Real-Life Runway: Under $100 - Kate Bosworth vs. Model Emily Senko in Mid-Drift Baring Chloé

Real Life Runway - Kate Bosworth vs Emily Sanko in Chloe

It's been a serious while since we've featured a Real-Life Runway post. Yep, it's Kristen Bell in August '10 right HERE so we're officially way overdue. Today's post features a great cropped leather corset paired with a wool skirt from the Chloé Spring 2011 collection. Model Emily Senko rocked it on the runway in ankle wrapped leather sandals and a tiny clutch. Her rust colored shadow (a HOT, HOT shade for 2011) and sleek hair emphasize modern and sleek minimalism.

Her contender, Kate Bosworth, paired the look with coral pink lips, loose locks and dark eye shadow. The only accessory we can see is a left pointer finger cocktail ring. Her opaque tights and pointy toed heels compliment the look and give her added height. I also think it plays up her shapely arms and peek-a-boo tummy. So who do we deem today's face-off winner? We're handing the trophy to Miss Bosworth!

PS - Check out the great cut out looks below, all under $100! Snag one of these supreme dresses and sport it to your next function!

Real-Life Runway: Kristen Bell vs. Anna de Rijk in Stella McCartney

Anna de Rijk vs Kristen Bell in Stella McCartney sheer dress

You know how much we adore a good 'who wore it better' post but we like to keep it positive, uplifting and downright praise-worthy around RWD headquarters. But we're also knowing that a winner has to be named so let's get right down to business and dissect these two glamorous looks, above. Model Anna de Rijk stepped out in a sheer chocolate and cream version of this jaw-dropping McCartney frock. Kristen Bell recently stepped out donning a nude and bright orange version.

Both are as equally lust-worthy in our eyes. There's also the similarity of nude shoes, minimal hair/makeup and accessories that's very apparent. We could actually toss a coin on this choice and call them both winners but since orange tones and coral hues always draw us in, we're going to give today's gold star of style to Miss Kristen Bell. Bravo Miss Bell (and designer McCartney) for a splendid depiction of runway for real-life...and done oh, so right! Enjoy!

Real-life Runway: Gwyneth Paltrow in Sassy and Short Preen Minidress

Gwenyth paltrow in preen

Yowzers...hot body karate! Gwyneth, Gwyneth, Gwyneth! And just when her rounds of stylish, svelte Ironman ensembles were in the way far back of my fashion-loving mind, Miss Paltrow steps out in this Preen stunner and resurrects every bit of fashion pride I have in her. Yep, this dress rocks!

Paltrow dazzled while donning the gorgeous frock at the Champions of Hope benefit gala for Children of the City in NYC. Her pretty and healthy blonde locks and adorable booties are the perfect additions, along with her subtle pink lips and minimal makeup. Not to mention her rather bronze gams and sparkly blue eyes...Miss Paltrow is definitely a sight!

Edita Vilkeviciute rocked the same gorgeous cut-out minidress on the runway for Preen in their Fall 2009 show. Both looks were styled to the bare minimum, letting the dress shine like the star it is! This is a total toss up but since I have to give credit where credit is due...I'm going with Miss Paltrow because she took a chance on such a daring number and pulled it off spectacularly! Enjoy!

Real-life Runway: Miley Cyrus in Hervé Léger by Max Azria

Miley cyrus in herve leger

When I saw this photo of Miley Cyrus in stunning mini from Hervé Léger by Max Azria's Fall 2009 Collection I was stopped fast in my web surfing tracks. I love, love, LOVE it! The fit, accessories, hairy and makeup are supremely perfect!

Model Anna Selezneva rocked the same frock on Azria's NY Runway in mid February looking a bit more rocker chic in her moto-boots, black nails, pulled back pony and sans accessories. This is an easy one for me...I'm team Miley all the way!

Real-life Runway: Drew Barrymore in Diagonal Striped Narcisco Rodriguez

Drew Barrymore adn Tara Gill in Same Narcisco Rodriguez Striped Stunner

As of late, Drew Barrymore is becoming quite the fashion fixture here on RD...first SUSPENDERS and now this gorgeous diagonal stunner! Not your average horizontal/vertical stripes...I was stopped in my web-surfing tracks when I saw this recent look on that she donned. I am so in love with this dress. She wore the black and white goodness while promoting her new film Grey Gardens in NYC. Her RED HOT Miu Miu pumps are the perfect complimenting accessory too. Not to mention her braided hair, red lips and very minimal accessories. So chic, Miss D.B.

Checking out the same dress on Narcisco Rodriguez's Spring 2009 Runway show, there are a few similarities in styling when Tara Gill took a saunter in the same number; a simple up 'do and minimal accessories. But I tend to opt for a splash of color when sporting black and white so I lean more towards Barrymore's overall look. But I do love me some STRAP-HAPPY heels, so Gill's sandals are still a do in my book too. Overall...Yay for Drew!  I've even added some speedy-savvy-stylin' to get your diagonal striped juices flowing. I love the MLH Boat Neck Sheath Dress for $75...such a steal. Enjoy!

Real-life Runway: Reese Witherspoon in Rodarte

Reese in Rodarte

I like when actresses take a fashion chance on the red carpet. I LOVE when it is one as right as this combo, above. Reese + Rodarte = Pure Gorgeousness! I felt like a proud Mother when I first saw that she chose this Fall 2009 frock to sport at the LA premiere of her latest movie, Monsters vs. Aliens. I'm admiring the face that she paired the artistic piece with Balenciaga pumps and, look closely, the yellow heels and shoe-back are such another unexpected splash of color. I dig a two-toned anything. Golf claps all around for Miss Reese!

Let's also take a moment to dissect the look that also sauntered down the runway in mid February. Kinga Rajzak worked the same mini-dress for Rodarte paired with Nicholas Kirkwood thigh-high boots. Need I even say I'm lusting after those boots...but Kinga's (ps - I LOVE that name) lack of makeup, tightly pulled back hair and somber expression only brings me back to Balenciaga Spring 2009. So, should I have to choose how I'd rather see this dress styled, I'm going with Reese. So perfect for Spring and so stylish for a red carpet appearance. Bravo!

Real-life Runway: Claire Danes in Show-Stopping Valentino

Claire danes in valentino

Claire Danes was recently spotted in a Valentino Couture Spring 2008 stunner. Danes was attending the premiere of Valentino: The Last Emperor in Venice. Most celebrities opted for floor-sweeping gowns. Danes choice of this stiff-net skirt, mermaid shaped Valentino body-hugger was a smart one indeed. The leading lady stood out, letting her gorgeous gams garner some serious attention in this short and sweet number.

Snejana Onopka worked the Valentino Couture Runway for his Spring show in the same gown. Bright pink lips, slicked back hair, elbow-length GLOVES, a little gold clutch and party-pretty PUMPS topped off her look. Although I love Onopka's entire look from the Runway...I'm leaning towards Claire Danes for this duel. That tan, her flowing/golden locks, strappy golden sandals (so perfect for late Summer) and her envelope clutch made this an ensemble that likely resulted in many heads turning and plenty of tongues wagging. Claire, you stole the show on this one...but not by very much!

Real-life Runway: Taylor Momsen in Gorgeous Marchesa Gown

Taylor momsen and oxana pautova in same marchesa gown

I love me some Taylor Momsen and I love me some Marchesa gowns. In a sea of WHITE lately, I found it weirdly refreshing to see Taylor step out on in a predominately black gown. But this isn't your typical black gown by any means. The workmanship, creativity and overlays make this a true work of art! She sparkled regally at American Ballet Theatre's Monday-night Spring Gala. At least no one else wore it, like the duo - HERE!

Oxana Pautova also wore the gown when showing Marchesa's Spring 2008 Collection. The young model had the 'straight out of the bedroom' look down pat. Who wore the gown better and whose look do I like best? Although I'm really excited to see a model "filling out" a Marchesa gown, as Pautova does...Momsen truly steals the show with her sleek locks, teenie accessories (necklace) and small chain bag. The gown is just ravishing and truly a stunner. It would be hard to make this NOT look grand!

Real-Life Runway: Emmanuelle Chriqui and Laura Blokhina in Same Stella McCartney Jumpsuit

Emmanuelle_chriqui_and_laura_blokhi

I love jumpsuits. I love Entourage. I love Emmanuelle Chriqui. I love Stella McCartney. Do you feel the love for this, here...post, yet? Well let me just get going and believe me, you will!

Emmanuelle Chriqui recently stepped out wearing her precious jumpsuit ensemble for Stella McCartney's Tuesday night garden party. McCartney hosted both a cocktail party followed by a special screening of the Peter Sellers classic The Party at her West Hollywood boutique. Do you adore Emmanuelle choice of ensemble? I do!

Above right, Laura Blokhina worked the same jumpsuit for McCartney's Spring 2008 Ready-to-Wear Collection. Let's dissect further to find out WHO wore it better. Shall we?

We've already told you how much we just adore a bit of jumpsuit action, HERE, HERE and HERE! So obviously...it's that time to invest! Glancing at the two looks above, I tend to lean towards belted waistlines as it CINCHES everything in perfectly. If you glance at Laura Blokhina on the Runway, you'll see that the jumpsuit just hangs off of her tiny (?) figure and a belt would have been a great addition to add some curves. So take note, if you're wearing an un-structured jumpsuit...add a belt! Who takes the cake on this one...I'm going to definitely go with Emmanuelle Chriqui!

So, how do you emulate this look? You can buy the orignal jumpsuit for $1395 right HERE...or you can just look for a less expensive option, via my speedy-savvy-stylin', below!

You want to know my faves from below? The Denim Jumpsuit from Newport News for a whopping $27.99 and then their Short Jumpsuit in dark peacock for $25 are both so precious...and how can you resist that prcie? Reminder: Make SURE to add...a...belt! A jumpsuit without a belt is just tragic, but belted, is pure chic. For a sure-fire way to compare again, check THIS out! Enjoy and yes, I agree, saying that Pamela Anderson actually made a correct fashion choice happens only once in a lifetime!

Real-Life Runway: Keira Knightley and Kim Noorda in the Same Valentino Gown

Keira_knightley_and_kim_noorda_in_v

This category, Real-Life Runway, is a really daunting task for me. First of all, I see many celebs totally ROCK runway fashion and never know which look to post. Secondly, I hate having to make a call on "WHO" wore it better. Today's post has me totally wondering which lady-love worked this gorgeous Valentino frock with exceptionally superior skill.

So first we have the always waifish/gorgeous Keira...hair down, light makeup and pale skin tone. I have to say, I'm not loving the gown color on her at all. Just thinking of how striking and sexy she looked in her emerald green gown in Atonement leads me to believe that girlfriend needs to choose colorful frocks!

Then we have Kim Noorda who seriously worked the same gown for Valentino is his Spring 2008 Runway show. I love her smokey eyes and pink lips...and her hair pulled back UBER tight is fierce and chic. As if anyone could be more skeletal that Knightley...but Noorda's collarbone is a force to be reckoned with.

I have to say for this one...Keira just looked washed out and plain jane...and she's ANYTHING but that. So today's challenge goes to Kim Noorda and her eye-catching posture and perfect pout!

Real-Life Runway: Joy Bryant/Natasha Poly in Ralph Lauren

Joy_bryant_and_natasha_poly_in_ralp

There are virtually ZERO fashion choices that Joy Bryant makes that I disagree with. The woman is walking fashion perfection, in my eyes. She is always supremely put-together, accessories are always trendy OR classic and the Runway frocks she chooses to wear at events are always exceptionally elegant! She dresses to show off her, uh-humm, assets and girlfriend has GOT them!

In this addition of Real-Life Runway, Joy Bryant is donning a look from Ralph Lauren's Spring 2008 Ready to Wear Collection. The gorgeous white gown, obviously, accentuates her beauty in ALL the right places. Bryant chose the look to wear at the at Tribeca Grand, where the Cinema Society and W magazine were hosting a screening of the Sundance Channel's documentary on Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton. She just rocked the red carpet and I adore her pairing of a black clutch, which is very under-stated and truly allows the gown/jacket combo to shine!

The Ralph Lauren stunner was worn on the Runway by Natasha Poly, as well. The gorgeous gazelle flaunted it, in a more avant-garde showing, with the collar up and less 'assets' exposed!

I like how both women had pulled back hair with dainty earrings, but Joy Bryant, once AGAIN, has stollen my heart in this Ralph Lauren, "Winter WHITE Goodness"...of a gown!

Real-Life Runway: Joy Bryant/Raquel Zimmerman in Zac Posen

Joy_bryant_and_raquel_zimmerman_in_

Pretty, lady-like, CAP-sleeved, jaw-dropping goodness! Can I just point out that: A - I love Joy Bryant and B - this gown just knocks my socks off and C - the color is that POP you need for your Spring Wardrobe! The red-orange hue is electric and draws you in...and the curve-enhancing cut will also flatter many different figures!

Joy Bryant worked the gown on the Art of Elysium red carpet, as of recent. She was quoted, on Style.com, talking about the stunner, ""I need a little swagger in this dress. It takes confidence, a little hip pivot, and a slow and easy stride." You can say that again, Joy!

Her competition is the always-gorgeous, Raquel Zimmerman, who worked the Runway with ease and poise for Zac Posen's Spring 2008 Collection. Her super long neck and pulled back hair shows off the exaggerated cap-sleeves and deep dip in the front. Hmmmm, who do I think takes the cake for this look?

I must say, I give this one to Joy Bryant. Both women glow in the Zac Posen dazzler but I love Joy's addition of a killer cocktail ring (on her right pointer finger) and then the lady-like matching clutch. Her hair half up also gives the ensemble a more elegant feel too! Bravo Joy, you've managed to take my breath away, yet again!

Real-Life Runway: Katharine Heigl in Bill Blass and Drew Barrymore in Gucci

Reallife_runway_katharine_heigl_in_

Four gorgeously clad ladies in two STUNNING gowns have truly brightened this dreary and rainy, San Francisco day!

I loved this Bill Blass sparkler the second I saw it on the Runway for his Spring 2008 Collection! I'm soooo happy a celeb 'chose' to sport it! So party-perfect and beyond festive. Model Anna, no doubt, worked the Runway but Katharine Heigl takes home the gold. If they were truly competing on "WHO wore it better" Heigl's addition of a chunky beaded necklace, grey peep-toed pumps (LOVE them) with black pedicure and a classic up-swept 'do just round-out the ensemble is such a lady-like and stylish manner!

Onto the CRISS-CROSS necklined Gucci-goody! This particular gown was also one of my FAVES from the Resort 2008 Collection (sidenote - it was amazing). One of the last few gowns to gallavant down the runway, Natasha Poly's slicked-back 'do, ankle-wrapped heels and subtle accessories were enough to make this gals jaw D-R-O-P! Then Drew Barrymore had to go and show her up! Her messy/loose hairstyle paired with a looser Gucci gown than Poly gave the A-list star a laid back approach to contemporary glamour! I love Drew in this gown...I love her in this neckline...and I just flat out LOVE her! She can do no wrong in my eyes...so, she WINS!

Real-Life Runway: Diane Kruger in J. Mendel and Burberry Prorsum

Reallife_runway_diane_kruger_in_j_2

What better early Christmas present than these two looks, above? I love love love all things Diane Kruger...and J. Mendel and Burberry Prorsum released two of my FAVE Runway Collections for Spring 2008...not to mention, orange and grey are two seriously FAB colors to sport!

The first look, above, is a gorgeous orange OFF THE SHOULDER look from J. Mendel's Spring Collection. It cinches Diane's teeny waist perfectly! I love her accessory pairings as well; a wide, gold bangle and some statement drop-shaped earrings to accentuate her neckline. Also, take note, Diane chose to wear her hair UP which shows off the off-the-shoulder style in a whole new light! Liya Kebede also 'worked' the look for J. Mendel's Spring show but this winner is obvious...GO DIANE!!!

The second look, above, is a short-and-sassy grey mini from Burberry Prorsum's Spring 2008 Collection. Diane wore her hair up and paired to look with subtle accessories and killer Louboutin mary-jane heels. Freja Beha Erichsen seriously 'worked' the same grey mini in Burberry's Spring show and mouths dropped. Her tiny frame and long legs were a perfect match for this cut. Burberry's pairing of SOCKS and sandals was unexpected (we've told you before, click the SOCKS link to learn more)...and the look is boosted to a rocker-chic feel with the addition of 'Terminator'-like eyewear! This one goes to Freja Beha Erichsen workin' the Runway at Burberry...Diane IS a close second, though!

Merry Christmas, early, to YOU! I've included some killer speedy-savvy-stylin' for you, below!!! These are HOT colors for fall/spring so maybe an orange or grey flirty frock will make it on your party-rotation-ensemble LIST soon! Make sure to breeze through BOTH, but just to give you a heads up...all the GREY GOWNS below are under $150!!! I love you, too!

Real-Life Runway: Fergie in DSquared

Don't you just love some Real-Life Runway? I do. So I was chatting with the hubby last night and asked him what he thought of this look and his response, "In my mind, the celeb seems to always wear it better...some of the models are so scary looking to me and I just don't get it!" Ha, ha! Men are so funny! Soooooo, I'm sticking with the family on this one, but NOT because I think model Tanya Dziahileva is 'scary' at all, I actually LOVE her look...but because Fergie went oh sooooo short and sweet for the American Music Awards Show (RunwayDaily's Belles of the Ball for the AMA's coming soon). Fergie's showin' off her stems and the tighter fit of her mini also accentuates her ample bust ("sorry, Tanya"). Fergie's legs are something to be reckoned with and do...not...ever...need...to...be...hidden! Girlfriend knows how to work one of her BEST assets, right? Not to mention, her hair down, middle part, loosely pinned back (check out WhoWhatWear's coverage of this hair style is angelic-looking perfection for the seemingly tough lady-love Fergs HERE). I likey, I likey a LOT! So yes, RD's Gold Star for wearing the amazing DSquared halter gown with show-stopping glam goes to Miss Fergalicious! Golf claps, anyone?

Real-Life Runway: Lee Ann Rimes

Lee Ann Rimes stepped out recently for the Country Music Association Awards night in a blush colored Monique Lhuillier stunner. The gown not only played well off her fair skin tone but is the perfect gown to accentuate her gorgeous figure. I remember seeing this gown on Lhuillier's runway and even saying to myself, "Wouldn't that be SOOO much fun to wear!" I mean, for any girlie-girl it is practically a dream gown. But let me point out that not just ANYONE can pull this look off. Rachel Clark wore the same gown in Lhuillier's Spring 2008 show and just didn't shine as bright. I'm not really digging the grey hair wrap either...takes this gorgeous and formal frock and makes it sort of hard-core rocker-chic and that's just not the vibe I like with this one. So this one goes to the celeb!! Golf claps to Lee Ann for also topping her look off with some GORGEOUSLY-coveted blingers, her earrings and bangle...working the look to a T! A true shining star and sophisticated country diva!

Real-Life Runway: Kylie Minogue

It's been quite a while since we've posted a Real-Life Runway...so today is the day, my fashion mavens. Here we have the gorgeous Kylie Minogue sporting a killer frock from Dolce & Gabbana's Fall 2007 Collection. She was attending the Music Industry Trust Prize ceremony and looked ravishing. The gown accentuates her light skin tone and platinum hair indeed. BUT...let me point out to you why I think the model takes the cake on this one. Snejana Onopka worked the runway with elegance and poise as well, but it's her accessories that allow the gown to TRULY sparkle and shine. How about that metal corset belt we talked about earlier?!?! Ummm...one word = LOVE! It cinches Onopka's waist and shows off her curves better than Minogue's. I don't mean to do some curve-comparison, per say, but a cinched waistline would have given Kylie the pop needed to truly pull this look off! More RunwayDaily golf claps for Onopka's look; the gown is a bit looser than Minogue's so it fits/flows much better, the sleeked pulled back hair looks glam and the classy T-strapped heels finish off the "flapper era fantasy" to a T! Hands down for me, Snejana Onopka worked it better this go-round!

Real-Life Runway: Thandie Newton

I love me some THANDIE!!! Ahhhh, she's absolutely one of the most stylish actresses today who always exudes beauty and is the first to try out a new trend...classily (yes, I just made that up) and lady-like, for certain! Seen below at a private viewing for Matthew Williamson, celebrating his 10 years as a designer...she's OBVS a Matthew FAN! She worked his gradient/tie-died frock, featured in his Spring 2008 Collection...just look at those shoulders! I have to say I much prefer Thandie's Givenchy heels to Sheila Marquez's yellow-lace-up booties...but those booties would ROCK paired with skinnies and a SWEATER DRESS, right? Real-Life or Runway...hmmmm? Yeah, right! Easy one! Hands-down...Thandie is keepin' it REAL for sure!

Real-Life Runway: Cate Blanchett

Looky, looky at what we have here...a one-arm clad wonder woman, truly a site for sore eyes: Cate Blanchett in Missoni! As you can see, the shorter nude-colored version landed front and center in my previous post, but this gown just takes my breath away. It's hue is so bright and alluring...can we dare to say even a bit NEON...it almost puts you in a comatose state, doesn't it? I'm sure many wouldn't have chosen it, because it's risky and doesn't hug any curves, but I truly commend Cate for taking the chance...and I'm sure glad she did, becuase sistah sure looks GORGEOUS! Snejana Onopka, right, worked the Missoni Spring runway on September 25 with grace and regal presence and it obviously caught Blanchett's attention. I love the metallic border and as you can see, both ladies opted for smokey eyes to accentuate the gowns captivating allure! Bravo to both.

Real-Life Runway: Jessica Biel

So what do we have here?!?!?! The hottie that she is, Miss Jessica Biel (sans JT, darn) at TRL sporting one fresh fall Missoni frock. Biel's pairing of the gown with subtle makeup, minimal jewelry and nude heels is classy and elegant BUT I feel it doesn't do her smokin' bod ANY JUSTICE! Agree? The dress, featured in Missoni's Fall 2007 Runway was worn by Marina Pres and I have to say that if this were a competition for 'who wore it better' ... I'd give it to the MARINA!!! Her waist is accentuated wonderfully with that awesome belt (see, goes to show you what 'cinching' a waistline can do for a figure) and her grey tights really play off the subtle grey hues in the dress. The belt also provides a wonderful accent for bringing out the brown tones in the dress and her long and flowing hair gives the whole ensemble a more boho-chic feel. Who won in your book? I must say they both look amazing and I'm sure Missoni was loud and proud about Biel choosing this rockin' frock for her appearance on TRL!
