So...yesterday was World Ocean Day but please, don't worry if you didn't have a chance to do that Beach Cleanup because I have other options for you to celebrate! I love the ocean on so many levels; the smell, the sound of the warm waves crashing on shore, my feet in the sand and the great tan I always come home with. Recently, I've been seeing some gorgeous women step out in frocks and accessories that look so similar to blue hues found in the Ocean; cobalt, electric, topaz and cerulean...choose one, you can't go wrong!
Above, we see Liv Tyler, Michelle Trachtenberg, Frederique van der Wal, Heidi Montag and Alek Wek in different shades of blue. You can make it easy, just like Liv and Michelle did and just choose a dress from my speedy-savvy-stylin' below for your one-stop blue shopping! Or you can emulate Frederique's layering skills, as well! How about Heidi and Alek with their blue hued accessories...is that more your style? I've provided some styling below that can solve your accessory dilemma too!
Take note that the first set of Ocean Hued garments, below, will only set you back $50, or less! The second set is $50-$250, so maybe more of a splurge. But just staring at Kay Unger's New York Sequin Dress with it's OMBRE effect completely reminds me of my former days snorkeling in the Blue Caribbean Sea. I must point out that if Heidi's bright scarf is catching your eye, check out the Vera Blue Desert Windows Scarf below for only $50...it's a near match! Oh, and pair this gorgeous ocean blue with your bright TURQUOISE pieces and you will honestly have to fend off the compliments, I guarantee it!

We have a bit of purple fashion passion here at RunwayDaily! We've mentioned it before...click HERE and sadly, HERE! Though our heart still hurts for Heath, we're here today to show YOU how to incorporate one of the hottest fall colors into your summer ensembles!
Above you see gorgeous gals; Charlize Theron, Victoria Beckham and Christina Aguilera all showing some purple pride. I honestly can't pick my fave look of the three because I see than all as very appropriate for different functions. I love the dramatic and revealing neckline on Charlize, tres chic! And how about the short mini and LADY-LIKE cardigan set on Victoria? Adorable. PS - About that Birkin...insert drool! Lastly, Christina is one hot new momma in her eggplant sweater dress that's CINCHED tightly by that rocker-chic STUDDED belt to show off all her killer curves.
So, want to add a touch of purple to your summer FUN? I do, I do! Just last night I headed to the Giants game with our visiting family and what did I sport...an adorable flutter-sleeve purple T shirt and R.D. Hub gave it the seal of approval for a great color on me! I've added some speedy-savvy-stylin' below to get you going! You might already have a piece in your closet that you haven't rotated in, as of recent! Tomorrow...when you're getting dressed for work, play or a night out on the town...think purple passion and add an element to you look in a lilac, lavender or eggplant hue!

I love me some maxi dresses! I honestly probably own 10 of them...I will admit that my height does make a difference as I tend to love maxi's on taller women...but you KNOW WHAT? Miley Cyrus (5'5"), Carrie Underwood (5'4") and Rachel Bilson (5'3") are all making me a seriously FIRM believer that this look just isn't for glamazons! The right cut can truly flatter all shapes and sizes! Sooooo yes, I kindly revoke my tall girl statement and say this is a dress that EVERYONE should own and flaunt!
We here at RunwayDaily were toying with the idea of making this post fall under the category of RunwayDaily Report is Right On as we told you about this trend WAY BACK in late September (click HERE for the post), but we opted for this category above, instead. I yearn for the warmer weather and when it comes I truly Want/Wish/Wear my maxis all the time!
We think, as Spring is finally here and warm Summer breezes are blowing in, each and every single one of you lady-loves should willingly try to sport a maxi dress this season. There is something so boho-chic and cool about the look. Even if your shopping in your land-locked town wishing for Capri, Bali or the Maldives...sporting this look honestly feels like you've had an out of body experience and you're floating on a yacht in the Caribbean or Mediterranean! Go ahead, give it a try! You'll be the envy of all your friends!
Just like the gorgeous five celebs above did, make sure to pair your Maxi, if it's a FLORAL FIESTA or a bold/loud print with understated accessories. Let the dress do all the talking! It's the easiest and most chic way to run errands and still look put together! You literally only have to throw on cute sandals and your dress (don't forget that) and out the door you go...in STYLE!
Some speedy-savvy-stylin' for you below! All looks are under $250 and are just brilliant! Maxi dresses are popping up everywhere, so be sure to check Target, H&M, Forever 21 and other chain stores. But like I always say, help out the environment and also make sure to check vintage/thrift stores...just think, find a goodie there and you can pretty much be CERTAIN no other lady-love will be spotted in the same dress! Enjoy!

Spring is officially here and I'm seeing all things white. But I must admit...my white denim had some HEAVY rotation even during the colder months (WINTER WHITE). Find yourself a great pair of white denim jeans...and I can assure you, they will be that pair that you pick up, place back in your drawer and say to yourself, 'Nope...just wore them!"
White denim lends itself to a clean, nautical and all around "jet-set" feel. You can wear it casually or dress it up for a night out on the town. Looking at the gorgeous lady-loves who have been spotted in their white hot denim, take some notes. Angelina Jolie, Victoria Beckham, Hilary Duff and Jennifer Lopez ALL paired their white with shades of gray...although Victoria is a bit more shimmery silver. How great does this color combo fare? LOVE it! Nicole went nautical with her blue/white stripes and sneakers...her overall look is "OK" in my book...but I like the 'idea' she's after!
Seriously...my white denim is one of my go-to pieces. I was at a BCBG Event with a close girlfriend, holding a pair of white skinnies in my hand and cringing at the price...she was the 'convincer' and told me to splurge because I wold inevitably wear them a TON! Boy, was she ever right! They've already gotten their money's worth, in my eyes!
So naturally, as I usually do, I've included some speedy-savvy-stylin' below. No excuses to NOT add some white denim to your Spring/Summer ensembles...all pieces are under $150, yet again! And remember...your white denim doesn't have to be in the form of bottoms...check out the jackets I have too! I'm totally in L-O-V-E with the Style&co. Denim Swing Jacket because it's nearly always light jacket weather here in San Francisco! Enjoy!

Christopher Kane and Topshop Unique both showed Collections complete with RunwayDaily's item du jour; pleather/leather leggings! Seriously, they garner some serious attention when I sport them...continual questions, "Where did you get those? They are so hot!" As a result, they've had some serious wardrobe rotation, as of recent!
Are you wondering what I pair them with? Platform black heels, scoop neck black bubble hem dress and a tight black vest. I've also worn them with a big camel-colored sweater and booties. One thing's a must when sporting such a bad-girl look...hold yourself with confidence, wear them with pride and seriously strut your stuff. You'll look irresistibly COOL in these skin-tight goodies, just like the two gorgeous gals below! Go Rihanna and Nicky Hilton...work those pleather gams!

Ahhhhh...I just about screamed when I saw Michael Kors Fall 2008 Runway pictures. So, I have a little something to admit. I have perfect vision, my father is an optometrist and there is NO REASON I need to wear glasses during the day. But I soooo badly wanted to. So I asked him, "Dad, is there anyway we can just put clear glass is some really cool frames, so I can look like a nerd?" He laughed and replied, "Of course, they are called plain-o's!"
So, I sport my plain-o Lacoste glasses with so much nerdy pride! Seriously ladies...even RunwayDaily hub says it brings the S-E-X factor up, another notch! I DO feel beyond sexy, smart and sophisticated when I wear them. It's fun and feels a bit naughty too because I'm sort of 'lying' about needing glasses to passers-by.
My sister did this WAY back in her college years and we used to always rummage through drawers of vintage frames in my Dad's office, when we were just lil' tykes...so glasses have always held a special place in my heart. So, needless to say, and to merely reduce my retrospective rant, invest in some spectacles and release your inner SEXY librarian, pronto!

Recently, I've been seeing a ton of orange popping up on the RunwayDaily fashion radar. Remember, months ago when Jillian from Project Runway sent that gorgeous full skirted frock down the Runway in Episode 1? (Click HERE to jog your memory) That was what truly set my orange passion ablaze!
Above, we have Victoria Beckham, Alicia Keys and Prince. They have all recently stepped out in killer frocks/suits with an OBVIOUS orange 'under' tone! (I kid!) These three looks are NOT subtle and will make a sure-fire statement...but all three have a slightly tanned skin tone which...always...looks ravishing with orange!
Check out the three layouts below...Light, Bright and Dark Orange took a front row seat on a multitude of Fall Runways. Which color are you eyeing? Naturally, I'm drawn toward the Bright shades. I adore that Carolina Herrera skirt. What would I rock it with? Hands down, a sheer white T and leather bomber jacket for sure!

So, I'm feeling nice...I've added some speedy-savvy-stylin' for your shopping ease, below! Orange will be easy to spot on this weekend's shopping excursion, so just keep an eye out! Breeze through the thumbnails below to get your creative/citrus juices flowing and find that 'statement making' orange item, pronto!

Even though crosses are all the rage and I totally enjoy sporting them with EVERYTHING...I wanted to be the first to tell you what I have my eye on next - STARS!!! Are you as "star-struck" as I am? Sure hope so!
Featured above is a collage of close-ups from Yves Saint Laurent's Spring 2008 Runway Show. Stars were ablaze and adorning everything from STRAP-HAPPY sandals, huge STATEMENT NECKLACES, cardigans, CAP SLEEVES and sweet CUFFS!
Stars are easy to find and come in an array of forms! I purchased some gold star drop earrings recently and I bet I've already worn them a half-dozen times...they are gold and seem to go with OH SO MUCH! Stars receieve some serious rotation time in this girl's fab wardrobe!
I've included some speedy-savvy-stylin' below...though this will be SUCH an easy challenge, because I already see stars appearing in the likes of Target and H&M! Go ahead...this Spring/Summer...shoot for the STARS, my loves!

We told you HERE, first! Bright, bold, neon, statement-making patent leather accessories WILL be all the RAGE this spring! Check out the killer bags and kicks, above, from the Spring Collections! Are you drooling yet?
Pair the pieces with subtle shades and they will shine, all on their own. Choose an oversized bright colored clutch and pair it with fall/winter's black and grey...it will STAND out, looking positively ravishing!
Featured below some lady-loves who have already been spotted sporting their 'bright goods' all over town! Yellow seems to be a really HOT color for bags...take note! Featured left to right, below; Penelope Cruz, Mandy Moore, Jenny McCarthy and Cameron Diaz rock their bold hued carry-all's!
I've included some speedy-savvy-stylin' below, though in all honesty...these items will be EASY-BREEZY to find! What do you have your eye on? I just might have to succumb to the pressure and add the Franco Sarto "Chili" Pump in YELLOW!! So hot and so much fun to pair with jeans and white button down (the HUB'S fave from THIS line-up). Be bright, daring and BOLD this spring by adding a statement-making patent piece to your accessory choices! ENJOY!

Gladiator sandals have been ALL OVER the runway as of recent years (featured above). Last year they were undoubtedly celebs "go-to" choice of summer sandal, although they didn't make a huge splash in stores/on shelves!
No worries, this spring I predict the Roman-inspired goodies will be EVV-REE-WHERE! Get your armor on and prepare for battle...a good pair is worth the shopping effort!
Featured below, for added emphasis, are some lady-loves who stepped out in their gladiators in 2007. My fave look has to be those amazingly trendy Olsen sisters (more on them later) and their sky-high versions.
I am actually the PROUD owner of a killer pair of gladiators that DO, indeed, go up to my knees. I've had them for months and wore them quite a bit last summer and fall. I've gotten some stares/looks and then some awesome compliments too! I like to sneak them under LONG maxi dresses and then cross my legs and POW, they really do stand out!
So take this subtle HINT from me now...get going on buying a pair soon and be the FIRST to sport the look. I recently had a close girlfriend shoot me an email and ask me about a pair of strap-happy platforms...lucky for HER, they fit into both CATEGORIES...so this lady-love crossed off two 'must-haves' for spring with ONE purchase! What did she buy, you ask? The Dolce Vita Cancun Buckle Gladiator Sandal featured in my speedy-savvy-stylin' below! They are going to be H-O-T on those approaching warm, Manhattan nights...and evoke feelings of 'painting the town red' like a Green Goddess!

Ahhhhh...Let me introduce you to my newest Spring CRUSH! Reader, meet White Tuxedo Jacket (WTJ)...WTJ, meet reader! Ok, now shake hands! Good, good! Onto our business at hand!
Beyond chic, WTJ are the NEW Black Tuxedo Jacket (BTJ) as of recent fall-rage! I can feel it now...they are destined to be the new 'go to' spring item in every stylish, lady-loves wardrobe! I'd deem it an essential, but I don't think it's quite gotten there yet.
Featured above we have the ever-stylish Blake Lively (RD's previous Muse of the Moment) on the January cover of Lucky in a killer white blazer. Then there's the ever-adorable Mary-Kate in her over-sized tuxedo version. Both ladies look clean, crisp and oh so refreshing in their looks.
Still skeptical? As you can see, below, white jackets were ALL OVER the Spring 2008 Runways...in all forms, shapes and cuts. Your choices are limitless as far as styling goes, so I chose NOT to include any versions for you, this go-round. I felt you were/are always capable of finding a bargain on your own, and this one's going to be a cinch. A sure-fire place for a show-stopping blazer is your local thrift store and don't be afraid to breeze through the men's section to land a SMALL bargain that was originally 'fit' for a King!
Impress your friends for your next all-gal gathering by sporting a white jacket and make sure to pair it with a simple color palette and minimal accessories. Let that white jacket be the only thing, other than YOU naturally, that SHINES oh so bright!
(Designers featured above, upper left and clockwise; Jens Laugsen, Todd Lynn, Anna Molinari, Viktor & Rolf, Chanel, Stærk, Jill Sander, Bruno Pieters)

Connect the dots and what do you get? Polka Dots are NO NEW style for me to tell you about...but I'd love to express my love for all things dotted and show you different inspirational way to wear and bear your dotted looks. Polka Dots were all over the Spring 2008 Runway Shows and also, many a pretty celeb has stepped out in spots, recently. Above, featured left to right; Eva Longoria looking ravishing in small dots and killer RED HOT HEELS, Jessica Simpson looking sophisticated and sweet in her ruffle-front pink blouse, sienna miller paired a CROPPED JACKET with her dotted tank, the impeccably dressed Liv Tyler looks all-the-lady in her yellow dotted, BIBBED-front, SHIRT-DRESS with her waist so simply CINCHED, and last but not least...we'll just ignore Paris Hilton's choice of "shirt" (or lack there of) and focus of her awesome dotted belt and cute RED clutch!
Let's also give you a peek at some of the multitude of designers that included spots/dots in their Spring 2008 Collection. Below, upper left and clockwise; Andrew Gn simply-spotted, Chanel (notice the ankle "purses...click HERE for more on those) was all teeny dots, Sonia Rykiel was supremely lady-like in her dotted interpretation, Valentino had too many to count as half of his Collection was seeing spots, and lastly is Givenchy whose big bold spots were show-stopping.
I've included some spotted-speedy-savvy-stylin' for you below. Some great steals and deals in there, so make sure to breeze through all of them. Seriously, what better way to accentuate your Holiday wardrobe than adding something with fun and festive bright DOTS on it? Get to it...my personal faves; Manoush polka dot shift dress with the killer red stripe, the Geren Ford Sheer Silk Polka-Dot Top is party-ready and the Thakoon TRIBAL Dot Drawstring Dress is just lust-worthy!

Cap sleeve -
A small, short sleeve which sits on the shoulder, either forming a stiff cap or falling on to the arm to provide minimal coverage.
Ahhhh...I love me some capped sleeves! I truly feel like they are the ultimate feminine touch to any frock. They are flirty and fun. They show off a sort of sensuality because, dare I say, back in the days, we women had to keep our appendages hidden! Capped sleeves really do look better on a more slender arm, but layer a body-hugging, long-sleeved T underneath and you should be FINE, too!
Capped sleeves appeared all over the Spring 2008 Runway Shows at Akris, Alexander McQueen, Valentino, Balenciaga, Viktor & Rolf and Karl Lagerfeld, featured above. The NEON at Akris should catch your eye and how about that GUITAR necklace at Viktor & Rolf...recognize that? Check out the pairing of capped sleeves and SHEER pants at Karl Lagerfeld...looks like capped sleeves coordinate well with ANY ensemble.
I've added some speedy-savvy-stylin' below for you. Some precious Holiday frocks in retro prints, sleek satins and jewel-toned hues. Take time to check them all out...sales galore and prices you can't beat! Next party...make it a night-cap(ped)-sleeved, stunner!
