Reader Rave/Fave: Amanda B. Needs the Perfect Beach Bag

Related Posts with Thumbnails

Amanda's letter for RWD

This sweet letter popped up on in our Facebook inbox recently (become a Fan HERE) and we're eager to share our finds with Amanda and all our dear readers. Growing up in Florida and then living in Australia/Caribbean, I know the value of the perfect beach bag. Although I adore a good straw version, I usually find my greatest luck while using a cloth/canvas bag that I can toss in the wash from time to time. Boat trips and sea water lead to a really sticky bag after a long days use, so this is something that I really consider when purchasing a bag.

Recently featured in our Earth Day roundup HERE are Envirosax bags which I love and adore. I would suggest these to Miss Amanda but she's in need of an interior pocket and they are lacking that feature. So without further ado, let me show you my top four beach bags below and why I adore them. I've also included some additional speedy-savvy-stylin' for some one-stop shopping to pick up those four gorgeous bags and also splurge on another lust-worthy and user friendly beach bag.

Amanda, we hope this has narrowed down your search for that chic and drool worthy bag. Nearly all of these bags have an interior pocket with either a zip or magnetic closure. Make sure to check that the measurements are the size your're looking for before ordering too. At such low prices, you could even grab up a few bags and rotate them into your wardrobe! Enjoy and thank you for your wonderful suggestion for a sunny and fun wardrobe essential.

Reader Rave/Fave: Alani Needs Some Parisian Style Hints for Her Upcoming Trip

Related Posts with Thumbnails

Alani's note to runwaydaily

I received an awesome reader request from one of my fave girls and readers. I'm green with envy as she's heading out for a week with a wonderful girlfriend to none other than...PARIS! This is Alani's first time to Paris and though I hear fashion nervousness in her email request, she is such a stunning fashionista and is always dressed to the nine's. Actually, I'm thinking she may have a thing or two to show those Parisian ladies.

Below, I've rounded up some fabulous real-life Parisian women for Alani to breeze through along with pointer snippets about how to emulate their impeccable style. Parisian women have incredible personal style and are beyond confident in their walk, talk and demeanor. So one thing that you must do while in Paris is don your ensembles in confidence. I know it seems hard to do when gorgeous gazelles are sauntering around you in covetable looks.

Have no fear Alani, you are confident, gorgeous and stand out wherever you go so I think this fashion 'must' will not be a problem for you, sweet friend. I've also created a great 25 piece collection that would be suitable for any traveling lady who is about to visit one of the most fashionable cities in the world. The envy of many, these pieces are tried and true and completely attainable. Enjoy Alani and hope this brings you subtle touch of Parisian flair to your already amazing wardrobe.

Reader Fave/Rave: Tiffany S Needs an All-Purpose Big Bag

Related Posts with Thumbnails

Letter from Tiff

We here at RWD love a big bag. I have two that I adore and a few more that get rotated in. Dear reader and friend, Tiffany, recently requested some big bag shopping for her to browse through as she's on the hunt. She's an avid traveler and is constantly on the go for her job. I've browsed through every big bag I know of and have come up with numerous affordable and splurge worthy options below.

One big suggestion is to make sure to know the dimensions you're after when ordering a big bag. If your laptop is 15 inches then you might need a bag that's 17 inches or more in depth or width. One things certain, a big bag is a go-to essential because you are able to throw so many travel essentials in addition to your everyday purse right in and feel organized and put together while on the go. Hope you find what you're looking for, via our selection, sweet Tiff. Enjoy!

Reader Fave/Rave: Rebecca C Needs Multi-Purpose and Comfortable Shoe Options

Related Posts with Thumbnails

Reader rave-fave - rebecca c

Ahhhh, I love a good Reader Fave/Rave! Today's topic is one that we all struggle with...well, at least most of us do. I know that RWD Hubby always rolls his eyes at the amount of shoe options I bring with me on vacation. But I can honestly say, there has been ONE TRIP in my entire lifetime where I've only packed two shoes. That was an all-girls trip to Thailand and I brought my Nike's and my havaianas. But that's it...because I'm always a three or more girl!

With that being said, avid reader Rebecca C. needs some guidance. Just like me, she loves her kicks. She's heading to Chile and Argentina (so jealous) and will be exploring and being her adorable adventurous self. But, this is also a lady that values comfort and her fashion choices, so in addition to durability, I know she wants to look feminine and cute too. In this day and age, comfort does not have to mean dowdy.

I've explored numerous different forums and think I've put together a supreme list of great ideas for Rebecca. All are close-toed options because there will be a chill in the air during her visit. My biggest suggestion for her is to limit herself to two options.

Pack a hiking/running/cross-training option...something you can use to get your workout in and also wear casually to do everyday tasks. Then bring another option that is a more dressy and lady-like. Something you can wear with a dress or dress-up and feel feminine and pretty.

If it were my trip and this choice was up to me...I have to admit that I love a woman in a hiking boot. I'm not an avid enough hiker to own a pair, but I've always wanted to wear awesome hiking boots with shorts. Am I weird? Who cares, it's such an empowering and sexy look. So, with that being said, I'd opt for one of my skin tone hiking boots below. Hey, a girl's gotta think about what elongates her gams at all times!

And my second choice? That would be something I could slip-on and immediately feel pretty and put together. I'd either opt for TOMS Shoes (if you don't know about this great shoe that gives back then click the link) or the Puma slip-ons. I also really dig the pink Nike's too!

So Beck, hope this helps you whittle down your decisions or even splurge on a new pair of kicks just for your awesome adventure. Make sure to take a TON of pics because CasaCullen is soon to launch a category where readers can submit their best photos to be featured! Enjoy...and may your 2010 adventures be your best yet!

PS - Oh yeah, you might be wondering where the gorgeous image above came from? Nope, I can't take credit. Art.com is a great site to purchase any of your home decorating art needs. Here's a LINK to the exact photo by Brent Winebrenner for $49.99. His photographic genius is awe-inspiring and make you want to travel the world, like, tomorrow! Also, if you have a Reader Rave/Fave of your own...feel free to email me the request at runwaydaily@runwaydaily.com!

Reader Fave/Rave: Cate L Needs to Find These Bangin' Biker-Babe Boots

Cate l boots - reader rave

A very dear friend and lovely reader recently posted a request on my Facebook wall. This gorgeous gal is on the hunt to find these stylish kicks. She posted the pic with the above request...but let me just tell you, RWD had to lighten the pic and enlarge it drastically...so excuse the poor quality.

Getting straight to the point, the exact pair have been FOUND below (yes, a woo woo for me). Hailing from the stylish shoe-gods known as Aldo, the Fraker is comprised of supple black leather and comes in at $130. (Click the image below for quick order)

Just in case Cate isn't totally sold on this exact style, I've lined up a plethora of amazing choices with similar stylistic features. They're all pretty badass and would look GORGEOUS wrapped with a red-bow (hint: Andy) on Christmas morning. Enjoy Cate and let me know how you go with these! I love them...great choice indeed.

My dear friend and bride-to-be, Miss Jordan R, is in desperate need of some fashionable advice for her Bridal Party ensembles. RWD is truly honored to actually be standing next to the gorgeous couple on their special day in August. The look so far? A gorgeous taupe colored and slightly metallic bridesmaids gown. So...the issue? What accessories to pair with it. I told Jordan not to worry...I have her covered.

Jordan mentioned the idea of loving pearl accents and also wanting the girls to only be in a kitten heel, no higher, as she'll be donning flats under her breathtakingly chic gown. She also has thrown around the idea of some color but eventually we were back to muted tones and metallic undertones. Gorgeous!

Since I didn't want to give away the exact look of the dress, I chose a 3.1 Phillip Lim Asymmetrical Column dress in a very similar hue. I've shown three different ensemble ideas above that I absolutely adore. The first and last being very classic, playing up the pearls and glam and letting the dress do all the shining. The middle ensemble takes cues from some black tones accentuating the fella's tuxes.

I've also added some rigorously search out speedy-savvy-stylin' below, with everything coming in at under $50. Metallic, black and creamy-white sandal suggestions along with some gorgeous accessories to take the dress up a notch. Thanks Jordan for letting RWD feature your fashion needs...I am truly honored to stand next to you and Nathan this August. No matter the amount of baubles and glam you give your maids...there will be no out-shining your gorgeousness on such an awesome day. Enjoy!

Reader Fave/Rave: Trinity F Needs Comfy Flats for Ireland Trip

Celebrities in ballet flats

I know, I know...insert eye roll. A trip to Ireland...what a lucky girl, indeed. Trinity F is our latest addition to the Reader Rave/Fave lineup needing cute but very comfortable flats for her trip. But guess what, this is her second request (HERE's her first). Here at RWD I'm all about providing all readers with the tools they need to be a standout fashionista on the prowl...I got you covered, Trin!

My inbox is flooded with requests daily but this one was just a casual post via my personal Facebook page (friend me: RWD). I was immediately about to just post an answer back but then I got to thinking...I know more women have the same question. So I got down to my detective work and found some well-researched answers for comfortable and fashionable flats for long days of sightseeing around the gorgeous Irish countryside.

Ireland, even in the Summer, is NOT known for its warm temps. I've provided some inspirational pics, above, of celebrities in fashionable, comfy, and layered looks...travel friendly is what we're after. I'm adoring Kirsten Dunst's leopard print flats and also what she chose to pair them with...you know I'm a sucker for SUSPENDERS lately! Take notice that three of the five looks incorporate simple black ballet flats. So chic, so Jackie O. Soooooo what every woman should own!

Speedy-savvy-stylin' below (classic black and colored) with all flats under $150. Now, I know many of you are like who would ever pay $150 for flats? Ladies, splurging on a comfortable black ballet flat is some of the best moolah you'll ever spend. I have the Hollywould Women's Hepburn Flat in Black (not the Target line, the nice designer version). I LOVE them and I adore that I can add the wrap around ties when donning them with cute Summer shorts or remove them when paired with skinny jeans. Seriously, worth...every...penny!

My research/fashion knowledge has chosen the other brands mostly for their comfort but also their fashionable wearability too. Trying to keep it under $150 was tough...well known comfy ballet flats from Tory Burch and Lanvin are in a higher price range. My suggestion to you Trinity, order 4-5 pairs, cruise around the house in them and send back the pairs you deem NOT perfect for your feet...let me know which pair(s) you decided on. Enjoy!

Reader Fave/Rave: Leslie J Needs Fashionable Heels for a Cute Spring Dress

Leslie

A dear reader and friend sent me this inbox request a few weeks ago and I was eager with excitement to get right back to her. Then I asked her if I could make it a Reader Rave/Fave. Upon her agreement, I got feverishly to work on this here delicious post, as shoes are one of my fave accessories.

Many of us struggle with 'what shoes' to wear with a certain ensemble on a constant basis. Frustrating? Yes. We ask a boyfriend, we ask a hubby...we ask a friend. At first I was thinking silver (which I DO believe would go perfectly well, too) but after pairing some silver heels with this J.Crew goodie I realized it was the wrong combo. They took away too much for the precious frock.

Next up, I moved onto gold and this is where I saw a definite marriage of colors; coordination and subtlety being key. The gold played, ever so nicely off of the orange tone in the flowers without overpowering and stealing the show. A winner for sure. I've provided both some casual and some dressy options below, depending on where Miss Leslie plans to don this Springtime goodie.

Casual Gold Sandals:

Fancy Gold Heels
(Click Thumbnails to be Directed to ShopStyle for Info & to Buy!)

Then I got to thinking how I would personally style this dress if it were my own? You know it...precisely what I've shown you next. I'd actually belt the waistline, covering up the center row of flora and purchase some perfectly matching strap-happy heels. (Sidenote - The closer the heels are to your own skin-tone the more they will elongate your legs, so make sure to take that into consideration when purchasing your belt and heels combo!) As I do many looks, I'd put a blazer (in this case, white for Spring) on top and then add a pop more of color with a turquoise clutch.

Below my styled look, you'll also find some nude/light brown heeled options too! Miss Leslie, I hope this gives you a great start on shoe shopping for this adorable Springy frock. As long as you keep the flats/heels very subtle and not overpowering, they'll be a great combo to this bright and festive stunner. You're gonna look gorgeous for sure...enjoy!

Reader Fave/Rave: Brittany C Needs Figure-Flattering Cocktail Dress with Inspiration from Scarlett/Salma's Sultry Styles

Scarlett and salma dress for their figures

Today's Reader Rave/Fave is none other than...my sister! She's been shooting me images of dresses for the last few weeks and is at a standstill on which style would suit her gorgeously curvy frame perfectly. I keep telling her to look at frock styles that similar figured women have donned (aka - Scarlett and Salma). But hey, she's a mommy to the adorable 7 month old Minnie, so I know her hands are full! I'm here to save the day and style my sister something sassy and bold for those upcoming soirees she will soon attend.

Her budget is pretty flexible because my sister has always been the type of shopper with this motto, 'If it fits, buy it!' Her tiny waist and explosive bust are something that makes shopping quite the task...and every woman envious. She's not afraid of bold coloring and also likes the idea of flutter sleeves. Funky accessories are also something that my sister always gets right. Taken this all into consideration...I've brought to the table some stellar pieces.

Since she's a new Mom, she rarely has many opportunities to get all dressed up and fancy so I want this look to make her feel supremely gorgeous. I've provided a collage of looks above featuring two ladies with similarly curvaceous bods; Scarlett and Salma. Playing off their looks, I've created some speedy-savvy-stylin' below to get my lovely Britt-Britt going...complete with numerous dress choices and some chic accessories. Naturally, since this is my sister...I've gone one step further and put together two of my fave combos from the pieces too! Love you lady and hope this helps...enjoy!

Reader Fave/Rave: Trinity F is Craving Long Legged Leggings

Celebs in long leggins

I have some long legs and tend to buy ankle leggings. They always tend to creep way up and eventually turn into cropped length after a few washings. There's nothing that annoys me more...grrrrrr! So, Trinity F who has a few more inches on me, is in desperate search for some long legged leggings. I think I am too! I'm sick of cheapie leggings that don't last and have only a few wears. As usual, I've added some celeb shots, above, to get your fashionista brain a tickin' for legging ensembles!

Trinity F mentioned possibly wanting the type that bunch around the ankle, so I've given her some great options to spice up her Fall/Winter Wardrobe in this area (I've already learned HERE that RD Hub doesn't like ankle bunches so keep that in mind if a man's opinion matters to you). Leggings aren't going anywhere, anytime soon, so it might be one of those staples that you spend a bit more on this year. When I was recently flying back with ZOLA BELLE, I wore leggings on my two long flights and was I ever pleased that I did. They are so comfortable, cozy and warm.

My fave from the speedy-savvy-stylin' below are the European Culture Leggings by Yoox for $60 and the Romeo & Juliet Couture Black Jersey Cheetah at Bluefly for $28. Both options would get some serious wear and rotation in my Fall/Winter wardrobe! I truly do think that longer leggings (all the way to the ankle) are much more flattering than the cropped or knee-length versions. If you already own a shorter length, just pair some knee-high boots over them. Maybe even ponder splurging on a killer pair of long leggings this season. You'll thank me later...enjoy!

Reader Fave/Rave: Jamie D Needs Fashionable Pregnancy Options/Hints

Pregnant celebs and signature style

You know we already adore BABIES (especially little ones named Minnie) and well, even though RD and RD Hub haven't had their own little bundle of joy just yet, we ARE getting a Yorkshire Terrier this weekend...does that count? Ha! Regardless, we both find pregnant women very gorgeous but I can totally understand how being pregnant would really limit your wardrobe options. Committed reader, supporter and great friend, Jamie D, recently shot me an email and said she was having 'issues' with her wardrobe. This is a reader I personally know so take my word for it, she has an amazing collection of clothing!

With that being said, I know Jamie already has some great basics to work with and she can easily add a few key additions to spice up her looks. I've compiled 10 great looks via some of my fave stylish pregnant celebs above, complete with quick hints underneath each image! You can never, ever go wrong in all black, à la Angelina Jolie, Nicole Richie and Halle Berry. Add a pop of color with a SCARF, comfy heels/FLAT BOOTS or a statement making bag!

Jamie D, embrace your adorable bump and please don't shy away from gorgeous gowns...a quick glance at Mila Jovovich and Christina Aguilerra will prove these leading ladies feel good on the inside and sexy on the outside! Make sure to utilize those items already in your wardrobe too. Striped cardigans, flowy dresses and solid colored separates are key. I've added some speedy-savvy-stylin' below to get all my expectant fashionistas on the right track. No one said it would be easy...but I'll have you know that your fashion sense doesn't have to get run-down, too! Enjoy!

Reader Fave/Rave: Tiffany S Needs New Gold Hoops

(Click Thumbnails to be Directed to ShopStyle for Info & to BUY!)

Earrings are a hot topic, lately! I just mentioned the awesome and HUGE Chandelier earrings at Zac Posen (HERE) and now I have a reader rave that has to do with ear adornments, too. Tiffany S recently shot me an email and said she was having trouble finding the perfect X-large gold hoops. Well, fear not sweet reader from the Big Apple, Runway Daily has you covered!

We told all readers, back in January, that Gold Hoops are one of the Top Five Timeless Wardrobe Accessories that every woman should own (check it out and learn the other four, HERE). I know that I have a simple pair of hammered gold hoops that are about 1 1/2" in diameter and they get some serious rotation in my weekly jewelry lineup. Sincerely hoping the above choices give you some fresh ideas, Miss Tiffany! Also, maybe this will inspire some other readers to add a pair of classic Gold Hoops into their Fall Wardrobe asap! Enjoy!
