Runway to Reality is a killer RunwayDaily Category for those sort of days/weekends when you just STARE at our closet and start cursing every item of clothing in it. You don't have TIME to run out to the mall or nearest boutique and your creative juices are NOT EVEN flowing! My dears, that is precisely WHY I created this category.
It's tough to be a fashionista everyday. Dare I admit, I've been known to sport a Juicy suit every now and then and some Adidas sweats...but I really do try to LOVE every ensemble that I cloak my bod in! So back to today's post...Hippy, Hippy Shake! Balmain's Spring 2008 Collection was chock-full of hipster attire and as the first day of Spring is swiftly approaching, March 20, I find myself ready/willing/wanting to wear light colors/light weight fabrics, again!
I've included two looks that are directly inspired by Balmain's Spring Collection...and are they EVER the classic spin on hipster fash! I know, I know dear readers, that Twiggy was a whole different fashion era...but you have to admit she's pretty darn cute strikin' a pose, there, in the background! So enjoy all the goodies from the speedy-savvy-stylin'! There are some pieces I want you to take notice of; Spring scarves are soooo Hollywood glam for a casual outfit = a definite DO! How about the flat GLADIATOR SANDALS, do you have a pair yet? Get yourself some for Spring! And just like our recent Male Byter, Chris mentioned in his post HERE, some large eco-friendly bags are included for storing all your Spring Shopping "spoils."
I'm absolutely loving the speedy-savvy-stylin' today because I would totally ROCK-out in both of these ensembles, and they are so very different! One look is pretty in pink and one is tough girl chic, so go ahead and decide which look YOU like best and get on it...shop away. So, out of curiosity, which lady-love are you?

Alberta Ferretti's Spring 2008 Ready-to-Wear Collection was submerged deeply in Greco-Roman themes with Goddess-like desire. Always the romantic, Ferretti chose color combinations found on temple sketches and played them out to perfection in her signature choice of fabric, chiffon. The pieces flowed like magic and stole the attention of critics, for yet, another year!
Today we're going to take a closer look at two ensembles that sauntered down her Spring 2008 Runway! Both looks incorporate key pieces for spring, such as; BRIGHT colors, STRAPPY PLATFORM sandals and FULL skirts! I've provided some exceptionally inexpensive speedy-savvy-stylin' for you to make the look your own without making even a tiny dent in your petty cash!
Without further ado, let's get to dissecting and re-creating these stellar looks from Alberta Ferretti's gorgeous Spring Collection!
Above, take notice of the gorgeous model, Diana Moldovan, on Ferretti's runway. The look pairs two unlikely hues, peach a bright red/dark orange shade of skirt. Breeze through my styling and you'll see my additions to the playful ensemble include; a great silver CUFF, a FLORAL tote and some sparkly STAR-drop earrings! I love this colorful and show-stopping look...it evokes images of basking in the first warm Spring sun while reading a really, good book!
Above, model Irina Kulikova took the Runway in a BRIGHT orange tunic, FULL linen skirt and statement making belt. So chic and laid-back, this look caught my attention right away. I've recreated the look, and added some of my own touches, via shopstyle.com and am ecstatic with my finds. Adding to the look, some key Spring accessories to step the look up a notch; a medallion necklace, FLORAL ring (that I just love) and a denim VEST!
Effortless chic is what I'm constantly after and these two looks embody that precisely! Thank you Alberta Ferretti for your incredibly bright. daring and sophisticated Spring Collection! It overflowed with the feminine details that we here, at RunwayDaily, covet in certain outstanding Collections! Bravo!

Christian Lacroix is known as a grand master of exuberance in the fashion world. His designs are iconic, his taste is extravagant and his pieces are jaw-dropping. Today we're going to take a look at some of his more subtle ensembles from his Spring 2008 Ready to Wear Collection.
Black, white, navy and metallic "glow" characterize the palette on the two chosen looks below. Each are laid-back and casual (great for a day of Spring shopping) but also have an added richness that brings the look up a notch.
Notice the STATEMENT NECKLACES, STRIPES and the wee-bit of NEON on the under tee...all things I've already told you will be HOT for Spring!
I've included some speedy-savvy-stylin' underneath each look, below. It's not exact because I've added other touches, but it gives you a start. My fave touches? I've exchanged the brocade long short-sleeved jacket for PIPED BLAZER in Spring white. I've also added bags to each look; a RED and a YELLOW...fulfilling your spring accessory POP of color! I'm not even gonna mention my LOVE for the striped skirt...I want it N-O-W!
Inspiration for everyday wear CAN be found from one of the most ENERGETIC designers of our day. You just have to dig deep and make the pieces work for YOU!

Dolce & Gabbana's Spring 2008 Ready-to-Wear Collection overflowed with 50's fancy and sheer romance! Brocade fabrics covered everything from an oversized tuxedo jacket to classic cut trousers. Lady-like and overtly feminine were the main theme throughout the show...and also, something you should be opting for this Spring!
Featured above, model Snejana Onopka works the Dolce & Gabbana Spring Runway in a flirty, classic and exceptionally trendy look. Incorporating a SHEER blouse, a FULL SKIRT, a SKINNY BELT and spring-worthy peep toe booties, Dolce & Gabbana aimed to please and they did, just that!
I've added some speedy-savvy-stylin' below to show you the Dolce & Gabbana inspired look for DAY and NIGHT! How fun? Brocade skirts are going to be H-O-T for spring-time! They are super FUN and should find a place on your fashion radar, PRONTO! Pair them with feminine details like I did below; pearls, cameo rings, opaque tights, cuff bracelets and killer bags! The sheer shirt, belt, brocade skirt and peep-toe booties are ALL inspired from Dolce & Gabbana, so I can't take credit...but DO emulate because the lovely-lady-look will turn heads for sure! Make sure to click on the Polyvore Collage below to find out more about each look!

So naturally, I love to watch and scour through photos of Runway Shows...but many times the looks are unattainable or quite frankly, don't cross-over well into everyday life. I'm here to show you looks that work GREAT in your everyday wardrobe at WAY WAY WAAAAY better prices!
Badgley Mischka is one of my fave design duos EVA! Mark Badgley and James Mischka released their Fall 2007 Collection with an obvious, non "red-carpet" exposure, in mind. Easy, sophisticated, casual elegance sauntered down their Runway with each look more captivating than the former. In true Badgley Mischka form...the ending was a bevy of gorgeous evening gowns...but we'll DEF save those for some upcoming New Years Eve(ning) Gown posts!
Here we have three looks below. All three play with grey and black hues with the addition of camel and light yellow. Gilded accents take the looks up a notch and the equestrian feel of the riding boots is so CHIC right now. Comfort and style...what more does a girl need? The sleek, long, leather gloves are something to 'take notice' of...they are 100% on my Christmas list this year! And how about that STATEMENT NECKLACE? It appears in two of three looks as I've added it to the camel turtleneck/jumper ensemble...but DO take notice, my dears! Layer your statement/chunky necklace OVER your turtleneck for added POP! All three ensembles are perfect for your upcoming Christmas Brunch, last minute/intense shopping trip OR a Holiday stroll with your loved one to look at CHRISTMAS LIGHTS! Don't forget the eggnog...spiked, especially for me!
Badgley Mischka Total = $1,000's and $1,000's
RunwayDaily Total = After each look below!!!
RunwayDaily Total (Comfy Sophisticate in Mellow Yellow Cardigan) = $212.81
RunwayDaily Total (Cosmopolitan Equestrian) = $294.14
RunwayDaily Total ("Old" Hollywood Ease) = $535.47

Oh what a treat, treat, treat I have for you today! Rag & Bone is one of my TOP 10 Runway Shows that I so look forward to every single year. Not only is it chock-full of a stunning celeb audience (always in their best menswear inspired looks) BUT the collection's are always a stand-out! Subdued hues, menswear pieces and structured cuts just scream STYLE! I'm posting three killer looks below from Rag & Bone's Fall 2007 Collection. All three combine black, white and grey hues in a simplistic manner...but all are ensembles that will turn heads this season!
As usual, I've included some speedy-savvy-stylin' for you too, but GUESS WHAT? I've also added an amazing extra section of lust-inducing and Christmas List-worthy BAGS!!! I know, I'm so nice! They arrive in new shapes and three HOT colors to add an accentuated POP of attention to these Fall/Winter Rag & Bone ensembles. I also give each look a "YES" for shopping-comfortablity! This is so important because 'tis the season for scouring the city to cross OFF all those special presents on our long lists of to-buys!

Holiday Season is in FULL swing so many of you will bust out your fave LBD to wear to par-tays! I'm here to show you, via the Chloé Fall 2007 Collection, that adding some pops of color to your LBD will enhance it's sex appeal and trendsetting ability. Red, yellow and blue kicks and some killer accessories take the front seat and transform the most boring and unrecognizable LBD and launch the ensemble into a whole new style stratosphere!
I've added a few extra touches to the speedy-savvy-stylin' below; sweet vests, the officially 'in' knee-socks, sparkly clutches, a show-stopping cloche hat, striped tights and a fresh new spin on the corset belt to lure you in. Inspiration for steppin' out of your LBD box! Sport a look that others will remember and covet this Christmas Season!

Below, some looks aimed to inspire for SURE! With "PAR-TAY" season right around the corner, we're probably ALL scrambling for the 'it' ensemble to wear. Well, I'm here to show you, with some added Zac Posen inspiration, that "HOT" Holiday outfit is as easy as 1-2-3! I've provided you with three lust-worthy looks, including two super festive holiday dresses; one in GREEN (a hot HUE mentioned in this recent post) and a stunning sparkler in Silver! Some looks to inspire you for sure. Fall is here and in full swing which means LAYERING! It's honestly an art form, but added inspiration to re-think your technique is always needed. So here it is! Nicole Miller showed some amazing skill in her Fall 2007 Collection, layering unexpected pieces to create looks that are chic, comfortable and have stand-out style. I've re-created three different looks below to show you that Runway looks can become a reality in your everyday wardrobe. Long black skirt, metallic skirt, little black jumper and classic white shirts round out your 'go-to' pieces for your 'Nicole Miller' Holiday season. Some added charm (fun hats) and metallic touches (chain necklace and big gold belt buckle) bring each ensemble up a notch for accentuated glamour! Remember all pieces can be interchanged too. Add the belt to the jumper look to accentuate the waist or place the sheer white-T under the nude colored top in the metallic skirt look for added warmth! Hope you're as inspired as I am to recreate these trendy looks, a la Nicole Miller!
Nicole Miller Total = $1,000's and $1,000's
RunwayDaily Total = After each look below!!!
RunwayDaily Total (black jumper look) = $148.26
RunwayDaily Total (long black skirt look) = $161.73

I was feeling quite giving as the holiday spirit is starting so I've included TWO looks from the Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2007 Collection. Each look is topped off with this fall's "IT" accessory, a beret, creating a Parisian-chic style for sure. Layering of unexpected colors is also included with the blue scarf over a black dress and both looks are rounded out with tan socks layered over black opaque tights. All three pieces are found in the speedy-savvy-stylin' to show you just how DIFFERENT two looks can be by just switching out a few items. Just a lil' sumthin, sumthin to get you thinking as the temps begin to drop. You, my love will also be the one lookin' COOLER in your Marc Jacobs INSPIRED Runway looks!
