Yep, even I'm a huge fan of a fancy lady-like apron. Please tell me you watch RHOBH? I die when those gals hire in a chef, have everything prepared and put on an apron to green their guests. Ummm, hello...you're not fooling anyone! HILARIOUS! Anyways, back to my post...I love aprons.
I only have two but I always feel like a mini-Martha when I prance around the house donning either of them. I got this adorable version for Christmas (excuse the wrinkles, it was just un-wrapped) and I also have one that a dear friend gave me that says, "Mrs. Cullen" on it. Which, by the way, numerous men in my family have been known to sport while cooking/grilling over the holidays. One word: hilarious!
Do you own an apron? Do you wear it? I agree, it's pseudo Mad Men sprinkled with a bit of June Cleaver thrown in for good measure. But as the holidays are quickly approaching, what better way to preserve that adorable cocktail dress of new cashmere sweater than covering it up with a good apron. Serve those apps and pass out red wine with ease knowing your wardrobe is covered...in an apron. Check out the adorable hand picked aprons that we are totally ga-ga over. All are under $50 so scoop one up and sport your all season long!

The art of layering...such a divine thing! All of these hand picked dresses, none of them breaking the bank either, are perfection for your fall layering fun. Throw last year's chunky knit or bold blazer over them for an easy daytime ensemble. Pair them with this season's choker and thigh high boots for a night out on the town. We love sporting soft layers in lighter hues in the fall. It's unexpected and super chic...notice all the pale colored selections below? That's why! Invest in one of these adorable pieces now and you'll cherish it for seasons to come!

Dress: Forever 21
Bag: Stein Mart (old school green leather goodie)
Sandals: Dillard's
Necklace: Wrapped a longer necklace around twice / Maternal Grandmother's
Earrings: Gold hoops / gift from my parents
I love, love a seasonless maxi dress. Seriously, I wear them year round. I've recently been scooping up a few more because of the ol' baby bump (they are great shape makers for pregnant women) and love what's out there in stores. I always score a great maxi at Forever 21 when I pop in there. But I make sure to try them all on because sometimes they can be a bit short on me. I also find luck at Target and Nordstrom too.
I sported this look on our recent weekend vacation for RWD Hubby's birthday HERE.

And for those of you that love a bump watch...this would've been at about 22 1/2 weeks along. I love that maxis flatter you in places where you want them to and then cover up areas that you're working on hiding. I just love me a maxi. I've been trying to actually don something different during my pregnancy because I'd wear them all day, everyday. This dress was recently purchased from Forever 21 for under $15 (not even on sale) so if you like what you see, pop in and grab it! Or shop our hand picked selection above...so many great dresses!
MMMMM

I just have to give some background on this here supremely comfy summer look. So dressing my bump isn't as easy as it seems. This was my third try on Saturday morning. Seriously, I've never been the kind of girl who stands there and stares at her closet and tries on multiple ensembles before racing out the door. I always just throw it together and go. It's a blessing for sure, but when it comes to dressing, I've always had a really easy time making decisions and not fretting at all.
Well, well...enter a baby bump and I'm like a 15 year old girl, sitting on the floor of her closet, screaming at her Mom that she has noooo clothes! Seriously, I think I tried on two different looks prior to this concoction, both of which Hubby gave the thumbs up on. But you know what, I just didn't feel pretty. So back to the drawing board for a look that can weather the Austin heat and also flatter my figure. Voila, a maxi skirt and crochet tank always does the trick in my book!
Denim Shirt: American Eagle
Crochet Tank: Mossimo from Target
Maxi Skirt: Forever 21
Camel Flip Flops: Kinos from Key West
Gold Locket Necklace: Maternal Grandmother's
Bag: Gustto (gift from Hubby)
Gold Earrings: Gift from my parents
Aviators: Urban Outfitters

And for those of you that love a good bump watch pic, Baby Boy Cullen is growing for sure! And how about that picture perfect lil' pup! Holy bonkers, she cracks me up! Granted, it was her Daddy taking the picture and she always has all eyes on him so it's no wonder she was staring right at the camera, he was behind the lens! I'm feeling really awesome lately and enjoying the joys of my second trimester and all the energy that comes with it.
This pic was snapped on Saturday before I headed out on a fun girlie/preggers day date with my friend Mel from I Heart Photography. We ate a massive breakfast, shopped South Congress in Austin and then hit up Barton Creek Mall too! Our lil' pregger legs were super tired after all that walking. I'm 21 1/2 weeks along in this pic, for those of you that like to keep track of that stuff. And for my non, in the know, readers...that's almost 5 1/2 months of a 10 month pregnancy! Thanks for your support as we embark on such a huge adventure and hope this inspires my bump-tastic readers to dress their bump proudly too!

Tank: Old Navy (under $4)
Skirt: Old Navy (under $7)
Metallic Flip Flops: Antonio Melani at Dillard's
Watch: Michael Kors
Necklace: Tiny Double Hearts - gift from Hubby
Earrings: Swarovski studs - gift from Hubby
Shades: Converse - gift from my Dad
Ok, so obviously my body is going through some, uh hum, changes and with that comes the task of learning to dress my growing bump! This outfit really does make me feel feminine, strong and on-trend. We were recently in the Houston area for a few days and popped into an Old Navy outlet-type store. Let me just say, deals were found. Can you believe this skirt and tank set me back only $10? Yep, a ten dollar ensemble...I'll take it!
A maxi skirt is that great summer piece that every girl should have in her closet. Versatile, functional and wearable to numerous occasions, I love a black version because you can dress it up or down with ease. This particular version is cotton and superbly comfortable! I love pairing maxi skirts with breezy tanks or one of my jeans tops. What do you pair with your maxi skirt? For more ideas, click HERE.
Check out the great maxi skirts and easy summer tank combos I've hand picked below...all under $50! If you don't have this combo in your wardrobe, grab a few pieces today. Seriously, it's that 'perfect on almost every figure' look and you'll be thanking me later because it's also such a comfortable outfit to don too! Enjoy!

Bump watch alert! So we found out yesterday (when this pic was taken) if we're having a boy or girl, so head on over and find out that answer HERE, if you're curious. Also, it looks like I might be a bit farther along than I thought. This was supposed to be at 18 weeks but the Doctor thinks I might be almost 20 weeks. So that might be a half-baked bun right there. He still needs to consult with my primary Doctor before any due dates are moved...but for now, we're happy to report a healthy and growing baby. Enjoy!

Sandals: from Italy (my faves)
White V Neck T: Victoria's Secret
Cuffed Baggy Shorts: American Eagle
Long Gold Locket Necklace: Grandmother's
Short Gold Cross Necklace: Gift from my Parents
Sunglasses: Fossil
Bra: Navy blue...sure, why not
I literally LOVE ankle wrap sandals. This pair hails from Italy and I swear I should've bought them in every color and two pairs of black. They've help up so nicely for all the years of wear/tear they've been through and RWD Hubby always says, 'I told you to get two pairs!' He did, I was looking at a camel and gold pair too...ugh, the regret! But I have hand picked some affordable ankle wrap/cuff sandals below for you to also don such a great summer show style.
Let me just point out that these shorts at my mega baggy, hang around the house shorts. I won't even divulge the actual size they are but I don't even care...they are comfy and cool and I love them. Well, these days, I'm so thankful for these (I also have them in khaki) because they are about the only pairs of bottoms that fit comfortably, ha! I actually love pairing them with tights and boots during the fall/winter months so make sure you have a great pair of cuffed shorts...you'll actually use them all year long, most likely.

And for those of you that love a baby bump update...here's the progress. We're moving along nicely and soon I'll be able to tell you whether or not it's a boy or girl in there! You can see the itty bitty bump poking out at the bottom of my shirt and right above my waistband. Yep, I'll be 17 weeks pregnant this Sunday so it's almost half time/half way baked! Hard to believe! Hugs for your support and love! It's a lot harder to dress a bump than I thought it would be, just fyi!

Summer cardigan: Splendid from Nordstrom
Jersey skirt: BCBG
Metallic sandals: Antonio Melani from Dillard's (love these!)
Necklace: Silver mini double heart from RWD Hubby
Earrings: Swarovski studs from RWD Hubby
Puppy: Not for sale...or wait, possible negotiable if in the six digits, ha!
Ok, seriously...I'm looking super tired in this pic but baby bakin' is hard business people! Hubby took these pics (yay HUBBY) and Zola wanted to be in one too. I love pairing bright solids with stripes. It's so on-trend for summer and a really great way to add a fierce pop of color into your day. I'm always drawn to blues and greens but try to always look at reds and yellows too. I think yellow paired with black/white stripes is one of my favorite color combos. Check out the great striped pieces and bold solids I've found for under $50!
