Here.) Yes, we officially have a fashion crush. Point made, over and over again...invest in some Gladiator sandals. And as far as Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy is concerned, the more golden the better! Lastly, add a little Golden Heart to your ensemble:
(Click Thumbnails to be Directed to ShopStyle for Info & to BUY!)
This is the perfect accessory addition to all those LADY-LIKE looks we've been chatting about for Spring, as of recent! Then carry your lil' Golden Hearted Goodness on over, into Fall, paired with black or a darker shade.
So we're definitely up for giving some golf claps to Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy for inspiring us to broaden our gilded horizons and add a little glimmer to our Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter ensembles!

Ooh lah lah! Paris Fashion Week came alive, in a sexy way, with some really seductive laced-up pieces. From corset belts at Jean Paul Gaultier and Balmain to laced-up long/mini skirts at Yohji Yamammoto and Rick Owens, numerous designers added a new twist on cinching in their pieces. I certainly have my eyes on these laced-up leather corset belts, since I've been lusting over Dolce & Gabbana's metal version, and all it's expensive-ness, for-evvvv-verrr! Seriously, you know these just scream sexy for the obvious idea that un-lacing = un-dressing!!! The pants that graced the runway for Balmain (below, left) are a bit too hippy-hippy-shake (Sienna? You could work it girl!) for my liking...but to each, her own! I do firmly remember my first bridal magazine and asking the hubby which gown he liked best...every single time he'd pick the one with the laced-up back, saying it was very sexy! Just wanted to highlight some laced-up style that's boho-chic, western and S&M all at once! Below, some speedy-savvy-stylin' for you...pieces can truly be found at high/low prices everywhere. I'll leave this one up to your own personal-style rules, but be sure to incorporate at least ONE sexy laced-up piece into your fall rotation, even if just in stunning accessory form!

Fashion Week Frenzy - a trend reappearing in New York, London, Milan and Paris runway shows.
The newest addition to our frenzied report are all pieces stupendously...STRIPED! The spring runways were alive with frocks covered or accented with stripes. Black/white, spring pastels, red/white, horizontal, vertical, sideways...there was no method to each designer's madness when it came to this frenzy. You honestly can't go wrong, thankfully, due to so many options. Horizontal stripes are hard to pull off BUT I've nicely included some great pics of celebs appearing out and about sporting their stripes to inspire you. They can look nautical, daring, sophisticated or race-car drivin' COOL! Pair a striped oxford with jeans and you're school-girl sweet. Opt for striking black and white pieces, a la Beckham and Moss, letting your inner mod SHINE! One thing's for sure, stripes have been around for centuries but are popping up everywhere and on everyone, as of recent!
Some speedy-savvy-stylin' for you, below, to jump start that engine and get stripin'! How Holiday-worthy is the Marc by Marc Jacobs pastel bibbed number ON SALE? Ooh lah lah...I might just have to scoop that one up for myself!

Fashion Week Frenzy - a trend reappearing in New York, London, Milan and Paris runway shows.
The newest addition to our frenzy is the very versatile piped blazer. You could even pair it with our previous fashion frenzy, oxford shoes. We saw piped blazers first on the Fall 2007 Balenciaga runway...Nicolas Ghesquière and his creative genius obviously started a trend that other designers drew inspiration from. Check out Balenciaga's killer piped blazers below. You gotta love his pairing of sandals and socks as discussed in a previous post. For Spring 2008, numerous designers added a piped blazer, or two, to their Collections. I'm loving L.A.M.B.'s colorful rendition, upper right of bottom pic. That black and white piped blazer paired with bright colors is just the key item that I'm after to go from Fall to Spring...so versatile. So, keep your eyes peeled for a killer piped blazer...wear it all Fall and Winter, then pair it with a flowing sun-dress as the Spring approaches. One thing's for sure...piped blazers are a great addition to any wardrobe and transcend all seasons if done right! I'm sure I'll have some speedy-savvy-stylin' for you later!

Fashion Week Frenzy - a trend reappearing in New York, London, Milan and Paris runway shows.
I love NAVY! It is a color that is sooo under-rated and under-utilized, but has such WOW factor, pizzazz and sex-appeal! It looks sophisticated and simple yet stands out gracefully in a sea of "boring" LBD's (Little Black Dresses...don't make me remind you again). It entices a regal spirit and eludes to riches, unknown. Navy just does it for me, every...single...freakin...time! I have only a few strong pieces in my wardrobe that are navy, but I tell you what, when I DO wear them, this always happens; my eye color pops, I feel strong but also feminine all at once and my posture seems so perfect (like I've truly enlisted). So many navy frocks were seen on the Spring 2008 Runways so I saved you the time of looking through multiple pics and just chose my fave four that EACH incorporate other trends I've recently mentioned to you. Left to right; an amazing trapeze dress with a DAZZLING neckline at La Perla, a SWEATER dress and skinnies combo at Nina Ricci, a ONE-ARMED wonder at Aquascutum and lovely layers paired with a killer STATEMENT necklace at Tuleh.
Some PYT (Pretty Young Things) have also been spotted all over Hollywood and have already enlisted as well. Jersey with Loubs on Mandy Moore, CRISS-CROSS neckline and yes, my LOUBS again on Gwen Stefani, polka-dot parade on Emily Deschanel and lastly a gorgeous sateen number of Marisa Tomei.
It's Friday and I'm feeling awfully sweet, so I've already included some speedy-NAVY-stylin' for ya way below! Ladies, seriously, sport some NAVY in the next few weeks...and you'll also be ready to enlist on a daily basis!

Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks came alive with bright and fun colored leather. Unexpected indeed, as we all think of leather as more of a winter wardrobe, go-to item. Not this year! Leather in the form of shifts, button-down shirts, belted collared dresses and more sauntered down the European runways. Doesn't it nearly look like they're all ready for an Easter Egg Hunt!?!?!? Seriously, you can think grey leather for the fall and winter season...but come spring, you better get ready to galavant around in some fab pastel animal skins...hey, you can go fake or real, I won't ask! You know I'll be back with some speedy-savvy-stylin' for you in a bit!

Paris Fashion Week was alive with fringe frenzy. Models galavanted down the runways in an assortment of fringed frocks and accessories. Scarves came alive as their tips and ends waved happily throughout numerous shows! Fringe, quite frankly, when covering an entire shift dress, evokes images of the fab 20's flapper era (upper and bottom left in the below runway shots). Fringe, to me, is hard to pull off in this way, a full gown of it, but easy to emulate on the end of scarves, shawls, capes, ponchos and dressing up some really cute high-heels. This, my friends, is a look that will last for a long time and also add a bit of 20's flirtation to even the simplest ensemble. Flap, flap, flap away...some awesome savvy-fringe-stylin' for you below! I'm seriously coveting the Christian Louboutin Fringe Peep-Toe Sandals on page 2! Ahhhh, how freakin' cute are they? Happy fringe hunting!

New York and Paris Fashion Week designers were just "too legit to quit" as far as forgetting MC Hammer goes. (Admit it, you're now humming: 'too legit, too legit to quit, hey hey!' If you're doing the hand motions too, laugh at yourself now!) Back to the post, hammer pants were spotted on the Spring 2008 Runways and I'm getting nervous and praying fervently that these do NOT come back! I'm just not a fan even though I begged with every ounce of my body to have a pair when I was younger. I've added some great pics to show you JUST HOW FAMOUS Hammer was...I mean, cover of Rolling Stone, his own Mattell Doll and a Simplicity pattern...he def had it goin' on! The looks on the runway were much more subdued than Mr. Hammer himself...they're basically a combo between skinny pants and wide-legged pants. All I have to say on this, if hammer pants are back in the style circuit soon, I have four words..."You can't touch this!"

Fashion Week Frenzy - a trend reappearing in New York, London, Milan and Paris runway shows.
Ombre - a technique of dyeing from light to dark...it's been around for a long time and is practically tie-dye's closest cousin! Numerous runways were ALIVE with ombre fabrics for spring. They have such a FUN and care-free feel to them, don't they? Diane Von Furstenberg and Matthew Williamson showed numerous ombre frocks and this gorgeous starlet was recently seen gallavanting around town in one! Ombre looks more high-fashion than tie-dye and is a much, much more rigorous process whose total cost depends on labour, desired colour, number of transitions and general difficulty of the job. Hence why we ALWAYS used to tie-dye our shirts at summer camp and never ombre them! I've included some magnificent savvy-ombre-stylin' for you below! The Prada bag is just lust-worthy and appears in all their newest ad campaigns but I'm also really diggin' the racerback tank from Urban Outfitters! Again, ombre frocks gallavanted down the runways in New York, London, Milan and Paris...what more reason do you need to invest in a piece, pronto? Happy ombre hunting!

Designers in New York, London, Milan and Paris must have been hunting recently and gotten some obvious creative inspiration! Each city had at least ONE designer that showcased pieces with, for lack of a better term, a bullseye visually apparent on the front of a frock, or two. Some looks are just whacky, click the jump to see those...while others are a really great compliment and super fun (below). Not sure how I feel about this look, in general for everyday, as I surely don't know ANY woman who wants to appear more 'round'...but if you glued a plastic arrow on the front of L.A.M.B.'s version (below, upper right) you'd have yourself one heck of a saucy Halloween costume...sexy over-the-knee SOCKS, def included!!

Oh I just love a sweetheart neckline. There is something so lady-like and attractive about it. It speaks for itself and needs little jewels to compliment. Ample busts can be 'contained' while little chests can be UP-LIFTED and corseted to look bigger...the best of both worlds. Sweetheart necklines have long been associated with girly charm and subtle sexiness but numerous designers on the Paris Runways showed pieces of all kinds with the stunning neckline. I have to say, I'm totally digging Sonia Rykiel's hot green number on the bottom right...how much FUN would that be to wear? The dip is just deep enough to show a lil' sumthin'-sumthin' too! One things certain, grab a frock with this neckline and everyone will want YOU to be their one-and-only-sweetie! Savvy-Sweetheart-Stylin' yet to come...I can only imagine the precious pieces I'll find for you!

Cropped jackets were all over the spring runways in Milan and Paris. Jacket hems falling right at the waist, above it, below the breasts and creeping even further upward...there was no controlling the CROP! And what a fine crop it was. This great jacket length can take a highly sophisticated look and downplay the dress(y) rehearsal to create a casual and fun feel. Unexpected colors, bright prints, sultry satins and classic black were all there. You MUST click the jump to see Jean Paul Gaultier's version...it's cropped so short it's practically nonexistent. We should all know, by now, these are the rage for fall...but what good news I bare as they are still going to be CHIC for spring...and the winter selection and colors can be easily carried over to next season. Simply tossed over a cute slip/maxi dress or even over a casual tank with jeans...from Target to Topshop, cropped jackets are easy to find now a days. YAY for cropped jackets, such a versatile look for all seasons! Speedy-Savvy-Stylin, you ask? Def check back later...I've got you cropped and covered for sure!

Primary School, much? Dressing in the dark? 5 years old and getting dressed for the first time? All these looks from Milan and Paris make me think these thoughts and more! I could dare to say a bit tacky too...but there is a serious art to mixing different prints and patterns. On the streets, I've seen some amazing work...because it is practically, a work of art when done correctly. Have you tried it yet? I'm up for the challenge for sure. Similar colors are an easy way to start out...and then go from there. If I catch any celebs or models who have mixed-it-up just right, I'll be sure to post the pic in the next few days. Coordination out the window on this one...come on mix-masters, get on it!

Milan is long over and Paris Fashion Week has come to an end, but that's no reason for us at Runway Daily to stop drooling over the pics and showing you what's WOW and NOW! Mirrors and studs lit up the European Runways with some serious pizzaz and biker-chic feel. Designers used the affect to make even the sweetest frock to appear tough and powerful, and it worked! There is just something about studs, mirrors, grommets and big pieces that ROCK MY WORLD and make a piece look that much more sough after. Check back later and I'll have some serious savvy stylin' for you because I'm interested to see what great steals are out there too! I also think I recently saw a famous starlet looking AMAZING in a mirror embellished Chloe frock...sure to include her as well!

No...cold...toes...here! Look at all the SOCKS that rocked the Spring Runways recently. New York, Milan and Paris all featured designers who willingly paired socks with dresses, short-shorts, shirt-dresses, jodphurs and long shifts. These weren't just your 'everyday' socks, people...they came in every shape and length imaginable! Knee high, ankle-length, over the knee and to the calf...each pair seemed to accent the garment just perfectly. I'm loving the sheer versions...and I have a little secret to tell you, after seeing this soon-to-be trend, yours truly danced around the house in heels and sheer socks and the hubby DUG the look (no, no, I was clothed) and I felt totally flirty and cute! You must click the jump, as Vivienne Westwood paired men's striped workout socks with bright yellow tights...UBER chic! Look below and you'll see a recent picture of Sarah Jessica Parker on the set of the new Sex and the City movie wearing, none other than, grey over-the-knee hotties. We at Runway Daily also loved that she paired the look with a sweater dress and oxford heels! YAY for Carrie Bradshaw back at it again and looking more stylish than ever. For us normal ladies out there, rockin' some hot socks is beyond easy to do...I dug deep in my sock drawer and already came out with some peep-toe pairing WINNERS!

"Criss-Cross makes you wanna" ... come on, don't be embarassed, you can fill in the blank! I'm not talking about a rap/hip-hop song this go-round but the type of neckline that continually sauntered down the New York, Milan and Paris Runways. Do you know what I truly love about this style? You can wear minimal jewelry and it's just a one-piece wonder! The cut looks chic and new and all eyes are drawn upward and possibly away from other problem areas when wearing a frock with a neckline that criss-crosses. Over twenty designers added at least ONE criss-cross piece to their Spring 2008 Collections and if that isn't reason enough for you to invest in one, I don't know what IS!

Brassière - a woman's undergarment for supporting the breasts.
Do we need to teach them a lesson in lingerie? Can I just point out, that the Spring Runway's were, by no means, keeping anything 'under' wraps. Bras, corsets, intimate things, lingerie, unmentionables or whatever you call them, were on total display and left nothing to the imagination, yet again. This is NOT a look I challenge you to emulate, on any level, unless, of course, it's Halloween and you are going as Madonna and sporting the infamous cone bra...or you're in the bedroom and well, I just don't care to know about that! Just wanted to share some bizarre-o fashion that we 'normal-folk' can all chuckle at...and please, for the love of God, do NOT try to be Elaine's friend in that Seinfeld episode when she walks the streets of NYC wearing her bra as a top!

Shants...just...kept...coming! Sheer pants were all the buzz and totally present on the Milan and Paris Runways! I saw one, two, three and then I knew...yep, a trend has emerged! Under skirts, blazers, hoodies, tunics and shirt-dresses, they were both baggy and 'hammer-style' (more on that later, ha!) and skin tight too! Some with colorful hues or simple black, white and grey. One thing is obvious, this might be our next spring HIT or miss! Obviously proper undergarments come into play with these so there are no more vah-jay-jay sightings, ever! I do think they add a feminine and sexy touch to any ensemble and might just drive the guys wild as they are SEE THROUGH and leave not a lot to the imagination. We'll just have to wait and see because unless you live on a tropical island, these might not be enough coverage for the fall and winter months! Check back later, it will be a BIG mission, but I'm up for the challenge and plan to find some savvy-sheer-sylin' for ya!
