Muse of the Moment: Emma Watson

Muse -

1. A guiding spirit

2. A source of inspiration

3. Any goddess presiding over a particular art

Muse_of_the_moment_emma_watson

Our former RunwayDaily Muses have ranged from Blake Lively to Sarah Michelle Gellar...both are supremely perfect to check out for party-frock inspiration! Today's Muse, is by far, the youngest!!! All three perfectly portray the essence of a lady...but Emma Watson (better known as Hermione in the five Harry Potter installments) is elegantly budding into a perfectly-poised, Chanel-sporting beauty! She is P-R-E-C-I-O-U-S!

The 17-year old cutie has recently been rumored to be the new 'face' of Chanel, but for now...we are, indeed, perfectly happy just seeing her galavant around at red-carpet events in pint-sized couture accouterment via Karl Lagerfeld's whimsical ingenuity.

Taking a peek at the above collage, you will see that Emma Watson can surely hold her own on the red-carpet fashion circuit. Eight of the ten looks are definitely Chanel. How captivating and ravishing does she truly look? Though she's 'all lady' in the knee length party frocks, I also really like her in the two skinny-jean ensembles...a rocker-chic side of Emma works well.

In a time where the Spears sisters are getting so much attention for all that they do WRONG...I'd love to shine some light on a young woman/actress who seems to do so much RIGHT in our eyes and has fashion sense that projects timeless class and precedes her young age! Golf claps to Emma!

Runway to Reality: Badgley Mischka - Fall 2007

So naturally, I love to watch and scour through photos of Runway Shows...but many times the looks are unattainable or quite frankly, don't cross-over well into everyday life. I'm here to show you looks that work GREAT in your everyday wardrobe at WAY WAY WAAAAY better prices!

Badgley Mischka is one of my fave design duos EVA! Mark Badgley and James Mischka released their Fall 2007 Collection with an obvious, non "red-carpet" exposure, in mind. Easy, sophisticated, casual elegance sauntered down their Runway with each look more captivating than the former. In true Badgley Mischka form...the ending was a bevy of gorgeous evening gowns...but we'll DEF save those for some upcoming New Years Eve(ning) Gown posts!

Here we have three looks below. All three play with grey and black hues with the addition of camel and light yellow. Gilded accents take the looks up a notch and the equestrian feel of the riding boots is so CHIC right now. Comfort and style...what more does a girl need? The sleek, long, leather gloves are something to 'take notice' of...they are 100% on my Christmas list this year! And how about that STATEMENT NECKLACE? It appears in two of three looks as I've added it to the camel turtleneck/jumper ensemble...but DO take notice, my dears! Layer your statement/chunky necklace OVER your turtleneck for added POP! All three ensembles are perfect for your upcoming Christmas Brunch, last minute/intense shopping trip OR a Holiday stroll with your loved one to look at CHRISTMAS LIGHTS! Don't forget the eggnog...spiked, especially for me!

Badgley Mischka Total = $1,000's and $1,000's

RunwayDaily Total = After each look below!!!

Badgley_mischka_fall_2007_look2

RunwayDaily Total (Comfy Sophisticate in Mellow Yellow Cardigan) = $212.81

Badgley_mischka_fall_2007_look3

RunwayDaily Total (Cosmopolitan Equestrian) = $294.14

Badgley_mischka_fall_2007_look1

RunwayDaily Total ("Old" Hollywood Ease) = $535.47

Personal Style: "Stylishly Sport Christmas Colors" - à la Ashley Olsen

"Create your own visual style... let it be unique for yourself and yet identifiable for others." - Orson Welles

Ashley_olsen_in_green_scarf_and_red

Our second post to the newest category, Personal Style! Ashley Olsen is always making waves with her killer wardrobe and obsession to be the 'first' to sport a trend. Christmas is nearly here and RED & GREEN is inundated all our lives!! I'm not sick of it, yet...especially after spotting this killer look. Our fave fashionista, Ashley Olsen, pairs hues of the Holiday colors so elegantly...putting a trendy spin on the classic RED & GREEN! I love the lime coloring in the scarf and awesome T-strap, ruby-RED HOT heels. Black leggings should already be a staple in your wardrobe and the blue blazer/grey knit combo just takes the look to A-list levels! I've added some funky accessories, including the Red Wayfarers from Ray Ban! One thing's for sure, when sporting this look...the only thing that will be looking back on New Years Eve are all the heads turning, to look at YOU!

You can click on the collage and promptly be directed right to Polyvore.com to learn more about each item in the Ashley Olsen inspired Christimas look OR to start creating your OWN ensembles!

Real-Life Runway: Diane Kruger in J. Mendel and Burberry Prorsum

Reallife_runway_diane_kruger_in_j_2

What better early Christmas present than these two looks, above? I love love love all things Diane Kruger...and J. Mendel and Burberry Prorsum released two of my FAVE Runway Collections for Spring 2008...not to mention, orange and grey are two seriously FAB colors to sport!

The first look, above, is a gorgeous orange OFF THE SHOULDER look from J. Mendel's Spring Collection. It cinches Diane's teeny waist perfectly! I love her accessory pairings as well; a wide, gold bangle and some statement drop-shaped earrings to accentuate her neckline. Also, take note, Diane chose to wear her hair UP which shows off the off-the-shoulder style in a whole new light! Liya Kebede also 'worked' the look for J. Mendel's Spring show but this winner is obvious...GO DIANE!!!

The second look, above, is a short-and-sassy grey mini from Burberry Prorsum's Spring 2008 Collection. Diane wore her hair up and paired to look with subtle accessories and killer Louboutin mary-jane heels. Freja Beha Erichsen seriously 'worked' the same grey mini in Burberry's Spring show and mouths dropped. Her tiny frame and long legs were a perfect match for this cut. Burberry's pairing of SOCKS and sandals was unexpected (we've told you before, click the SOCKS link to learn more)...and the look is boosted to a rocker-chic feel with the addition of 'Terminator'-like eyewear! This one goes to Freja Beha Erichsen workin' the Runway at Burberry...Diane IS a close second, though!

Merry Christmas, early, to YOU! I've included some killer speedy-savvy-stylin' for you, below!!! These are HOT colors for fall/spring so maybe an orange or grey flirty frock will make it on your party-rotation-ensemble LIST soon! Make sure to breeze through BOTH, but just to give you a heads up...all the GREY GOWNS below are under $150!!! I love you, too!

Connect the dots and what do you get? Above, featured left to right; Eva Longoria looking ravishing in small dots and killer RED HOT HEELS, Jessica Simpson looking sophisticated and sweet in her ruffle-front pink blouse, sienna miller paired a CROPPED JACKET with her dotted tank, the impeccably dressed Liv Tyler looks all-the-lady in her yellow dotted, BIBBED-front, SHIRT-DRESS with her waist so simply CINCHED, and last but not least...we'll just ignore Paris Hilton's choice of "shirt" (or lack there of) and focus of her awesome dotted belt and cute RED clutch!

Let's also give you a peek at some of the multitude of designers that included spots/dots in their Spring 2008 Collection. Below, upper left and clockwise; Andrew Gn simply-spotted, Chanel (notice the ankle "purses...click HERE for more on those) was all teeny dots, Sonia Rykiel was supremely lady-like in her dotted interpretation, Valentino had too many to count as half of his Collection was seeing spots, and lastly is Givenchy whose big bold spots were show-stopping.

Watch4Her: Ashlee Register on ABC's DUEL - Airing TONIGHT!

Duel_ashlee_register

Soooo, I have some exciting news to share...DUEL is a new game shown on ABC, at 8/7 central, airing TONIGHT! Yeah, yeah...I know, I know...a new show...but this one is VERY special! It has nothing to do with fashion (except the contestant I'm highlighting is a pretty fashionable lady) and it has nothing to do with modeling (but she's 6' tall). Oh yes, you guess it...I personally know one of the contestants!!! It's my gorgeous cousin, Ashlee Register. Even though I'm family...none of us know how well she played or if she WON the $1,000,000! We are so excited to support her and I just HAD to pass the info along.

This time of year, as all of our fave show finales are pretty much OVER and the writer's strike even allowed some finales to never even be aired (boo!)...'what to watch' might be a BIG question in your household! As you're in a post-dinner/tv-induced coma and flipping through the channels...sit your pretty booty on the couch tonight and check out DUEL!! I'd even go as far as to ask you to SCREAM, "Go Ashlee" for me!! She's gorgeous, destined for Hollywood...just an amazing woman! Seriously...all fingers crossed, this is one 'chick' that deserves only the BEST and has worked so hard for all she has! Check out her bio, below, via ABC.com:

Ashlee Register / Age:28 / Occupation: RN - Cardiology / Hometown: Port St. Lucie, FL

Ashlee and her husband, Jeff, spent their recent honeymoon in the Bahamas with an unexpected guest -- Tropical Storm Noel. What was supposed to be a weekend of fun and sun ended up a nightmare. They were shut in their hotel room and did not see any sunlight until the morning of their flight home.

Ashlee and her husband do not have any children but they do have three "kids" -- a trio of Labrador retrievers. Ashlee says this family came together in a very "Brady Bunch" fashion. She had a chocolate and yellow lab and Jeff had a black lab. She says his love of dogs was one of the initial reasons why she began dating him.

In 3rd grade, Ashlee's house nearly caught on fire. Thankfully, the fire was put out without too much damage to the house and backyard. Ashlee will never forget this day because the random fire served as an introduction to her best friend, Sarah, who lived around the corner.

(role)Model Style: Natalia Vodianova, Freja Beha Erichsen, Flavia De Oliveira, Lilly Cole, Maggie Rizer, Hana Soukupova, Agyness Deyn and Jacquetta Wheeler

Rolemodelstyle

More models, models, models for you today! Must be your lucky day, eh? First some stellar inspiration from our muse of the moment: Sarah Michelle Gellar and now our gorgeous gazelles are in the limelight, once again. A bevy of fashionistas for your viewing pleasure. Let me just take a moment and point out WHY I adore each lady-loves personal fashion choices:

Natalia Vodianova - Besides the fact that she's more adorable that ever AND that she has two lil' tykes...this model-momma has such a killer look. She's spotted here sporting a simple jeans but the addition of a STRIPED, CROPPED jacket takes the look up a notch.

Freja Beha Erichsen - Rock-n-Roll chic is all the rage and my girl, Freja, has got it down, pat. Leather pants, comfy kicks, GREY hoodie and T with an unexpected brown shoulder bag...love it!

Flavia De Oliveira - So androgenous it hurts...so...good! Yes, menswear is nothing new but Flavia just takes it to another level. A mixture of 'menswear' and 'waking up/throwing on your partners clothing' is what I'm seeing here...but I'm really digging the whole look! The LONG SCARF, tuxedo cut jacket and shirt-dress look so inviting and natural paried with the comfort of FLAT BOOTS.

Lilly Cole - Such a darling, Lily. Her FULL SKIRT and long VEST should already be staples in your wardrobe. Black tights and flats keep the look from being 'overly trendy' and paired with a classic RED bag that plays off those gorgeous locks, all I can say is...tres chic, Miss Lily.

Maggie Rizer - I...used...to...LOVE...Maggie! I mean, I still do, but seriously, she was my super-model HERO! Rizer shows us that SHEER is here in her skin-toned layers. I love how you'd expect a pariring of gold accessories...but her silver cuff POPS against her skin. Not to mention her red nails that perfectly compliment those killer RED kicks!

Hana Soukupova - In my mind, one of the most stunning models ever! Her killer orange mini (which I'm thinkin' is that lust-worthy Chloe number), dazzling stunner of a STATEMENT NECKLACE and subdued accessories allow this gazelles gorgeous tanned skin and long legs to shine bright! This is a great look to emulate for a Holiday Party (add opaque tights for warmth).

Agyness Deyn - No (role)Model Style would be complete without Agyness! I have to diligently choose which LOOK to always add for her...she has SO many! One of the most fashionable women I've ever laid eyes on, for sure, nothing ever seems too daring for Agyness to try. 99% of the time, she honestly pulls it off, with flying colors. And colorful, she IS! Her red knee-high SOCKS and FLAT BOOTS are attention grabbing. Not to mention her killer cropped leather bomber and t-shirt dress. Oh Agyness, you make everything look so much FUN!

Jacquetta Wheeler - Always a classic, Jacquetta recently stepped out in a tight mini-dress in natural colors and topped it off with a brown bomber (I favor her jacket, over Agyness's, for the color and cut) to create a more casual ensemble. Notice her two necklaces too...one long charm + one short locket = easiest accessory idea to emulate! I'm lovin' opaque tights on anyone, so she earns cool points for that...plus her platform pumps and cute clutch are oh so user friendly!

Project Runway: RD Gold Medal Awards for Episode 5 - Christian, Kevin and Kit

I'm honestly OBSESSED with Project Runway. I love it, try not to miss it every Wednesday and I'm also not afraid to spend an ENTIRE weekend watching the marathons...pathetic, I know.

Episode 5 aired last night and seriously, I'll give it an OK! I was sad to see one of the designers leave (due to medical reasons) but HAPPY to see the return of another one that had already been given the 'boot.' The hub and I hunkered down for an hour of entertaining TV once again, and as RICKY started to CRY again, RD hubby promptly said, "Well, I guess it wouldn't be a show without Ricky crying again!"

The mission, for this episode, was to take an previous FAVE ensemble of a previously over-weight woman and create a NEW LOOK from the same fabric. The models featured are the ACTUAL women who have lost amazing amounts of poundage...it was pretty impressive (it actually felt like I was watching The Biggest Loser for a few moments). My Gold Medal Awards have been handed out and Christian, Kevin and Kit find themselves leading the pack. Kevin's look was sooooo ravishing coming down the runway and you could tell his model just 'felt' gorgeous! I love how Kit used the pop of orange and paired it with black and it DID NoT look Halloween-ey. Christian's look just ROCKED, once again, and he, as always stated on the show that his look was nothing shy of "FIERCE!"

The speedy-savvy-stylin' for Project Runway looks will never be dead-on as I love to add killer accessories, trendy spins and fresh handbags. I would totally sport my speedy-savvy-stylin' of Kit's look to ANY Holiday Soiree and feel absolutely elegant and oh so chic! L-O-V-E it!

Wanting/Wishing/Wearing: Capped Sleeves

Capped_sleeves_on_the_runway_valent

Click Collage to See the Big PICTURE!

Cap sleeve -

A small, short sleeve which sits on the shoulder, either forming a stiff cap or falling on to the arm to provide minimal coverage.

Ahhhh...I love me some capped sleeves! I truly feel like they are the ultimate feminine touch to any frock. They are flirty and fun. They show off a sort of sensuality because, dare I say, back in the days, we women had to keep our appendages hidden! Capped sleeves really do look better on a more slender arm, but layer a body-hugging, long-sleeved T underneath and you should be FINE, too!

Capped sleeves appeared all over the Spring 2008 Runway Shows at Akris, Alexander McQueen, Valentino, Balenciaga, Viktor & Rolf and Karl Lagerfeld, featured above. The NEON at Akris should catch your eye and how about that GUITAR necklace at Viktor & Rolf...recognize that? Check out the pairing of capped sleeves and SHEER pants at Karl Lagerfeld...looks like capped sleeves coordinate well with ANY ensemble.

I've added some speedy-savvy-stylin' below for you. Some precious Holiday frocks in retro prints, sleek satins and jewel-toned hues. Take time to check them all out...sales galore and prices you can't beat! Next party...make it a night-cap(ped)-sleeved, stunner!

Muse of the Moment: Sarah Michelle Gellar

Muse -

1. A guiding spirit

2. A source of inspiration

3. Any goddess presiding over a particular art

Muse_of_the_moment_sarah_michelle_g

There is something so intoxicatingly REAL about Sarah Michelle Gellar. Maybe it's the fact that she relatively stays out of the limelight and seems to have a rather successful 'hollywood' marriage to Freddie Prinze Jr. But what truly garners our attention is the way in which Sarah Michelle Gellar steals the show, each and every time, she makes an appearance. It doesn't even matter if this gal is shopping...she ALWAYS looks good doing it.

Her style, supremely lady-like, is something other starlets strive to emulate but widely miss. To me, she's the difference between what my mother used to describe to me as 'new' and 'old' money...Gellar falling into the latter category...always carrying herself with class and elegance.

Her wardrobe, highlighted above, is a flurry of blacks, greys, tans and neutrals on many days...but I just had to throw in some STUNNING colorful choices she's also worn so well. You see, she's stepped out in a killer NAVY mini, a CRISS-CROSS white stunner, a BUBBLE-hemmed grey goodie, some flirty RED kicks and numerous waistlines CINCHED to perfection. At this time of year, as we all scramble to find the flirty frock that will make us stand out in a sea of LBD's...take a cue from stunning Sarah Michelle Gellar. Notice her dichotomous look; a subdued palette mixed with vibrant, dazzling accessories OR a striking frock or ensemble paired with simple staples. These two combos always let forth the radiance of her beauty shine bright! Isn't this truly what we're all after?

Fashion Risktaker: No Pants! Leave Your Pants at Home - à la Kate Moss, Sienna Miller and Victoria Beckham

Pants, who needs pants? I don't need no stinkin' PANTS! Ok, this is just fuh-reakin-huh-larious...to me! Kate Moss, WAAAAAAAY back in the days, sported a near, no-pants look that turned many a head! Sienna Miller shocked us all last year by stepping out in her skivvies! Oh wait, maybe it was one two many of those 'concoctions' in her pretty little hand? Then, my girl, Victoria Beckham caused a serious stir showing off her stems in a whole NEW way! Does this look, in your book, count as Mrs. Beckham's third strike on our fashion faux pas radar? And, last...but not least, Kate Moss took it to the streets, again, baring all those legs, sans COVERING except as ghastly black/white coat! Pray to the fashion Gods now...I like to keep my panties hidden like a good girl!

First Look: Pre-Fall 2008 - Bell Sleeves, Bows, Florals, Full Skirts, Neon and Tweeds

Click Collage to See the Big PICTURE!

Valentino, Zac Posen, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Dolce & Gabbana and Chanel all showed their Pre-Fall Collections, as of recent. So, naturally, I'm here to give you a sneak-peek and tell you what WILL BE IN, come next fall! Check out some of the highlights above! Stunning for sure! Each designer's total Collection showcased a definite classic trend that they are known for. We've already told you about FLORALS and NEON in earlier posts that Oscar de la Renta and Dolce & Gabbana highlighted this Pre-Fall. Looks like these two are official, so please take a hint and get your hands on a precious neon or bright floral piece, VERY soon!

On another note, I love the BELL-SLEEVED goodies at Valentino, and Zac Posen's BOWS were in-line with his typical lady-like silhouettes. The sophisticated FULL-SKIRTED looks at Carolina Herrera are nothing new, per se, but are about to be your NEXT BEST FRIEND so start 'collecting' those now (they hide everything). And Chanel, putting a whimsical spin on their classic TWEED, really stole the show!

COPY-CAT(walk): Chanel's Cap-Toed Shoes

Chanel_cap_toed_shoes_on_the_runway

There's NO denying it...they've been around for a long while and they are HERE to stay, forever! Chanel's cap-toed kicks are SUPREMELY stylish and you need to get your hands on a pair (or a version) ASAP! As you can see, way below, via my speedy-savvy-stylin', your choices are far from minimal and the different ways you can pair your "cappies" just never ends. Celebs have been spotted everywhere sporting the coveted Chanel goody-goody two-shoes, seen below!!

I love the ultimate femme version; the classic ballet flat BUT I'm totally enjoying the killer knee-high boot/bootie versions as well (above). I just have to point out to you again that Chanel released their pre-Fall 2008 Collection and lay-dees, the cap-toed version was...none other than...a low-heeled OXFORD!!! Check it out above, upper right! One things certain, this look is classic, sleek and oh so appropriately paired with the über popular menswear inspired looks! What do ya say, CAP(tain)? Get your hands on some cap-toed kicks, pronto!

Personal Style: "Shop 'til you Drop" - à la Rachel Bilson

"Create your own visual style... let it be unique for yourself and yet identifiable for others." - Orson Welles

New category ALERT!

Personal Style, our newest addition, is HERE, my loves!

And boy do I have a serious treat for you, 'tis the season! So what do we have above? The ever-precious and oh-so stylish Rachel Bilson doin' what she does best = lookin' good! As shopping season is upon us, hot and heavy, I figured I'd dedicate this first Personal Style post to something casual and FUN and very comfortable. I've taken the basics of Bilson's ensemble but then also added some FUN accessories and 'must-haves' to it too (aka - cute, Christmas socks, killer arrow earrings and a pen/paper to cross those gifts off your list)! You can click on the collage and promptly be directed right to Polyvore.com to learn more about each item in the look and to start creating your OWN ensembles as well!
