Will You Take It to the Max?

Spring Runways were pretty much yelling "Maxi, maxi, maxi!" What is maxi, dare you ask? (No, not a pad, ewww!) Maxi is maximum style, maximum confidence, maximum dress...it's the length you want to spring for each and every season. Whether jet-setting, lounging, layering for cooler days or a date-night with lots of 'food' (they are forgiving), a maxi dress should be present in every stylish-woman's closet! They can easily transition through each season, with superb layering ability, they are high impact in a subtle and overtly feminine way. Pair them with vintage boots, strappy sandals or even sans shoes (a bit boho-chic if you ask me). One thing's certain, Maxi Magic is on the rise!

Spring Necklines - Be-Dazzlin' Dahhhling!

All right, ready to make a statement with some SERIOUS glam and glitz! Check out this array of necklines on the Spring Runways. Wow, right? Some are enchantingly simple while others are pure show-stoppers. Dazzling necklines have long been a sure-fire way for every woman to draw attention towards, well duh, her neck (and face) but I've never seen this many in one season, and I'm sure I didn't even get them all. Be hypnotic and razzle-dazzle away! Also remember if a dazzling neckline can't be found, ALWAYS opt for a statement necklace...it'll do the job just fine. Click the jump for more Runway pics, they are amazing! Check back later and I'll have some Dazzlin'-Savvy-Stylin' for you...

No Mellow Yellow Here!

If you hopped on the trendy yellow paddy-wagon that has been present for many seasons, well good news for you...it's going no where anytime soon! The Spring Runways preserved the color for yet another magnificent season but added a surprising twist...it was BRIGHT and not mellow in the least. Neon shades made quite an appearance, soooo start to stock up on any fun-finds in that color, pronto! They create a rocker-chic/rebel feel and will be great conversation pieces to boot. In the form of a great bright belt, ruffled blouse, stylish mini, big-button trench, evening gown or cropped pants...YELLOW is yelling, 'I'm here to stay ladies!' You just can't go wrong with this one...happy hunting for your BRIGHT yellow finds!

Join the White Pants Parade!

WHITE PANTS...a staple in every woman's wardrobe, but so commonly under-utilized or accentuated! Not this year gals! They were front and center on every Spring Runway and couldn't be ignored as another 'staple.' They truly became 'that piece' that made the fashion combos really 'pop!' High-waisted or cropped, tailored with a jacket, long and flowing or skinny-minnie style...you seriously can't go wrong! Clean and crisp and ohhhh soooo Jackie O and Audrey...white pants were EVERYWHERE! Thankfully, they are an easy look to emulate, so about that parade...are you ready to jump in and join? I'm sold! Rotate them into your casual or professional attire and you are DEFINITELY destined to turn some heads!

Marc Jacobs - sooo NOT worth the wait!

Dearest Marc, Marc, Marc,

We had so much adoration, admiration, complete LOVE for you as a designer...

We also believe in being fashionably late, like you do, but COME ON...

2-to-3 hours later (depending on whom you're talking to) you FINALLY start the show!!!

AND...THESE...ARE...THE...PIECES!!!!

We all know that opinions are merely, just that, opinions, but SERIOUSLY...

We have to 'just say NO' to this one!

We hope your Fall 2008 will pick up the slack,

as we KNOW what you are capable of...

and it's TRULY much better than this!

- RD

WOW! These just rock! Diggin' the pumps with scalloped/laser cut-out designs, wanna sport these for sure! And...can we at Runway Daily just point out that it makes us smile, just a wee bit, to see all the 'hang-toes' that were workin' this runway...I mean, it just makes these gorgeous gazelles 'that much more' attainable, per say, don't ya think?

Use your Fashion "Cinch" ... Just BELT it!

Belts, belts, belts...all over and present at every show! It's no mystery that they cinch up and show off curves and every figure! So many new styles and designs for all styles of dress. Get out your old ribbons and scarves, throw them around any cardigan, it's such a CINCH! Metallic, braided, classic, scarf-style...you just can't go wrong! Happy belting!

Man o Man, Wang!

Alexander Wang seriously delivered! With an ex-model working the stylist's seat and with 23 year old Wang at the helm, this was a creative and young show for sure! Menswear took the front seat though, obviously...loosely belted shirt-dresses, tuxedo buttons on almost everything, a ripped up wife-beater paired with a sleeveless/cropped jacket...everything was INTERESTING to say the least! My fave piece was the short pocketed grey shift...WOO for a bit of grey! You're the man, Wang! I tip my hat!

JUMP for Preen!

Jumpsuit, that is. Justin Thornton and Thea Bergazzi of British label Preen stormed New York City with slouchy jumpsuits, a subdued palette, belted/cinched waistlines and the new 'it' item - a shirt-dress! The classic LBD also made an appearance, with an added hint of turquoise to compliment. While fall 'in' colors, coral and grey, also made a statement on the Preen runway! Keep those tailored white pants around, this classic piece screams sophistication...bravo Preen!
