Style Inspired: Currently Craving Top Ten - Simple and Stunning Ways to Wear Fall Layers

So I'm hook, line, sinker...head over heels in love with Pinterest. Ok, that might be taking it a bit too far but I'm absolutely smitten and now have to watch the time so I don't waste my life away over there, just pinning away. We're pinning under CasaCullen but have recently started a fashion board HERE. We intend to grab great looks from all over the internet to share with our readers and today marks a first Pinterest inspiration post.

We love/adore so many of these real life ensembles. Focusing mainly on fall/winter dressing right now, I've pulled some seriously smashing looks that will compel us all to step outside of our comfort zone and don something daring and different. And just like yesterday's long layering post HERE, it's also great to scour through some eye-catching imagery (below) to remind you about pairing that sweater with those jeans and this scarf. We all need a fashion nudge so hopefully today's post inspires you and also gets you over on Pinterest to check out our newest addiction crush.

Style Inspired: Trendsetter - Matching Your Shoes to Your Ensemble

I'm not big with matchy-matchy, but somehow this bridesmaid-eque look is totally it for me. I love the idea of having a monochromatic look, straight down to your shoes. You can keep it simple/casual like Busy Phillips or go for the glam look like Blanchett and Lively.

So what do you think about this? Do you do this already? Is it something you'll try? I'm totally going to give this a go in the coming months. A red dress with red shoes will probably my first go-round and then I'll venture into other color palettes. Enjoy and have a great weekend!

First Look: Style Inspired - Rachel Roy's Fall 2011 Collection

We loved this collection when we saw it and can't wait to show you some of our favorite pieces. Our love for Rachel Roy is undeniable because she's really a woman's designer. She knows our bodies, accents via her silhouettes and knows we want double-duty pieces for a wider range of wear. Her Fall 2011 Collection (it'll be here before we know it) garnered wide acclaim for stepping away from her eveningwear and finding her place in ready-to-wear daily pieces. Check out some of our faves below and click HERE for more Rachel Roy goodies!

Trendsetter: Style Inspired - Hip Head Coverings at the Paris Couture Shows

How they cover their heads at the paris couture shows

Some of the biggest trendsetters aren't those strutting it down the catwalk. They're actually the pretty lil' things sitting in the seats watching all the action, rushing from tent to tent. And yes, we're well aware of the fact that numerous models in everyday garb are also big style setting head-turners (chick out THIS category) so it's likely we have a few of those thrown in for good measure too. So moving on to the post at hand, let's chat head coverings for those chilly spring temps. Be daring this spring and sport a new head covering that lightens up your mood and warms your noggin.

Let's dissect and chat, moving clockwise from the upper left;

1 - love the ease and wearbility of a fur pom pom knit hat

2 - so chic and pretty, sew on some satin ribbon to your favorite floppy beanie to get this look

3 - everyone is crazy for an oversized panama hat so keep your eyes peeled for one

4 - sleek, simple and understated...a charcoal or black beanie will get it's mileage

5 - another panama delight, so eye catching and fresh

Style Inspired: Tropical Oasis à la Emilio Pucci's Spring 2009 Collection

Emilio pucci - tropical oasis - spring 2009

It's warm weather vacation season and I'm yearning for a tropical oasis. I know, I know...I just got back from Florida, but a girl can still dream. Matthew Williamson designed Pucci's Spring 2009 Collection with one single inspiration in mind...the birthplace of Pucci - the island of Capri. It's gorgeous, I've been there, I can vouch.

This was Matthew's last run as Pucci's head designer and boy, was it a doozy. Enticing every square inch of me to want to flee the states and head to any island, any where. The tropical prints, mesh heels, statement necklaces and barely there bags all have me yearning for one thing...the sun. I've put together some speedy-savvy-stylin' below, both steals and deals. If you're weekend forecast is anything like ours in Northern California, I'll definitely be donning a sweater but daydreaming of warm temps to come.

Not to worry, I'm off to Austin, Texas next week where the heat is sweltering and the BBQ is awesome...and believe me, I'll be taking my hot new H&M Tropical print maxi with me, along with some NEUTRAL basics and both of my PERFECT summer dresses! Enjoy and add a tropical piece to your summer dressing today!

Style Inspired: Carrie Bradshaw - Sex and the City (Season 1)

Sex and the city - season 1 stills

I have something very embarrassing and possibly shocking to share with you. Up until one week ago, I had never seen the first season of SATC! Insanity? Crazy? I know. My sister about choked in laughter when I told her this as she's a devout SATC fanatic...Season 1 ended up on my doorstep a week later. I, on the other hand, loved the movie but have only seen snippets of the popular HBO series...sis now deemed it time! So during my recent trip to Florida...I sat back, relaxed and enjoyed season one during our long cross-country flight. Yes, the time literally flew by.

More importantly, focusing on the fashion...and boy was I in for a surprise. I absolutely loved it and now know why the obsession took place and still does. Upon watching it, as I naturally do with everything, I'm scanning the choice of wardrobe and taking mental notes. All of the sudden I realized that many of the looks, colors and cuts are very much, back in fashion. Who woulda thought that SATC Season 1 would be on-trend in today's market?

Check the above stills from Season 1. Pieces that stand out; statement making color-block clutch, peek-a-boo lace, scarves galore, silky satin cocktail numbers, the color pink, fancy feathers and killer heels that are to die for. I told you so. Well, I've put together some speedy-savvy-stylin' below to show you some chic pieces that are 'very Carrie' and would be great additions to your Summer wardrobe. Enjoy and someone please loan me Season 2!

Style Inspired: Victoria's Secret Fashion Show from Viktor & Rolf's Spring 2007 Collection

Victorias_secret_fashion_show_2007

So here's hoping that some of you tuned in, last night, to the Annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show...because it was H-O-T! Ooooh lah lah...made me want to get a winter tan and do some more booty exercises, for SURE! Gorgeous gazelles galavanting down the runway in some of the most creative and awe-inspiring lingerie, EVA! It was enjoyed by all members of my household...wink wink!

I must say, mid-show, there was my loud gasp for air when my girl's Heidi Klum and Jessica White strutted these two looks, above, on down the glitter-covered VS Runway. Maybe there was a bit of a "Oh NO they didn't" in there too! Why did I freak out, you ask? Check out Viktor & Rolf's Spring 2007 Collection Collage, below!! Do...you...see...the...similarities? Guitars and music notes galore at Viktor & Rolf and then a not-so-subtle showing of similar looks at the "Vicky-Hush-Hush" (ya like that, don't cha?) runway show, last night!

Just HAD to point it out...and I have to say, I have some LOVE for guitar everything ever since my brother and nephews introduced me to the cult-worthy Guitar Hero! BUT I have to be truthful here on this 'trend' as I'm def not falling hard/splurging on any OVER-SIZED guitar charms anytime soon! Give it time, give it time...guitar charms and accessories might just be the next rock-star chic piece to have! But I have to brand this particular Style Inspired post as a plain ol' copy cat-walk for SURE!

Style Inspired: Heath Ledger from Daughter Matilda Ledger

Heath_ledger_and_matilda_ledger_in_

Ok, so...I...couldn't...resist! Thanksgiving is right around the corner and that always makes me think of FAMILY (love them)! A few days ago, I came across this precious picture of Matilda Ledger, sittin' pretty, on her dad, Heath Ledger's shoulders! It caught my eye becuase: A - she is precious B - is that not a pucker for Shiloh to reckon with and C - her adorable ACCESSORIES! A few days later, Heath was spotted around town in, dare I say, a SIMILARly enticing ensemble! We've posted on Purple Passion before...but this go round, it runs in the family!

************************

Miss Matilda:

1. Cute purple knit cap - "check"

2. Retro shades - "check!"

3. Killer gloves - "check!"

4. Hand-held goody (harmonica) - "check!"

************************

Daddy Heath

1. Cute purple knit cap - "check"

2. Retro shades - "check!"

3. Killer gloves - "check!"

4. Hand-held goody (umbrella) - "check!"

************************

Soooooo, point taken, children don't only take fashion cues from their parents...the little tykes can be quite the trend-setters all on their own! Ahhhh...I really just LOVE this! Too darn cute! I'll start worrying if Heath shows up around town in polka-dot tights, though...but I promise to post the pic! Ha!
