First Look: Style Advice Under $100 - Transitional Dressing from Kelly Wearstler's Fall 2011 Collection

Usually you'd find me posting about the amazingness of Kelly Wearstler over on our home decor/cooking blog CasaCullen. Why? She's actually known as one of the most sought after interior decorators in the biz. When we got word that she was branching out into fashion, we knew she'd have only great things to share. Her ability to layer in (both home design) and wardrobe aesthetics is clearly obvious and her keen eye for mixing textures and unexpected color combos has us always wanting more.

Her fall 2011 collection surely didn't let down and we're happy to share some of our fave looks, complete with 'how to wear' advice, in order for you to make the look your own. We think she hits on quite a few pointers in her looks so make sure to heed the advice. We also love her overflowing use of the color blue and how she paired it together in an unexpected and interesting manner. Read our advice and then shop our hand-picked (and very similar) blue pieces way below to bring out your inner Wearstler...enjoy!

Kelly Wearstler - Fall 2011 - 001m

Advice: Pair this season's blue dress with a long sweater from last season and throw a skinny belt on to cinch that waist in.

Kelly Wearstler - Fall 2011 - 002m

Advice: We love the idea of a striped blazer and midi skirt (this a-line version is adorable!) Pair these pieces with this year's statement necklace, a choker, and your go-to seasonless boots!

Kelly Wearstler - Fall 2011 - 003m

Advice: Woo hoo for Converse making a collection appearance. Kick back in your chucks by sporting them with black crew socks. Top it off with your fave t, this season's bright blue skirt and any infinity scarf for a chic daytime look.

Kelly Wearstler - Fall 2011 - 006m

Advice: Last season's harem pants will find a place this fall again! Tuck them into your boots and throw on some suspenders for instant style chic. Sport your favorite sweater and long chained pendant over it all!

Kelly Wearstler - Fall 2011 - 007m

Advice: LOVE this look! Pairing three different shades of blue is a fresh approach for fall dressing. We love the combo of the mini skirt, striped T and satin blazer. This would be perfect for brunch with the girls or a casual date night with your love!

Kelly Wearstler - Fall 2011 - 009m

Advice: Tights that don't bore are my new bff! Love this plaid version and the accessories that are paired with the look. This 3/4 sleeved blue dress will be your bff/fave layering piece all fall long!

Kelly Wearstler - Fall 2011 - 010m

Advice: Yowza trowza, we love those pants! If you don't have a bow tie blouse then opt for a skinny scarf tied in a bow (more advice on scarf wearing HERE) and a cropped blazer from previous seasons. The wide leg trouser is one of fall's hottest pieces so make sure you have a pair!

Kelly Wearstler - Fall 2011 - 013m

Advice: A striped T never looked so good! Pair it with previous season's bubble skirt and statement wedge heels and you have yourself a daring look. We also love Wearstler's addition of the layered chains (including choker) and bold charm bracelet!

Kelly Wearstler - Fall 2011 - 014m

Advice: Are you seeing a color combo trend? You better be! Orange and pink are not for fall! Bold, bright hues are where it's at this season. Make sure to bust out last season's high waisted skirt and pair it with this season's lady-like blouse! Top if off with a daring choker, massive cocktail ring and serious cuff and you're ready for cocktails!

First Look: Style Advice - Fall Fashion Favorites from the Front Row at Spring 2012 NYFW

Mandy-moore-290

Advice: Mandy Moore stepped out in a bold dress that's one of fall's hottest hues: rusty red! Layer it with last season's statement necklace and metallic heels. Also, take note of her matching lip shade - love that!

Amanda-seyfried-290

Advice: Don't exclude your favorite sherbert shades when dressing this fall, just like Amamanda Seyfried. There was a strong surge of this color palette so make sure to sport one of these shades soon.

Ashley-tisdale-435

Advice: I'm so in love with Whitney's Port's look. Sheer army green, mustard a-line skirt and a animal print clutch round out the ensemble. She's one of my favorite (and risktaking) ladies to watch. My girl, Ashely Tisdale is sporting a tshirt and choker necklace, which is one of fall's hottest accessories.

Elisha-cuthbert-290

Advice: Yeah, yeah...I know what you're thinking. Color blocking was so last season but pulling it off in this seasons lady-like silhouette and in unexpected shades (including fall's mustard) means a fresh take on an instant classic. We adore Elisha Cuthbert's look above.

JAIME KING & EMMA ROBERTS

Advice: Jaime King and Emma Roberts are all pleats and smiles. A pleated piece is muy importante if fashionable fall dressing is top on your list this year.

Lea-michele-290

Advice: Lea Michele's nude dress and slit hemline is photo perfection but it's her bold blue shoes that have us drooling. Opt for a unexpected pop of color when sporting nude hues.

MANDY MOORE, JULIANNE HOUGH & ROSE MCGOWAN

Advice: Mandy Moore (here she is again, what a stylish lady), Julianne Hough and Rose McGowan sport some of fall's hottest shades. Reds, dark pinks, purples and rust colored pieces are hot for fall.

Rose-byrne-290

Advice: Rose Byrne's fresh pairing of bright pink and bold red heels is splendid. We're going to pairing these hot fall shades together all season long!

Style Advice: Casual Summer Dressing Cues from Airport Style Makers

Kim-kardashian-290

Advice: Kim's laid back approach to airport travel has us totally smitten. A striped/roomy tank paired with a black cardigan or blazer is always a classic choice. Add in some baggy boyfriend jeans that are so comfy you can don them for days and some adorable sandals, and you have the makings for one laid-back and casually chic look!

Kristin-cavallari-290

Advice: Jean jackets are one of my personal faves when it comes to summer layering. Kristin shows us how cali-cool it can be worn over a long white maxi and bronze sliver thongs. Understated jewelry and a killer tan round out her look.

Sarahjessica-parker-290

Advice: SJP just screams chic in this easy to pull off look. A perfectly fitted V-neck shift dress will earn a top spot in your wardrobe for sure. Pair that piece with an oversized bag, your favorite ballet flats and a cross body purse and you're ready for the jetset life.

Rosie-huntington-whiteley-290

Advice: Can I just tell you how gorgeous I think Rosie is! Oh my gosh, I could stare at her forever! Ok, moving on from my girl crush, let's focus on her look. Just like Kim, baggy and comfy boyfriend jeans (cuffed) are key here. I love her ballet flats with the ankle wrapped chains. A massive scarf, heather grey T and black sweater up the ante and that gorgeous brown carryall has me drooling for sure!

Style Advice: Great Fashion Pointers for a Trendy Fall - Pieces Under $100

Ana Mihajlovic and Lindsay Ellingson

Take a fashion cue from Ana Mihajlovic and Lindsay Ellingson and don a sheer piece this fall. Layer a sheer white tank over a black bra for the ultimate in sex appeal (Ana) or opt for a belly baring sheer tank under a crop top (Lindsay) in a fall hue. Both ladies look ravishing, fresh and totally on trend.

Like this look? Shop these pieces:

Chloe Sevigny

We've always been a fan of the uber darling and daring Chloe Sevigny. Today's look pairs fall's fave florals with leather and denim and...we love it! Look closely, we're thinking this is a denim vest layered over top of a denim bomber, so chic and sleek!

Devon Aoki

Devon Aoki's timeless look is perfect for a fall night out and about. Layer a sheer floral top over a dark bra and pair it with flared leg, perfectly fitted black pants. High waisted black pants are a great investment piece that will withstand every trendy season and will be a timeless wardrobe accent.

Like this look? Shop these pieces:

Eniko Mihalik

We love the grey blazer Eniko Mihalik is donning in this image above, but upon further inspection we can aptly see this is not commonplace blazer. This sleek jacket option is actually a sweater disguised as a blazer. Keep your eye on this trend and scoop up a sweater blazer if you ever see one. We totally think this will be one of fall's hottest jacket options!

Kelly Rowland

Kelly Rowland strikes a mean pose in her animal print ensemble. We love the peek-a-boo bra and sleek brown booties too. Animal prints are all the rage for fall so make sure to sport yours with feline pride.

Style Advice: 5 Fashionable, Affordable and Cool Summer Looks via Five Chictopia Fashion Darlings

Cutoff sweatpants as shorts

Modedamour from the Netherlands

Our Style Advice on this look: Make something old...unexpectedly new again!

Why we love it: The sheer idea of cutting off a pair of old sweatpants and making them into a chic pair of cuffed summer shorts just makes us smile! Not to mention, pairing those goodies with one of fall's hottest go-to pieces, the blouse, and you have yourself a striking white ensemble. Lastly, this Netherland beaut chose to pair the look with a great structured bag, a boyfriend watch, bangles and loafers.

JoannaLadrido from Makati, Phillipines

Our Style Advice on this look: Be daring and pair new color combos together!

Why we love it: What isn't their to love and adore about a bell sleeved vintage tunic? We love how this fashionable lady paired it with aggressive turquoise accents and striking metallic gladiators. This just goes to prove that being daring, colorful and show-stopping can be had with pairing unexpected color combos together.

TheCapriciousClub from Quezon City, Phillipines

Our Style Advice on this look: Statement pieces look fresh over a new romper!

Why we love it: Pairing that jean jacket from the back of your closet with some seriously strappy platform heels is a must for summer. Vamp it up a level by donning a great romper with this statement making duo. PS - Top it all off with a great shade of bright red lipstick, just like the gorgeous gal above.

Golestaneh from Location Unlisted

Our Style Advice on this look: Blend menswear pieces with classic basics!

Why we love this: Starting with the panama hat and working our way down, there's pretty much no piece we don't adore. The laid back trousers paired with that perfect summer tank (some great options under $50 HERE). Add a pop of blue in cardigan form and nail color (look closely) and some statement making oxfords...yep, we officially have a girl crush. Love this look...it's so Euro-chic!

Shop the Look:

RozasChic from Madrid, Spain

Our Style Advice on this look: Resurrect some key pieces from last fall!

Why we love this: To start with, we'd love to get our hands on that bright Balenciaga bag. Secondly, pairing a laid back and bright plaid shirt with short and gam bearing cut offs for summer is tres chic. Add  some feminine detail via a sweet pair of shoes...and in her case, that comes in the form of pretty bows.

Style Advice: Key Ideas for Accessorizing Your Summer Dresses

We're rounding up some great ensembles and striking ideas for a fashionable summer season. Dresses are a supreme way to stay cool in that impending heat and these six gorgeous gals have totally gotten in right, in the dress category. We'll dissect and tell you why each look stands out and what advice you should heed too. We've also rounded up some great pieces under $100 way below that go along perfectly with our adivce...enjoy!

03m

Bold Blue Dress

A stellar pop of blue color in a great mini-dress is so appealing and sexy. If the hemline is uber short, opt for a dress with 3/4 or full length sleeves. Pair the look with a chunky necklace (we chatted about that HERE) and your fave, badass and sexy heels.

12m

Sexy White Lace

We adore a bright white dress and this sweet and sexy lacy version totally grabbed our attention. We love the pairing of the creamy/metallic clutch but mostly we're here to sing the praises of those earrings. A pair of great turquoise earrings (more on that color HERE) should be every girl's go-to summer accessory. DO NOT let me catch you pairing an entire turquoise set together...just don one piece at a time for uber chicness.

13m

Blush, White or Cream Blazer

Toss that dark navy blue or black blazer back into the way back of your closet. For summertime, opt for a chic peach, white or cream colored blazer. We love that you can still use all your fall/winter pieces to complete this look, but the fresh hued blazer is the main ingredient in this summer worthy ensemble.

06m

Fave New Dress with a Ladylike Hemline/Cut

Don't shy away from an uber girlie hemline. A calf-length a-line dress is moving up the ranks and is going to possibly be the next trendy silhouette. Have that old bridesmaids dress in your closet from years ago. Think about hemming it right at your calves and donning your fave ladylike accessories with it and you have yourself a runway ready look.

04m

Long Cardigan for those Chilly Summer Nights

Even though summer is pretty much HERE we know that many of you are still dealing with chilly evenings and cool afternoons. Since the temps are already in the triple digits here in Texas, we're totally jealous of you. With that being said, we'd love to point out the chic long cardigan of last year's complete trend rage. Still don it with your fave bright summer dress and some statement making accessories. Even opt for two rings on your pointer and middle finger, like we've spotted above. That huge bib necklace and oversized cuff bracelet make this look so modern, chic and gorgeous.

Natasha Poly

Sheer Overlay

Mmmmm, one of our fave looks. The bandage dress (more on that HERE) that was all the rage last year can be re-used for summertime fun. How? Slightly covered by a great sheering overlaying piece and some trendy strappy sandals. Top it off with sleeked back hair, smokey eyes and a great clutch and you're ready for a sexy date night out on the town.

Style Advice: Early Fashion Hints from Marc Jacobs Fall 2010 Collection

Style advice from marc jacobs fall 2010 collection

I love Marc Jacobs! Do you know his show is the one collection that designers, artists, buyers and bloggers patiently await every year? You can pretty much cast a wide net on the pieces he sends down the runway and bet big money that, in one way or another, they'll show up on the racks of H&M and Forever 21 in 8-12 months. I promise you! You've already learned that his oversized bags are complete celebrity obsessions HERE.

With that being said, I wanted to take a moment and highlight some important new key trends I saw prevalent on his runway. Jacobs' runway palette was overwhelmingly filled with metallics, grey tones, shades of mustard and a complete spectrum of blush/neutral colors. So take notes on those shades and keep an eye on them for fall's hottest fashion finds.

Reading above, you can totally get on the bandwagon early and try these combos this spring. You'll get your feet wet and totally be ahead of the trends. I love the idea of donning an entire neutral ensemble with a statement making bag. And how about that three piece suit with that mustard envelope clutch? Sex-ay, indeed. I also love the idea of wearing socks with flats or socks with sandals (which we've chatted about via Burberry HERE) so also give that a go, too. Just yesterday I donned sweet socks with my converse and some cute rolled up khaki shorts.

Readers, it's the little things that make you feel stylish and daring so opt for stepping outside of the fashion box by following these bits of advice. I've also rounded up some Marc Jacobs-esque pieces below to emulate some similar combos as above. They are all under $100 so they won't break the bank like a Marc Jacobs ensemble might. Enjoy and happy Friday, loves!
