Gold Star Celeb Style - Sheerly Sophisticated Starlets

As mentioned an an earlier post, sheer is here, but not in the form of "shants" (sheer pants) as seen on the Spring 2008 Runways. No, no, no...the sheer I'm speaking of is showing up on PYT's (pretty young things) all over Hollywood. Gorgeous designer frocks with an entire sheer bodice, sheer tunics or stunning sheer sleeves are just a few of the looks that caught my eye. I know, it's starting to be a bit more chilly, but sheer is a great way to have an 'oooh lah lah' moment! Stripping off the chunky pea-coat and gently and subtly showing off some S-K-I-N! Great for holiday parties and soirees...sheer just screams feminine and it's gentle draping quality is oh so coveted. I'll definitely be following suit like this bevy of gorgeous starlets as I have my eyes peeled for a gorgeous sheer necklined frock for winter! You know I'll be back later with some speedy-savvy-stylin' for ya, so be sure to check later!

True Beauty Award: The Many Shades of Agyness Deyn

Agyness Deyn is one of the hottest models right now. I love her for so many reasons...starting with the obvious fact that she is NOT stick-skinny and has a healthy and gorgeous glow. Her spunky hair always ROCKS and her gorgeous eyes are constantly glimmering. She's just captivating to me, on and off the runway. As you can see below, she ALSO wears many hats...both literally and figuratively. As I told you in an earlier post, Deyn is also rumored to be designing a new Topshop Collection...and that, is music, to my sweet ears! Please take a moment and appreciate this model and her innate skill. A sure-fire true beauty while galavanting down the runways in New York, London, Paris, Milan and many more. She earns my True Beauty Award of recent for being a style chameleon and constantly changing her personal look which always inspires! Kudos Miss Agyness Deyn...your many shades create just the right color palatte for me, my love!

A-list Accessory: Big Black Bags

Big black bags are SOOOO the 'it' accessory to have! I love that numerous starlets and MODELS have been spotted toting oversized gorgeous black bags. I mean seriously, you HAVE TO giggle at the Olsen's and the fact that their bags are over half their size...so petite! Alba, Miller and Witherspoon just went classic with an oversized tote. A bevy of models were sighted backstage, as well, carrying their goods from show-to-show in BIG black bags. I'm totally coveting Bette Frank's choice (middle model) and think there is just something about a big black bag that screams GLAMOUR!!! You can pair it with casual attire or a la Alba for a more dressed up look. What do I LOVE about my big black bag, you ask? Seriously, when I fly, every...single...thing...FITS! Laptop, smaller purse, HUGE zip-lock chock full of lip glosses, neck pillow, blanket, etc, etc, etc! I'm tellin' you...it's a wonder I haven't invested in one until recently! It's my life-line! You know I'll have some speedy-savvy-stylin' for you in a bit!

CYEBT - Can You Even Believe This? Chanel Channels Celeb House Arrest Monitoring Bracelets

Ok...I love me some Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld but this just makes me angry, grrrrr! In Chanel's Spring 2008 show in Paris, Lagerfeld chose to add these anklet-pouches to a bevy of models in an array of colors. I can't help but point out their obvious similarity to the frequently talked about monitoring bracelets that graced the ankles of numerous celebs this year. Court ordered to wear, would I ever think this is fashionable? HELLS-TO-THE-NO! I do not, in any way, respect that these three women below HAD to wear these bracelets for reasons of uncontrollable alcohol/drug intake and other reasons. Maybe it's the traditionalist in me, but Karl, come on, be creative in other ways than condoning under-age drinking (a la Lohan) and monitoring bracelets. The rest of Chanel's Collection was captivating and trend-setting beyond belief...but for you Karl, next time, when the idea arises to channel something that stands for breaking the law...I think you should take the higher road and simply..."Just Say No!"

Fashion Week Frenzy: Enlist in the NAVY

Fashion Week Frenzy - a trend reappearing in New York, London, Milan and Paris runway shows.

I love NAVY! It is a color that is sooo under-rated and under-utilized, but has such WOW factor, pizzazz and sex-appeal! It looks sophisticated and simple yet stands out gracefully in a sea of "boring" LBD's (Little Black Dresses...don't make me remind you again). It entices a regal spirit and eludes to riches, unknown. Navy just does it for me, every...single...freakin...time! I have only a few strong pieces in my wardrobe that are navy, but I tell you what, when I DO wear them, this always happens; my eye color pops, I feel strong but also feminine all at once and my posture seems so perfect (like I've truly enlisted). So many navy frocks were seen on the Spring 2008 Runways so I saved you the time of looking through multiple pics and just chose my fave four that EACH incorporate other trends I've recently mentioned to you. Left to right; an amazing trapeze dress with a DAZZLING neckline at La Perla, a SWEATER dress and skinnies combo at Nina Ricci, a ONE-ARMED wonder at Aquascutum and lovely layers paired with a killer STATEMENT necklace at Tuleh.

Some PYT (Pretty Young Things) have also been spotted all over Hollywood and have already enlisted as well. Jersey with Loubs on Mandy Moore, CRISS-CROSS neckline and yes, my LOUBS again on Gwen Stefani, polka-dot parade on Emily Deschanel and lastly a gorgeous sateen number of Marisa Tomei.

It's Friday and I'm feeling awfully sweet, so I've already included some speedy-NAVY-stylin' for ya way below! Ladies, seriously, sport some NAVY in the next few weeks...and you'll also be ready to enlist on a daily basis!

Fringe Benefits: Celebs Already Investing

Looky looky what we have here...some gorgeous starlets recently spotted sporting some flirty fringey frocks. Each and every one of them have a different spin on the recently mentioned trend but all look beyond GLAM doing it. From left to right we have Kate Moss at Fashion Rocks in London sporting THE Swarovski dress that raised over $10,000 for The Prince's Trust. Just some inside info on this amazing piece, there are over 60,000 Swarovski crystal beads and it took over 200 hours to hand-embroider, WOW! Moving on, we have Victoria Beckham at the opening of the Roberto Cavalli flagship store in Paris looking svelte as ever and I'm loving how the fringe is sort of peek-a-booing over the slit...so sexx-ayyy! Next up, the always precious and put-together Amanda Bynes at the Hollywood Film Festival lookin' foot-fringy for sure...no, not her dress, but check out those Loubs, they are the EXACT pair I was coveting in my earlier post! Lucky girl! Last, but not least, the ever fashionable Gwen Stefani rockin a fringed shirt at The Interpreters of Fashion by Style.com. All ladies look just lovely in their take on some stylin' fringe and perhaps give all of us more inspiration to hop on the fringe bandwagon!

Milan and Paris Fashion Week: Unexpected Luxurious Spring Leather

Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks came alive with bright and fun colored leather. Unexpected indeed, as we all think of leather as more of a winter wardrobe, go-to item. Not this year! Leather in the form of shifts, button-down shirts, belted collared dresses and more sauntered down the European runways. Doesn't it nearly look like they're all ready for an Easter Egg Hunt!?!?!? Seriously, you can think grey leather for the fall and winter season...but come spring, you better get ready to galavant around in some fab pastel animal skins...hey, you can go fake or real, I won't ask! You know I'll be back with some speedy-savvy-stylin' for you in a bit!

Paris Fashion Week: Fringe Benefits

Paris Fashion Week was alive with fringe frenzy. Models galavanted down the runways in an assortment of fringed frocks and accessories. Scarves came alive as their tips and ends waved happily throughout numerous shows! Fringe, quite frankly, when covering an entire shift dress, evokes images of the fab 20's flapper era (upper and bottom left in the below runway shots). Fringe, to me, is hard to pull off in this way, a full gown of it, but easy to emulate on the end of scarves, shawls, capes, ponchos and dressing up some really cute high-heels. This, my friends, is a look that will last for a long time and also add a bit of 20's flirtation to even the simplest ensemble. Flap, flap, flap away...some awesome savvy-fringe-stylin' for you below! I'm seriously coveting the Christian Louboutin Fringe Peep-Toe Sandals on page 2! Ahhhh, how freakin' cute are they? Happy fringe hunting!

Fashion Risktaker: MC Hammer Pants

New York and Paris Fashion Week designers were just "too legit to quit" as far as forgetting MC Hammer goes. (Admit it, you're now humming: 'too legit, too legit to quit, hey hey!' If you're doing the hand motions too, laugh at yourself now!) Back to the post, hammer pants were spotted on the Spring 2008 Runways and I'm getting nervous and praying fervently that these do NOT come back! I'm just not a fan even though I begged with every ounce of my body to have a pair when I was younger. I've added some great pics to show you JUST HOW FAMOUS Hammer was...I mean, cover of Rolling Stone, his own Mattell Doll and a Simplicity pattern...he def had it goin' on! The looks on the runway were much more subdued than Mr. Hammer himself...they're basically a combo between skinny pants and wide-legged pants. All I have to say on this, if hammer pants are back in the style circuit soon, I have four words..."You can't touch this!"

Fashion Week Frenzy: Opulent Ombre

Fashion Week Frenzy - a trend reappearing in New York, London, Milan and Paris runway shows.

Ombre - a technique of dyeing from light to dark...it's been around for a long time and is practically tie-dye's closest cousin! Numerous runways were ALIVE with ombre fabrics for spring. They have such a FUN and care-free feel to them, don't they? Diane Von Furstenberg and Matthew Williamson showed numerous ombre frocks and this gorgeous starlet was recently seen gallavanting around town in one! Ombre looks more high-fashion than tie-dye and is a much, much more rigorous process whose total cost depends on labour, desired colour, number of transitions and general difficulty of the job. Hence why we ALWAYS used to tie-dye our shirts at summer camp and never ombre them! I've included some magnificent savvy-ombre-stylin' for you below! The Prada bag is just lust-worthy and appears in all their newest ad campaigns but I'm also really diggin' the racerback tank from Urban Outfitters! Again, ombre frocks gallavanted down the runways in New York, London, Milan and Paris...what more reason do you need to invest in a piece, pronto? Happy ombre hunting!

Runway to Reality: Michael Kors - Fall 2007

So naturally, I love to watch and scour through photos of Runway Shows...but many times the looks are unattainable or quite frankly, don't cross-over well at all to everyday life. I'm here to show you looks that work GREAT in your everyday wardrobe, at WAY WAY WAY better prices!

Anja Rubik worked the Kors Fall 2007 Runway in a classic blend of colors and fabrics. Pairing GREY and RED with a bell sleeved khaki jacket, slouchy grey gloves, a killer over-sized clutch, big bold jakie o's and some leg-lengthening killer gold heels. To transition this look into much cooler weather, throw a pair of opaque grey or black tights on and VOILA...you're stylin' like an everyday Kors gal! Make sure to check all three pages of my speedy-savvy-stylin' below!

Kors Total = $1,000's and $1,000's

RunwayDaily total = $452.49

(I'm sure you can shop some serious sales and do even better!)

Paris Fashion Week: Fantasy Shopping Sweepstakes

Paris Fashion Week was ALIVE with bright colors, cool fabrics, lust-worthy draping and eye-catching silhouettes. I have WON again and "given" myself, yet another chance to FANTASY SHOP! I've chosen my personal faves from all the looks at every show in Paris and put together a 15 piece superb collection that I deem, uh hummm...drool-worthy! I usually only provide you with 4 looks, but it's Friday, I was feeling generous...so VOILA, here's 8 of the 15 up front! I've chosen everything from a JUMPSUIT to birght SOCKS to a B&WD with a bit of NEON to some PURPLE PASSION to a leather covered YELLOW MAXI-DRESS to some seriously sexy minis (always). I have to say one of my fave pair of shoes that sauntered down during ALL the Spring Runways appeared at Balenciaga in Paris (below, bottom row, second from left) and were platform gladiator sandals in a fun array of different colors, loved them! This is a true feast for your eyes, enjoy!

Real-Life Runway: Thandie Newton

I love me some THANDIE!!! Ahhhh, she's absolutely one of the most stylish actresses today who always exudes beauty and is the first to try out a new trend...classily (yes, I just made that up) and lady-like, for certain! Seen below at a private viewing for Matthew Williamson, celebrating his 10 years as a designer...she's OBVS a Matthew FAN! She worked his gradient/tie-died frock, featured in his Spring 2008 Collection...just look at those shoulders! I have to say I much prefer Thandie's Givenchy heels to Sheila Marquez's yellow-lace-up booties...but those booties would ROCK paired with skinnies and a SWEATER DRESS, right? Real-Life or Runway...hmmmm? Yeah, right! Easy one! Hands-down...Thandie is keepin' it REAL for sure!

New York, London, Milan and Paris Fashion Week: Target Practice? Hit the Bullseye!

Designers in New York, London, Milan and Paris must have been hunting recently and gotten some obvious creative inspiration! Each city had at least ONE designer that showcased pieces with, for lack of a better term, a bullseye visually apparent on the front of a frock, or two. Some looks are just whacky, click the jump to see those...while others are a really great compliment and super fun (below). Not sure how I feel about this look, in general for everyday, as I surely don't know ANY woman who wants to appear more 'round'...but if you glued a plastic arrow on the front of L.A.M.B.'s version (below, upper right) you'd have yourself one heck of a saucy Halloween costume...sexy over-the-knee SOCKS, def included!!

Fab Winter Fash: Kate Moss Topshop Christmas Collection

For many reasons, I just adore that it's called Christmas Collection and NOT Holiday...just makes me even MORE excited for that special time of year! Ahhh, when you always need a few NEW fun dresses for all the cocktail parties and family gatherings! Not to worry, a sneak peek is RIGHT HERE of Kate's new Collection! Moss rocked some serious Topshop buyers with her past Collections...but this one is exquisite on so many more levels (if at all possible). On the behind-the-scenes glimpse, the line is described as an: "Eclectic capsule collection of effortlessly cool, signature pieces, inspired by Kate's wardrobe." Ok, so I KNOW we've all loved us one, or maybe two, Kate looks over the years (I kid, I kid...for me = MILLIONS) so you just go ahead and bet big money this next Collection is gonna knock our new SOCKS right off, wink wink!

Make sure to check out what Topshop offers in the present Kate Moss line on sale now...I'm totally LOVING this Swirl Beaded Jersey Top and Tweed Waistcoat...tres chic, as always, Miss Kate!

Speedy-Savvy-Stylin': "Socks" in the City

Soooooo, I must admit, I was going to leave this stylin' up to you...but socks just are NOT staying put on the Spring Runways/movie-sets like I mentioned before...they are showing up EVERYWHERE and I had to fill you in, pronto! Some famous starlets have stepped out in their own 'personal' sock-complimented style (both good and BAD, obvs) but we have to always give props to those that 'take a chance with fashion' and give even bigger kudos to those who actually wear garments this go round...uh hummm, wait, scuse me, YES I did just say that!!! Ok, back to the post...

Socky ladies pictured below, left to right; Rihanna is my fave of this bunch of gals as she's wearing killer stirrup-socks (I want, I want) with some hot Loubs and a cruisey ensemble; Jessica Alba went daring in her nude socks-over tights-under MJ's but girl is gorgeous, so I'll let it go; Britney Spears rocked the stripes earlier this year that might have been the BOLD inspiration for Vivienne Westwood's same look on the Spring Runway; Lindsay Lohan looks chic and put-together in all black; Kirsten Dunst pairs some eye-catching sheer whites with classic OXFORD shoes and some comfy coordinates and lastly Molly Sims went knee-high showing off her gorgeous stems and killer frock!

So, I can't make it any easier than this...socks aren't expensive, nearly EVERY store sells them...wear them peeking out of knee-high FLAT BOOTS or pair them with some killer heels and mini-dress! A majority of my FAB FINDS below are from Urban Outfitters...get there and get sockin'!

Savvy Sweetheart Stylin' for Ya!

Get ready to be SWEETENED UP! Sweetheart necklines were all over the Paris Runways and I've got some great ideas to emulate the same look both for everyday and for a special occasion. Recently some celeb-lady-loves stepped out in the bosom enhancing neckline and looked RAVISHING indeed. Below, upper left and clocwise; Christina Ricci went classic in body-hugging white and a deep-V cut; Eva Mendes sparkled in a full skirt and belted metallic number, Monique Lhullier (YAY for a gorgeous designer) looked breathtaking in a self-designed chic B&WD (Little Black and White Dress), Scarlett Johansson stopped traffic with her black simplicty and bold blue accents, Rihanna rocked the house down at TRL with her perfect high-waisted pants and NEON rimmed corset top and lastly Ellen Pompeo glimmered in her gold ruched frock that showed off her amazing figure for sure! Check some of the cheap deals and serious steals I've found for you below...how sassy is the Sass & Bide cross-over corset? And like every other woman, I'm lusting over the Dolce & Gabbana corseted black sheer sleeved dress (on page 4)...it's just tres chic on so many levels. Come on now, release your inner sweetheart and indulge!

(role)Model Style

Seriously...I love me some model style! They...just...know...how...to...dress! As Paris Fashion Week has come to a close, I've had the chance to cruise through some serious backstage photos and have chosen these gazelles for their true-blue personal sense of style! All eight models just ooze trendsetting chic and honestly, we can learn a LOT by just gazing at their casual ensembles. They also set perfect examples of the numerous trends I've recently posted about, so be sure to click the jumps to jog your memory. Take notes...these ladies KNOW what they are doing for SURE!

Below - upper left and clockwise:

Agyness Deyn at Marc by Marc Jacobs wearing a killer pair of NEON-striped socks, OXFORD doc martens, long trench and t-shirt dress

Bette Franke at Narcisco Rodriguez in a gorgeous animal print YELLOW frock with a classic nude bag and black ballet flats

Georgia Frost at Peter Som sporting a killer PURPLE JUMPSUIT that I just LOVE with a great leather skinny belt and what better than FLAT BOOTS to trek from show to show

Jenny Strahl at Giorgio Armani looking oh so chic and casual in her BIBBED shirt and comfy leggins

Anne Watanabe at Peter Som gets the GOLD STAR from me out of this bunch because she is MIXING PRINTS so efforlessly and looking just gorg adding a leather corset belt

Alison Nix at Erin Fetherston just screams cute, her VEST and SHIRTDRESS are 'bottomed-off' by some awesome lace-up FLAT BOOTS, sassy ridin-style

Erin Wasson at Proenza Schouler showed some serious skin and BRASSIERE, the cut-off's are cute but maybe not my taste of ensemble

Behati Prinsloo at Thakoon sporting a awesome sweater VEST and some eye-catching STATEMENT NECKLACES
