RunwayRadar: Spring/Fall 2010 Trends - The Anorak

Anoraks on the fall 2010 runway

Ayy yay yay...have I got good news! An awesome new 'go-to' item of clothing that's been loitering on the recent and present season runways. It's also probably buried deep in your closet and is so on-trend this year...the anorak!

No joke, the last time I've heard that work and being stylish in the same sentence was literally when I was in 7th grade and everyone wanted the ones that the Gap sold and they folded up into their own little bag. I remember mine was bright orange and have grey piping. Yep, I have no idea why I remember that, ha!

Back to the fashion at hand...keep an eye on this here, anorak runway trend. I do think I'd opt for a more body-contoured version or possibly belt my waist. I'd pair it with either my skinny distressed jeans or a cute pair of shorts and flat boots. It's laid back, casual and cool and it's something I deem to be quite the stylish piece in the next few months.

Maybe all the Winter Olympic dressing has something to do with this...either way, I love an affordable trend. Great anorak's below chiming in under $100! No reason not to get on board...enjoy!

Runway Radar: July 4th Celebration on the Fall 2008 Couture Runway

Red white and blue on the couture runway fall 2008

Happy July 4th to YOU! Would you beleive it, if I told you, at this years Fall 2008 Couture shows there was an entire Independence Day Celebration on the Runway? Yes...I'm serious! Glancing above...you'll see the Runway was jam-packed with July 4th's signature color palette; RED, WHITE and BLUE! Designers featured in this juxtaposed display of patriotic pride are; Christian Lacroix, Jean Paul Gaultier, Valentino, Anne Valérie Hash and Alexis Mabille. Are you going to sport some red, white and blue today, too?

Oh no...the BBQ is almost over and the sky is growing darker.  The summer sun is setting upon us. Don't Elie Saab's foursome of gowns perfectly depict the changing sky on a beautiful July 4th evening? That can only mean one thing...quickly get yourself to an outdoor viewing area with blanket/champagne in hand. Ready yourself, surrounded by family and friends and see the fireworks spectacular that your particular city is showing. Don't you worry, RunwayDaily's Couture show isn't over yet either...even the Runway had fireworks too!

Fireworks...in the form of the most sparkly, gorgeous and light-reflecting gowns ever! Designers featured above; Valentino, Chanel and Armani Prive. Don't the jaw-dropping pieces honestly look just like a near perfect firework display? The bottom right from Armani Prive looks like those HUGE bursts that trickle down the sky and I always find myself wondering...could one of those embers land near me? It never seems to scare me away...as I'll be back out and watching another dazzling Fireworks show again! Enjoy!

Runway Radar: The Hervé Légér Bandage Dress

Celebs in Hervé Légér Bandage dress

Hervé Légér Bandage dress on the Fall 2008 Runway

I absolutely LOVE me some Hervé Légér Bandage Dress. It's a dress that looks killer on skinny-minnies but it also becomes a ravishing, curve-hugging and sexy look when women with more curves are spotted in this dress-perfection. Take a look at the celeb ensemble I've laid out for you, above. We have an array and assortment of body-types but all six women absolutely look smokin' in their Bandage Dress.

The Fall 2008 Hervé Légér Runway came alive with new spins on this old favorite. Max Azria (of BCBG fame) acquired the label in 1998 and took over the design reins last year. With a near celeb-cult following, Azria had big shoes to fill but is obviously doing so with ease. I chose my top 8 Bandage dresses that sauntered down the Fall Runway, above. The subdued color palette and OMBRE formulas were downright drool-worthy . I honestly cannot pick a fave because I could see myself wearing all 8 looks.

As I usually do, I've provided some speedy-savvy-stylin' below, but buyer...beware. These sexy bandage dresses come with a high ticket price. I was unable to find any under $700 so this might just have to go on your Christmas List. Or...shop the hot sales and make it your WOW dress to wear over the Holiday Season. Enjoy!
